They are designed for year around use. The best time of year is spring as the pond is waking up, however if you add in the colder months they will consume waste over the winter and you in a better position before the spring. Wet dredging waste with a pan net will also reduce they work load so we recommend after removing waste from cleaning filtration or using a net to remove waste for traditional ponds and pools
Hello Mr.Mark Hope you are well... Could I please ask you, How often we can use blanket weed treatment in the pond? Does it a problem for fish or plants if we use it more often? Thanks
Multi Clear can be use when ever weed starts to grow. It’s not a chemical based product to it does not build up in the pond. It does last a long time for most clients. One client treats his pond every two years and I have others that do big water chances that treat every month with a maintenance dose
Hi, ive just used a bag of your multi clear, how long does it take for the algae to dissapear? Also the bottom of the pond is white with the powder solution how long will this take to clear up? The water is clear just the stones. Thanks
It takes 10-14 days to break the blanket weed down, if you notice no reduction or the weed starts to grow. Add another dose after 7 days. Don’t do any water changes or filter maintenance. If you are taking out the weed wash the weed in the pond to release the multi clear into the pond. I don’t recommend you do this apart from if pumps or filters get blocked up. Remove as much weed before treating if you can, if it has a strong hold treat and brush off the weed when you can and remove as needed after 7 days if possible. The white will disappear after 3 to 7 days if not or in localised areas brush with a soft broom or a pond shark, these are great at raking out weed.
@@ThePondAdvisor hi the pond clear I got from you worked, I have a problem with a gravity fed easypod, the pond is 6000 litres and I am using a 10000 litre pump,is this not enough or too much,my k1 remains white and never changes colour Any tips for me please
TYVM for that trick with the pole save me sometime and should see the size of the pond sausage I got on me first go nearly 6 foot! Mind looks like I caught up a lot of my snails in the removal :( IS there anything that eats it?
@@ThePondAdvisor ok thanks, that’s good to know. I only have small amount of blanket weed, mainly around a couple of plants. Although it also seems to ‘drop’ new growth from there that then forms little clumps deeper in the pond. I’ve removed it a few times manually with sticks and fingers. Seems to be trying to strangle the plants also. I’ve since learned that this will only release numerous spores, that will INCREASE its growth? Am I worried about nothing? Should I just leave it alone? Is a small amount inevitable? Or will it just go crazy and take over if unchecked? It’s a small nature pond about 800 litres, only had water in for about 3 months. No pumps or anything at all. Seems super healthy, numerous wildlife in it, and using it all the time. Water very clear, slight green tinge. Lots of stagnalis snails in there, would they eat it? Thanks
@@nathsharman4064 yes you are on the right track, algae is part of the ecosystem, snails and other wildlife will eat it. The only time I would remove or treat the water if your removing the wildlife, lots of people say put it on the side, but that is not a common practice with pros.
