Just so ya'll know, half the spiders shown in photos here are not wolf spiders. There are pictures of Wolf Spiders, but there is also a mixture of Grass, Fishing, and Huntsman Spiders. Grass Spiders are relatively similar, but Fishing and Huntsman Spiders are entirely different beasts and get way larger.
I guess it all about circumstance I tried and seal every thing I could going into my house,but just left the outside alone just try to trim stuff out side and keep things clean I I usually spray blast my back yard with pressure hose ,I mean they like warmth right? if every thing is wet and cold they'll probably want to stay the most farthest away from my house ,besides they eat ear wigs ,flies,and moths and stuff so they actually sound pretty helpful in bug eating besides their life span is probably only a couple weeks or so they end up dying any way ,but yeah my house isn't pretty big and back yard is only about 30 feet by 40 feet so it isn't so big ,but I do see them from time to time ,I don't know,its circumstances
@@MegaWolf5741 Yes and the mice that have continued to infest my house after months of using various strategies eat the spiders in my basement but I dont want any of those damn things. I'm exhausted. I have PTSD. I am very sensitive to insecticides. Covid-19 precautions are killing me! I need inside help! Help!
ursamagick MT hmm maybe try to look for some non venomous snakes and put them where the mice are if they are the problem, usually you can tell the difference between a venomous and non venomous snakes by how their faces are
@@ursamagickmt672 sticky traps and poison is only thing that worked for me for mice, wolf spiders were a little more tricky, I use sticky traps everywhere and the only pesticide I found that kills those on contact, is the Bengal aerosol spray. I have a toddler that's been bit by those suckers multiple times. I sleep with 1 eye open at all times to protect him, even though I've pretty much cleared the issue, i have cptsd-so I totally hear ya
I kept one as a pet , he came in the house to escape winter because they aren't a fan a cold weather , once spring came I let him go , his name was cheetah
I found one about the size of a 50 cent piece at my workplace the other day. I wish I brought my good quality camera to take a video of it in my hand. I can feel these crawling on my vs a black and yellow garden spider. They are neat.
We do not kill spiders or other insects unless we feel truly threatened by them, which is pretty much never. Although I will say that having a giant wolf spider crawl across your face while your asleep in bed is not fun. This happened to me. We caught the spider and put it outside. When you live in the woods, expect spiders to visit you.
My uncle told me that once, many years ago, one crawled into his boxers while sleeping and he killed it with (his words) his “hot bvtt blast”. I don’t talk to him anymore because he’s weird, but I’ll never forget that story
I’m not in the woods and have a wolf spider infestation. They are everywhere. And I’m sorry it walked ok you, I would have needed therapy after that. I appreciate how helpful spiders are on keeping pest populations down, but boy do they wig me out!

@@guapify2320 I reflexively flung it away from me, directly at my sleeping husband! I woke him up and said, "There was just something crawling on my face and I accidentally flung it at you!" He sat up and there it was, a massive wolf spider right where he was laying. Of course we both jumped out of bed and I ran to get the "bug bag" (a 1 gallon ziplock bag that we use to catch and release creepy-crawlies). I already suffer from horrible insomnia and that incident did not do me any favors! Less than a year later I was in bed half asleep and felt something crawl across my back. Another huge wolf spider. From that day forward we have sprayed our bed every single night with cedar and peppermint essential oils. We also tuck up the bed skirt and make sure no blankets are touching the floor. Basically we make efforts to deter anything from crawling up into our bed. We live in the woods and our house is very zen, uncluttered and clean. They still find they're way into the house but nothing in our bed since we started taking preventative measures, knock wood.
I just saw one of these on my ceiling in MY BEDROOM! he escaped among my purses into my closet. I have no idea where he went and am not too keen on looking for him among my clothes and purses. OMG!!!
It's fine you can use a small cup to catch it but they aren't at all dangerous to humans and actually kill pests and even possibly deadly spiders like brown recluse if you want to remove them you have to remove its reason to be there which is probably some other insect that you dont know about in which case you might want to leave it as its actually helping you combat the pest
Yeah more people have to do that btw no they are not POISONOUS but I think what you meant to say is they aren't VENOMOUS witch they are so are all spiders but they are not medically significant
I do not kill them if they are outside. They keep my pest insect population way down and don't bother me at all. I also agree with others that when you use these dangerous chemicals you kill much more than one insect, you kill off diversity and endanger all wildlife.

Me and my mom found a HUGE wolf spider and freaked out, and sadly, since our house is REALLY OLD, much of where you said they can be found is very identical to the backyard of our house, it has stepping stones, old and broken patio and lots of bushes, so like, we gotta step up and fix the backyard or else we're doomed.
You do not need to kill any wolf spiders. They never hurt humans, do not build webs and are excellent free pest control for rai he’s. Please Don’t freak out wolf spiders are good.
I would recommend capturing the wolf spider you can take a small plastic container and just put it over the spider then slide the lid under it and put it on then take the spider into a field or forest and releasing it you can take preventative measures by sealing openings and getting rid of other animals that the spider is preying on but don't use any insecticides it's very harming to not just insect populations but also reptiles small mammals and birds and it might even cause harm to you or your pets remember it's literally poison
When me and my family lived in our old house we had a HUGE invasion of wolf spiders! My mom said every time she got home from work wolf spiders all around the doors just waiting to go in. Me and my sister lived downstairs or bedroom and playroom was there. Then one night me and her was playing and she told me to put the toys up. I got all of them in the tub, then I went to get the lid. I lifted it up and then out of nowhere theirs a GIANT wolf spider! I screamed my sister rushed in and I yelled for my mom. When my mom came in she asked what was wrong. I told her their is a giant wolf spider. She thought it was nothing and looked over. Then she yelled for my dad. That night I was terrified that a spider would crawl up and go in my mouth (for some reason).
The other harmless but I want him in your house they're disgusting they're all over my garage and now I found one in my bedroom and they keep coming I have the bug electron example things in the plug walls I tried the vinegar with peppermint I sprayed him with everything I could nothing kills them except hairspray the only thing that slowed them down.

DO NOT get rid of Wolf Spiders! They are the best spiders you can have inside or outside! They are a biological control of insect pests and threats to spiders that have venom that can harm humans.
I was outside and I think I saw one of these and I thought it was a turantula and today I was outside and I saw a hole in the ground I don’t ok ow if it was a wolf spider
I Saw a wolf spider in my room named him cotton eye joe. I only have two questions where did he come from and where did he go? LOL and on a side note Id rather have a few wolf spidersw run along my baseboards trying to hide then have a bunch of yellow sac spiders dangle from my ceiling when im trying to sleep. they wig me out. and wolf spiders eat them.
Wolf spiders are good and harmless to people. They actively hunt down and kill things that can actually be dangerous to people. When I see one in my basement, I just say hello and carry on with my day.
I have been noticing lots of wolf spider and brown recluse anyway today this morning I put on my shoes to go to the bathroom and as I was walking back I felt a Sharp pain to discover there was a Giants wolf spider in my shoe :/ I killed it and went on with my day after disinfecting the area
Because if I accidentally provoke it it will bite me. Outside, sure but not in my house! And i don’t see the point in making it a big deal they stay alive, they are literally everywhere
Andrew those things are super fast and whenever i find something to kill any kind of spider because something has to kill them. I'm gonna kill every spider i see. People say they eat bugs and they may , but they also will bite the heck out of you because i was bitten by one that got away and it made me sick for a couple days. Those things can live anywhere the city, the country it doesn't matter but people can do whatever they want and say whatever they want but i was minding my own business and that wolf spider it lunged at me and it wasn't scared of me and i slapped it as hard as i could and that just made it even madder, but the stupid thing bit me is why i tried to kill it. They're so fast that when i got up to kill it, the spider just ran like lightning speed no joke and ran up a wall and must have got into a crack or something in the wall if there was one. I wasn't getting that close to see. I don't sleep well as it is and when you're being bothered by them while minding you're own business that's not cool at all and spiders need to all disappear or die and i like the second choice way better ..
Yeah, and the one in my front door didn’t go unnoticed either, it’s been there for a couple hours now, I think it want to get in my house. At least she waits to go in through the front door, what’s classy spider. (Oh yeah and Ik it’s a female because it had like a million babies on her back.)
They are everywhere in my grass.....the other night one was on my door mat and i kicked it off and hundreds of baby spiders went EVERYWHERE and I mean hundreds!!!!!!! I have been so traumatized ever since...I dont even want to go outside. I hate to put poison out in my yard ..i guess they live in burrows under the grass...ughhhh so awful....im hostage in my own house...my dog doesnt even want to go out....

One spider got away in the bathroom and it went behind a curtain because i wanted to kill it because i didn't want anymore suprise visits at all . So i went and found some spray in a can that said it killed roaches, spiders and etc. So i sprayed some so it would hopefully come out so i could kill it, i figured that if i sprayed were it was then it would want to get away from the smell. At first it didn't seem to work so i sprayed a ton of it and it finally came out and i was able to successfully kill it. But that spider looked like a brown recluse and i was thinking if it was omg goodness because they're so dangerous and can cause so much damage. But thank goodness i sat there and waited and i sprayed so much it came out and i was able to kill it. But i had to air the whole bathroom out because the smell of that spray omg goodness would take you're breathe away but at least the spider is dead . Mission accomplished thank goodness.
Why do you want to get rid of them? Their bite is not fatal (unless you have a rare allergy), they're amazing jumpers, and because they eat other insects (some of which are pests), they are an ecologically important part of the environment. And the toxic chemicals advertised here kill not only spiders but other beneficial insects.

If i was you from what happened to me before just out of experience. If you saw we're it went if you have some spray like i did that says anyways that it kills roaches, spiders and etc. What i did was spray alot of it were the spider had went behind some curtains and i waited and it didn't come out so i sprayed a ton more and i think it couldn't take the smell so it finally came out and i made sure that i killed it this time. Good luck because those things are fast and huge so be prepared, it amazed me how extremely fast that they're for real.
Dont mind it they aren't at all harmful if it bites you its because it thinks you're trying to kill it it will just eat pests and btw it should just regrow the legs next time it sheds its exoskeleton so it will still live a good spider life
Hey, you may not want to kill wolf spiders. They actively hunt and eat scorpions, black widows, hobo spiders, and most other spiders, it’s the best way to protect your house from things that actually will kill you, plus they keep other spiders down. As well they don’t build webs, are pretty skittish, and will only really bite if you’re messing with one or crush it. If you see one try and move it to the garage or attic, wherever you have a lot of webs and other spider trouble.
I just had one on my bed and I swatted it, and it had babies on her back. TONS OF THEM so you best believe I put the sheets and blankets in the dryer and grabbed a torch and aerosol and BURNED EVERY SINGLE ONE I COULD. i couldn’t find the mama though. I can’t sleep until she’s dead
@DJ SwatZs what are you on about I have seen small children bitten by large wolf spiders they say they just felt some irritation hell I've been bitten at least ten times and none of them hurt

If you let one exist in your house near a window they will kill all other flying insects/ other spiders. We always had like 1/2 let chill. If you start to get a boatload inside i suppose that could pose a issue

@@martinred6237 Yes!!! I have THREE Wolf Spiders living RENT FREE in my RV bedroom. (I live here full-time.) The first one I saw had 1 billion babies riding on her back. 😳 The second one is single with no kids. The MOST frequent one is the size of a 50 cent piece with VERY hairy legs. Every morning at 6:00 when I wake up, there's ALWAYS one. I can't go on living with them. People say they're not dangerous. OK, I believe that but to see such a HUGE harry spider so close to my head every morning is a scene from a horror movie. 😩 Please!!! If anyone has any suggestions... they're so fast I'm unable to catch and release.
My boyfriend just found a big one carrying her sac not on her back but by a web behind her. Like she was relocating her babies. I told my boyfriend I'm moving. Nope..done..he showed me pictures and I felt my heart tightening up, I couldn't even look at the pictures.

We have an issue with the spotted lantern flies where I live, they are bad and your supposed to kill them. Well I can't even kill a darn fly its horrible.

How do you tell the difference between the parsons spider and wolf spider?? They look the same, same size, just as fast.. and it hurts then itches like hell if they bite you.. these boogers always get in my house.. im talking every day i kill at least 3 of em.. theyre about as big as a half dollar or 1.5” to 2.5”.. some are smaller but look the same. The smaller ones always seem to get on me though. Ill be eating or somethng and ill see one crawl out my shirt or something or i’ll suddenly feel like somebody stuck a tack in my leg and big red bump will pop up and itch like it didnt want skin there anyway.. sonetimes ill wake up and have like 3 or 4 big ones going down my side or leg.. definitely not bed bugs unless they can put a dime size bump on somebody.. lol.. tired of these boogers tho. Ive uses all different kinds of spray.. but still they just seem to appear right around me..
If you have seen both spiders then you’ll know that they are very easy to tell apart. I’ve been seeing a small wolf spider outside my house for over a year now and when I looked up a parsons spider, it looked nothing like a wolf spider
So far I’ve seen two good ground spiders in my home, I don’t know if I should kill them. I don’t even know if they’re dangerous, if I should get near them. Please help me I don’t know what to do
Look up the dangerous spiders in your area just in case but they probably aren't so I would recommend finding out why they're in your house because you might be able to get rid of the spiders by getting rid of another pest they're preying on so check your house for signs of an infection if that's not the case then you'll want to stop them from getting in by sealing possible entrances you can also use a small plastic container to capture them just by waiting until you see them and quickly putting the cup over them slide the lid under it and close it you can release them in a field or forest you might want to check to see if it's an invasive species in which case you should kill it
Last night I saw one running towards me but it stopped as soon as I looked at it and when I glanced away awkwardly I saw it run under my couch. I can’t find it yet 😭

Why would you want to get rid of any spiders in your house? Most of them you'll never even notice, unless you go looking for them. And they don't bother you, unless you bother them first. They only really bite, if they have no way to escape, and take care of insects that you definitely don't want in your house. There's really no downside to having them around.
I wish I could see them the same you do, I have real bad arachnophobia and if there's a spider in my room I just can't sleep, I don't know why this is. The only rooms I don't like them in is the bathroom and bedroom, if I see one in other rooms it can stay
I have been an enthusiast my entire life and have never been bitten by a single spider. And I have picked up and held a LOT of spiders. I regularly toss out Wolf Spiders by hand at my friend's houses, I have had two tarantulas and neither ever bit me, and when I was younger and more naive I even held a black widow at one point. Spiders do not bite defensively unless it is a last measure, generally speaking. They really will run as a first option. All other incidents of bites are generally misunderstood. Brown Recluses for example generally don't have the strength to penetrate deep with their fangs and bite more so as an accident because they get stuck in people's shoes and their fangs are literally crushed into someone's foot. Meanwhile those videos of Huntsman Spiders jumping at people or tarantulas running up legs? Spiders have god awful eyesight; to them, we look like trees. We are big enough to draw shadows and they will take residence or jump at us as a means of reaching a lower elevation without realizing we are alive. 99% of the time, a spider ACTIVELY CHOOSING to come at you does not realize you are a living being; they are confusing you for the environment and if you simply stay calm, they will not bite. It's like a wasp landing on you: you're far more likely to get stung/bitten if you panic. As for Wolf Spiders, they are good to have around. You will practically never get bitten by one, they are only there because you have pests in your house they can hunt down, and unlike other spiders they will LEAVE when they exhaust their food sources. Do not be scared, be appreciative; they're killing just about everything in your house including other spiders. And if you really can't handle their presence, you legit can just chuck them out. They are fast, but that is literally it. I promise you, these little dudes aren't gonna bite.
My version how to get rid of wolf spiders 1: if you saw a small wolf spider grab it and drop it on the other insects for example small ground spiders and small garden centipedes(don't worry the small one isn't harmful to humans) 2. Catch it and give it to your stronger insects for example tarantulas,larger centipedes,larger scorpions,larger mantis,larger carnivourus crickets and larger carnivorous katydids 3. catch and keep it as pets (I kept one and it have babies. It made babies with other males) That is my top three list
Why don't people just be fine with whatever decision that people want to do on their property. Some people know that certain spiders and insects are beneficial, and help more than hurt. But if they want them out and away then you should be fine with them being able to do that at their house. If they don't want the extra help then they don't have to have it. Follow the proper laws of your jurisdiction when it comes to removal and no one else should give a crap about what animals you have.
I have personally witnessed a huge spider that was stuck to a glue board and in a matter of a couple hours later it was completely GONE. There were photos taken because it was so big and it definitely looked like all of it's legs were completely stuck down on the trap and when it was gone there wasn't any legs left behind or much more to tell something had gotten off of the glue trap. We honestly had hoped a shrew or something that eats them had pulled it off but we never caught anything like that other than the spiders. Context: This was in an apartment complex that college students rented to be off campus, my daughter was moving into while getting her second masters degree. The landlord was as helpful as you would expect from slumlord and wouldn't ever respond to the emails or texts about absolutely anything that was wrong. He even quit going to the board meetings when my daughter was hired by the college full time and also had to attend the board meetings for her job. She was looking for a different place to move way before the lease was up to say the least.
@ArmZcarr the crickets are the problem the spiders are there to eat them so instead of killing the spiders get rid of the crickets and the spiders will just leave
Why would you want to get rid of them? They are beautiful animals, and they eat many insect pests. Like all spiders, they don't damage plants, or eat human foods, or damage structures.
Yeah lmao. I saw a large black “blurr” fly across my floor and thought it was a mouse. Called the exterminator and he said yeah it was a large wolf spider

All pest technicians including myself know liquid pesticide’s are a waste of money for spider prevention. Also the bifen granule insecticide should be activated with water not another insecticide. That’s another waste of money.
