This has to be by far the best SEO channel I've ever seen. So glad youtube recommended it to me. I'd love to take your course one of these days and learn absolutely everything. Maybe have you build traffic for me one of these days once i get the base off the ground. I'm starting from nothing so can't really afford it just yet, so course is probably going to be the first. I am pretty overwhelmed by all the information though. I thought I knew alot, but I really don't lol.
You deserve a trophy for this amazing video. Out of all the newsletters I receive in my inbox, your emails always stand out because they are worth reading. Keep it up.
Awesome stuff! I am currently focusing on the topical authority and this really is a priority for me this year. Also, I liked the idea of doing Google Ads with the statistics articles and will definitely try it. Will also try it with my definitive type of blog posts.
Wow, by far the best seo content out there…and better yet… in a synthesized format 👏👏👏 no 2h rambles for a couple of nuggets here and there… thank you! I’m an aff lab member since it launched in 2017(?!) and have paid thousands more for similar kind of info…this stuff works ladies and gents, enjoy it!!!
Nice video. What i don't like is none of "you" talk about e-shop. An e-shop has no articles just products...things imo are more difficult. I would like to see a video on how to be on the first page and why not in 2-3 first positions of google for e-shops. Thank you.
Can u tell me the plugin that is used that shows all these in SERP - DR, AR, BL, Volume clicks and all. I have been using MOZ but this looks even better
@@zahidrasheed6977 I'm not a low IQ RU-vidr that gives away what I do.... why would I tell people what business I'm in IF the business actually makes great profit? So they can come over to my side and give me competition? 🤣 Ok, ok, I sell snow cones in Fairbanks, Alaska. I also train cats to wash windows with their tails. Now the secret is out....
Main problem in increasing topical authority of new website is getting indexed. Google stop indexing new websites which focusing on increasing topical authority. They simply exclude urls and blaming content quality.
They really don't. If your pages are "discovered but not indexed" and have not been crawled, there is either something wrong with the content, the internal links or you just need to be patient. Look into what search console is telling you.
@@haroldmallevre1443 4 months - only home page get indexed and all other pages was excluded. One of my other site was not indexed for a month. Home page indexed. I faced same issue with my other blog last year, but after using API, I get indexed in few days.
Great video Matt! Anychance you could do a short video on using Keyword Cupid and how you would group the keywords together. Using the mindmap visualization isnt the easiest to follow and would be great to get a further insight on how you would do it. Or, is it in your affilate lab? Thanks!
Man oh man....this got my brain working... I'm a web designer who is looking to bring real results for clients not just the prettiness anymore... Is learning SEO or paid Ads the best way to go with it? And where can I start?
Really helpful video; I was curious as to what the google plugin featured in the parasite SEO section at 5:37 is? Is that part of AHREFS? This is the plugin that shows DR, AR, RD etc. Thanks again!
Thanks, Matt, I found this pretty interesting. I've been hearing about the Google Ads technique a few times recently, and I've decided to set aside a small budget for it. I'm not using it to compete on any typical "money" terms just yet, but I am going to be using it as a backlink strategy. I've just placed an ad on a short term that shows as the most impressions from my Google Search Console data (imps = potential hits) so that I appear above Wikipedia for this term. My hunch is it's something people will Google (its the name of a person, which is often a "bio/profile" intent) and potentially backlink to. I'm curious to see if I can turn this post that already exists into a backlink generating piece, without having to do any of the outreach.
Hi Matt brilliant article. I've just started getting back into the game after 15 years. Back then, topical authority didn't mean much in the SERPs just backlinks and as such, I became burnt out as I wasn't great at link building. One question, as well as interlinking the other articles, do you link the articles back to your main page? If so, how many? Thank you for your time. Dave.
i forgot if i asked already but wouldnt hitting all the relevant low kd high volume keyword opportunities to link together be enough as a topical authority? by relevant i mean not too arbitrary within the niche or would it make more sense to find low kd keywords within the main sub topics which are slim to none and do you have any videos on how to find the main sub topics within a topic expanding on this video.
I probably missed a few leprechauns in my life as my website has actually earned 95% of the backlinks in my first years. I haven’t done any active link building and only a handful of those first backlinks came from either some business directories or because I wrote some guest posts. So there must be leprechauns around here 😅 Also: Ahrefs hasn’t had a free trial in years. It’s now $7 for 7 days, but they announced that that will change in 2022.
Hey Matt, your videos is so informative! And I like watching it. I HAVE A QUESTION. Is it necessary to build some % of backlink from specific country, which we are targeting. So that we can get country specific traffic. (Like before building a link, i checked Doman Ip for country, Dr and other stuff).
Hi there. I have one question, cause I have a feeling that some link building strategies don't work everywhere. In my country (Poland) you can produce the best freaking piece of content on a challenging topic, and unless you ask someone for a link or pay for it, you won't acquire one. Natural, organic linking basically doesn't exist here. People are so closed, jealous, unhelpful it's beyond my imagination. How would you go about it? Or maybe it is just me being biased? Thanks in advance.
Great Info. When we select different subtopics for our niche should we consider search volume and KD for each keyword? Need your suggestions as a beginner site.
Although informative, I think this is slightly deceptive in some regards. There are most definitely ways to rank articles without LB on some niches by putting in the work. On others, this will be very difficult. To start with what I am the most convinced by, the Google ads solution is great in my opinion. Although some industries don't really benefit from it (idk, maybe nails for example? Or shoe laces), because nobody really cares, it's great advice. It is also much cheaper and more rewarding than going through traditional media (on or offline). Relying on the second technique is problematic for several reasons. I do think this is bad advice. The first reason being that CTR and conversion rates will be affected significantly. The second being that most SEOs are out to get anything they can for themselves from these platforms. If you see something ranking on Medium, you can get it for yourself with relative ease. If a topic people are interested in can rank first page with Medium, you can almost be sure there is a larger untapped market surrounding it. It will take little to medium efforts to build a whole website around it and beat Medium or a similar open platform. Once the ball is rolling, money coming in will fund expansion to an extent that you will price out the Medium competitor before they even realize what is happening. That's assuming they even want to compete at the same level and invest to catch up. If your niche truly has potential and long term value, you do not want to go this route. You're basically giving an open invitation to compete with a bunch of piranhas. Being patient and doing better than your competition will drive traffic and will not attract attention. Sometimes, there is no need to overdo, Google is pretty good at rewarding legitimate efforts in time. Once first, you'll be in that position to price out everybody else from taking the throne. If it does end up ranking, you are exposing yourself to getting it stolen from you down the line. Unless it cannot generate money, it's a matter of "when", not "if". I do have to agree that aged domains are a good technique, and apply to a broader range of niches in my opinion. but they can be very expensive and require quite some time and expertise to catch in time, as well as to select and redirect efficiently. They are also amazing for linkbuilding in general, even passively. People only go by arbitrary metrics these days, and these will make your journey a lot easier. No need to explain anything or convince anybody, if the tool likes it, so do they. Third edit : sorry for the wall of text, as you can imagine, this is a subject I am passionate about and I got a bit carried away ;) I am truly interested in what you guys think about it as well. Still subbed and liked.
Once your are in the top 5 position is there anything else preventing you from getting good traffic besides readers not choosing to click on your page? thank you
Hey Matt, My new website is based on copywriting, I know there are some authority sites for that niche but some of them are not really a topical authority. Do you think I can rank for that topic? Also, I am focused on less competitive keywords whether long tail or not.
I guess it depends on the quality of the content and how well it ranks. Put yourself in the shoes of a buyer, would you want to buy a site with only AI content? if you have SOPs in place and a human checking over the content prior to publishing that could be handed over to the new owner, you at least have structure and a safety net in place. But a site with AI content and no human review (also no E-A-T) would be considered a huge risk to most investors. Build authority as a thought leader first, then implement AI (as a tool) second. JMO.
Great stuff Matt. You said that a low ahrefs DA indicates that the bestketorecipes site linking to Facebook has very few backlinks, but I just checked, it has 20K backlinks. Also, what's the benefit in picking up a site that is linking specifically to Facebook for this strategy? Thanks again bro. And there is no way you're 40 years old, why would you even joke about that?
Hii Matt, As we read the data on the web and write the article, Then, Is it right to not write article about a query type keyword for which already confusing information available on the web?
