I started working a few weeks ago at a prime warehouse and can’t believe how difficult it is to get shifts. It reminds me of the Disneyland virtual passes they have for the new Star Wars ride. If you don’t snag them within a few seconds you are out of luck. The scheduling of shifts has to be hands down the most ineffective and inefficient way for employees to try and earn a living. Amazon truly needs to revamp this method.
For real!!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I literally refresh the app right before the shifts drop and everytime I think I snagged one it'll say "sorry, this shift is no longer available" so I always end up with awkward shifts even tho I try so hard to get the times i want its definitely very frustrating! 😩😒

I just finished my 3 day training, that will probably be the most hours I see in 2 months😂 I thought I was doing something wrong but as I read comments on many videos, I see it is actually a real struggle to get shifts. @@rellish I have found that getting on amazon atoz often, and I mean twice in the morning, twice in the afternoon and throughout the night under find shifts, refresh each time, you will find a shift here and there. That does work🤙
I love my job at Amazon warehouse but there schedule is hectic they cap at 50hours u need a Apple 20phone joke but u do need fast internet and Data at 1600a hour 16.00 a hour u can't beat that that's my only bad experience we help each other as a team u finish fast u go help the people that haven't finished we all break at the same time no is better than the other we are team Amazon Texas love
Great Video! Yup this is the main con with the FLEXPT shift pattern. It is like getting a PS5 or a graphic card. First come first serve. I see this being the way of the future for a lot of part time jobs since this allows the location to have a large pool of workers. It helps the employer offset the high turn over from traditional part times. Unfortunately due to the difficulty getting shifts, most people will have other jobs/part times since they can't reliability work.
def not going to be the future , there are plenty of gig apps and they don't do anything remotely like this. Most apps do random shift drops so everyone has a fair shot unlike Amazon where every1 is camping at 615 and those with a slower phones, elderly.disabled, or if the app crashes gets nothing, it's completely biased and a violation ada.. Other gig apps don't require a min of shifts per month either. Its a setup to req shifts worked yet provide no means to ensure every1 has access to the minimum. Throwing a few crumbs to starving masses isn't a good idea, no one will follow this horrid app
@@zombieslayyerb9451 Great points. Random shift drops would definitely help those who do not have the physical reaction time, expensive powerful phone, or expensive fast internet/router. I am not a fan of constantly playing hunger games to get shifts, and then they changed the rules to have weekly minimum instead of monthly. This explains why they are always hiring, since employees keep turning over. It is good to hear other gig apps have found a way to be more effective.
@@Meatwad102 Yup, I mainly do white collar jobs like IT nowadays. I might entertain some of these blue collar flex jobs, but it is not a reliable source of income.

So dumb that they have people fighting for shifts like this. They need to stop over hiring people. I'm gonna start searching for another job because I can't even grab a shift even at 6:15 Thanks for the tips though
Lately, I haven't been able to pick as much shifts lately, I was told that lately at the end of the month, there hasn't been a lot of orders coming in, last month towards the end and now this month at the same time, something don't look right.
Doesnt even help. Everyone is on the app at the same time and it crashes. By the time it's back up, all the shifts are already taken. I think I'm gonna quit and get a new job to be honest
if u don’t have gold status u are a bottom feeder for shifts another trick use is I don’t look I just tap on anything available and then drop the ones that don’t work for me later but u have to know your schedule for other things to do this. There are also shifts that are posted early in the morning and late at night u wanna check that too. GOODLUCK !
Thanks Larry, that's a great idea! I just finished orientation yesterday and they have asked me to find shifts since the 2nd day of orientation but no luck. I am so trying your trick and see if I can grab me a shift or two🤙😊
What about the Gold Status where you have to work six weekend days in a calendar month for advanced shift postings for the next month, I earned it for January and it kicked in in February, but then in Feb I only worked four weekend days but I still have it after the 15th of March. It suggests that maybe working one month of 6 weekend days is good for the next three months of Gold, or who knows, maybe even a year!
Amazon is the worst. ( I see you live in vegas by the way) I’m added to 3 stores and can barely get 20 hours a week. I spend more time on A to Z than I do actually working. (I think may be illegal)
This was really helpful as I’m switching to flex ! Just one question if you could please answer. Do they allow you to pick up 2 shift for one day..??? Or do you have to work the 1st shift and then add the next shift if it’s available (for the same day)
I work for the Locker and customer service and there are no shifts listed for my location. I have to work 19 hours a week for this position. What are my options if there are no shifts listed?
I’m not sure if this is for every location, but we have to work a minimum of one shift per week to be in good standing. Couple times shifts weren’t showing because they were being picked up within seconds of being posted. Here were my options: The most sure way of me picking up a shift was I texted co-workers if they had a shift they were willing to drop for me to pick up. Most people pickup shifts they don’t need, but take them to have options. I’d say this worked for me majority of the time. Twice I wasn’t able to pick up any shifts for the week due to availability. These two options were given by my team leader. 1) I didn’t work a shift for that week with no attendance penalty. 2) she let me work a shift that fell between mid-shift and closing shift. Could be different for you depending on the people you befriend and/or your team leader.
Where do I go on the app to get to the page that lets you pick shifts to begin with? Literally no one has taught me anything on schedules at my location. So idek where to go on the app just to pick mine
If it takes the punch you might get away with it, but they will see people doing this and impose termination notices if it becomes repetitive, sending out warnings first. At least that’s how it was 4 years ago at my location which was as a shopper. However, since then thay have advanced the technology to simply not let the ID badge to allow itself to punch in if that person doesn’t have a shift scheduled for that time.
Can you work as a prime now shopper and work as a fresh warehouse associate part time at the same time ? Also do they show you shifts for another position ? I want to do both .
Hopefully someone can help me out! So I finished my training and still can't find anything shift, taken or not. I never receive a notification. I've already gotten with gsx and hr chat box. What else can I do?
question, is this also the method for new employees? I just got hired over the weekend and I have yet to receive a email for my orientation. my projected start date was on wednesday but it said I needed to schedule my start date and schedule.
Same @Queen C I actually applyed on May 27th and played email tag for almost 2 months with candidate support before reapplying to get another appointment with recruitment..that's when I went in and said to real humans " So what's up? Am I going to work or what?" and showed them my knet online completion, my drug test, backround check, badge photo taken, safety shoes on and I 9 complete. THEN they told me to come in for my 3 day orientation training..and that was still 7 days out. I have since finished my orientation and have 24 work hours in the system. So far no luck on even picking up a shift from this crazy Amazon A to Z app. I'm slow and my phone is slow😂 Good luck Queen C🤙

Im starting on February the 2nd as a shopper do you like the job? And how many shoppers you see at your job Or are those all type of different shoppers from different stores when it said it was “full” please let me know
How is it so far ?...there are other things that u do they don’t tell you about like taking orders to parking lot for customers, cleaning staging area, doing non inventory checklist dealing with rude employees and crowded stores on some weekends

So it looks like you have to go in on a specific day and time to pick for another day. So it appeared you could choose other days that week. My question is can you pick all your shifts that week at once? TY :)
no, they don't drop the whole week n & even if they did it would be bad cuz u will always be lucky to get 1 shift before they are gone. No time to even think Abt it cuz at 616 all gone. The hr cap is usually 3 shifts, 12hrs for week. . they send text of # of shifts for what days will drop right before but if u are at cap u won't be able to add any shifts regardless of they are available
at 6:15PM, how many days ahead can the app allow to take a shift?? like can you get shifts ahead of time for, say the next week,or next next week?? or were you just pickin a shift for the next day or two?
Can I pick up extra shifts prior to my 1 or I actually have to start so I can do that it gives me options to pick up extra shifts but when I click nothing appears
Is there a possibility that you can get your full time schedule switched from one time frame to another ? I work 1:20am to 11:50am and that sounds like hell. . I prefer getting off at like 5:30am or 6:am . .
@@SUNNDAYS9333 eat twice before your shift, unless your gonna bring food food to the job, and not a snack. buy melatonin to sleep when the shift is over. Maybe even some shades to keep your eyes used accustomed to the dark when you get off, to go to sleep earlier when the shift ends. Oh yeah, and also you might want to buy a sleep mask because the Sun will tell your brain it’s morning and youll lose even more sleep. . My shift is cool but I work at a DVB and not a FC. meaning mine doesn’t have waterspider, packing, and isn’t as big as an FC. The only issue is having almost no life on your work days. You only have time to eat those 2 meals and take another nap after waking around 6-7. Good luck
@@SUNNDAYS9333 it is . I even have only one floor, Unlike the FC horror stories I’ve heard about before getting onboard. I don’t really have to rush to break out/clock out, But their still is a seat issue in the break room . . As for the microwave, idk as the food I bring doesn’t need to be heated.
I work as a locker hub associate and It’s so competitive. We only have three shifts a day with 8 employees at our site and shifts are taken within seconds (not kidding) after being posted.
If I’m eligible to work at another location, over 60 hours available rn, but no shifts r popping up is that because there weren’t any? Or is it a glitch?

How did you get the shifts by just refreshing the page? I understand how they popped up but how did you automatically get them without clicking on them get the shifts?
@@YungLuiis I started last week and I actually hate it because of the way we have to hope to get shifts. It’s not even a real job if you can’t get shifts. Fortunately it’s a part time job or I’d be 100% screwed. I still need the money though. Probably will end up looking for another part time job
@@christinaf8417 same here. This is just a part time gig to pay off credit card debt. I work a regular five day 40 hour a week job and do this after hours. There is no way I could depend on this for full time work. I applaud those that do work it full time and wish them the best of luck !
does anyone know how to swap a shift? im lost and i know that is on there but i don't see it. i have 30 hours of upt but i rather try to swap it instead i don't really want to miss out on any money if i don't have to ya know...
What happens if you drop the shift after the 24 hour penalty? Do you get a penalty and if so how can you check how many penalties you have. Sorry I’m just so confused it’s my first day
You have to refresh the page for the date that the shift will be posted for at 6:14:58 as soon as the shift pops up select “Add” right away. Hope this helps.
I am a new hire waiting on my email to do my docs and everything else. Every time I go in there it says no shifts available am I ever going to be able to work at amazon??
Took me 2months after email leap frog with candidate support to get my job and that was after knet, backround, drug test, badge photo, I9 verify, receiving my safety shoes, and then reapplying just to get back in on an appt with recruiting to show that I had everything completed🤯 Now I've completed my orientation and it's impossible to pick up a shift, haven't picked up hours yet. But orientation showed me that I do like all positions in the delivery warehouse and it will be worth it, that's if I can get back in to actually work a shift😂
U can't, they only do 4hr 30/45m shifts, so you'd have to book 2 shifts which is at min 9- 10hrs, but you'd be lucky to get 1 shift be4 their gone let alone booking back to back shifts. They are also offset usually, with a 45min or more gap between shifts. If looking for full-time shifts, the warehouse is the way to go but it's more like 12hrs shifts
