This just sums up the LC in a nutshell, learning shite off with 0 understanding of what it's about and no intelligence is required. People are afraid of maths like it's some kind of serial killer because it's taught so badly even though it's actually an enjoyable subject when you understand whats going on. I think there's a lot of intelligence required for English (HL) with regards to engaging with the question asked. And there's no denying that there's a lot of intelligence required for this new Project Maths (HL), but I don't know if that was around when you made your comment. But when it comes to subjects like Phys/Chem where the majority of the paper consists of definitions which could be easily learned off, I couldn't agree more.

I never said the "smartest person" never did any work did I? I meant a very intelligent person who does work losing out on a college place to someone who learns everything off by heart and writes it out on the exam without thinking. Of course the person worked hard but the more intelligent person would be better suited to that course. Just my opinion.
but now everything is computers with them your out of the job and im study 5 hours everyday including weekends and still make time for my sports and social life
Not in that sense I mean they lose out on a college place which would be better suited for them because they want to have a social life throughout the year. Of course most people work their arse off but the whole wrote learning thing kind of annoys me. People should be learning things because they want to not because it's an "easy points" subject and just learning things off with little understanding. Also, I know talent has nothing to do with it, nothing at all really, bar maybe maths.

Sums up why the Leaving cert is an absolute piece of shit. If you have a brain that's good at memorizing shit you can basically ace the LC, all it is is just regurgitating notes.
