Using a tripod for rear support seems very "gamey". It would be better if match directors simply restricted shooters to a rifle, bipod, and a single bag to simulate what you're more likely to have in the field. If you have a tripod in the field, you'd mount your gun to it properly anyway and get proper support.

Not to be a smart ass but it IS a game. Instead of sticks like hockey, you just use a rifle. Want a more realistic rifle game? Shoot NRL Hunter matches. Mostly set in the kind of environment you'll find in the field, there are still those who game it using stupid big padded bags for support but it can be shot with the kind of equipment you'd take hunting. I know, I have shot those matches.

Chances are if you're shooting things at long range you already have a tripod for glassing with you. I get it. But you would have one with you.

Basically silhouette shooting. You don't have any stabilization at all. You have to anticipate when the crosshairs will eventually get over your target, account for the trigger, time your heartbeat and breathing, then shoot.

Isn't the point of those stages to test the shooter and not their equipment?

Competitive shooting tests the combination of both. Anyone can show up and have fun. To compete at the highest level, you have to buy the gear.

What if you just slide the rifle on the strap all the way to the left or right?you could brace off the side post aswell as the strap

Most matches have a rule against this, or marks you have to shoot between to stop from bracing on uprights.

tie is a sling to your belt, prevents rifle being swung forward. =.=

Hello Keith. Is it not an option to place the rifle on the strap shoulder it and grab the left side of the barricade lock the arm out as a support. This is an honest question I don’t know if that’s allowed?

No offense, but this was pretty useless. Of course, we'll be more stable if we have a platform to use for support. Call it a tripod, monopod, 2x4, whatever. I thought I was going to see some better breathing technique or position recommendations for different types of obstacles. Oh well, I still love your products though...and most of your videos😁.

This is where slings come into play... Sinch tight while also using the tripod.

Would you even take an ethical shoot with that much wobble? I am sure if you were in the field you would set the gun on the tripod and take a shoot and not on top of the barb wire!! This is for the sport not for this or that. Take the video for what it is. Good job Keith.
