Hello, I'm also printing the Robocop suit right now, it's really a lot of time and work. I've been printing with 2 printers for about 3 weeks and I'm only half done. And don't forget the rework, it's going to be extremely exhausting
@ChrisBoshProps

Most definitively. It will take awhile to print. It could take up to 2 months just to print. Probably a year and some change to finish. Depends on how many hours you put into it and how much time you invest. The most costly part is definitely TIME. If your passionate about it and persistant it will all fall into place. Wish you the best! Happy Building!

I am in the same shoes as you were back in 2016 when I got my first 3D printer, with printing 50% sized Ghostbusters Proton pack pieces, and I ended up printing a full 2016 Ghostbusters proton pack within a year after that. Now I have three printers (actually four as ownership), two are FDM (filament) and one (currently using) SLA (resin). When it comes to purchasing the files, I've paid $115 for the files when I got them, so I wasn't as smart or patient to get them.

Yeah I think most of the Q proton pack stuff is free now. That's cool you built some smaller scale packs. So many amazing things to print nowadays its hard to make a choice! Thanks for your comment sir.

Thanks. I’ve got an Ender 3 v2 Neo coming from the wife for Xmas. I’ve already got stormtrooper armour so I’m unlikely to do a full Robocop build but 100% going to do the helmet.

Thanks Chris that was brilliant, subscribed. I am just about to buy my first printer. Is the ambient room temperature important for a 3d printer?
@ChrisBoshProps
@ChrisBoshProps Год назад
Most definitely. For a bed slinger open FDM printer you'll want to make sure your printing in weather above freezing for sure. 70 degrees and above would be most ideal.

Very curious as to how to scale up parts where needed. im assuming this suit fits a 34" waist, and i am in a 36"... Your suit looks Fantastic... Phenomenal job
@ChrisBoshProps
@ChrisBoshProps Год назад
Thank you so much! Yes more then likely you'll have to scale up the suit. I'm 5'11, 185lbs and 34 inch waist and I don't have to scale up anything on the suit. For a 36 inch waist you might have to scale up 5% or so just make sure when you scale up you'll have to scale up the chest and back or else they won't fit over the midsection. I usually just double click the model in Simplify3D and you could scale up across all axis at any percentage you want. Default size in Simplify3D will be at 100% and you just change it to 105% and Simplify3D will upscale it for you then you export and save the newly scaled model and then cut it up in Netfabb as you see fit. You can increase scale across the whole model or just across one part of the model on whatever axis, totally up to you. Scaling can be really tricky. I usually just keep scaling up until it fits right. I waist some filament in the process but it's whats easiest for me. There is just no easy away around it unfortunately.

@@ChrisBoshProps the file maker states it should fit 7170 cm and 180 cm in height, which i fall into. would i need to adjust only the midsection and chest/back, or would arms and legs be necessary? Are you on FB by chance? =)
@ChrisBoshProps
@ChrisBoshProps Год назад
@@KIOK Not on Facebook I'm sorry. My email is in my RU-vid description if you need to contact me. The only thing you would need to scale up if you decide to do so is the midsection, COD, chest and back. You could just print the midsection and cod and see how it fits first.
