i spent the majority of january watching tutorial after tutorial - constantly overwhelmed by all the info they added going through their tutorials really fast. and showing us the intricacies of Notion. I WISH I DIDN'T PAUSE towards the end of January because then hopefully I would've found this video sooner. Thank you!!!! I have my work/career page and my main page pretty much set up thanks to this tutorial!
I accepted that I like watching all types of videos about notion templates that are aesthetic and fancy but nothing beats a simple setup that looks clean, functional, and pretty at the same time when it comes to MY personal organization 😌 I played around with notion a lot to understand that what works best for me is not something that has many widgets because I never use them and they give me a sense of clutter on the long run and I always end up deleting them all. That being said, I love making my notion more personal with icons and images and so I can focus on learning more how to use it in-depth with forumals etc and just making sure I don't spend more time playing around with notion than actually using it to be organised and productive lol Thank you for the video Anna, this was awesome and I loved how the pages turned out 🥰
Yes! It's so satisfying to peek at really beautiful and intricate setups, but after using it for a long time you slowly learn what's useful and what's not on a personal level. I'm happy you've found your groove!
@@comradestanniscurious to read what you didn’t like about Evernote, I went straight to Notion and there’s too much time investment to keep looking around. But I’m still intrigued with Evernote and Obsidian
As someone who has ADHD, my goal is to use this software to be more productive with my time and have everything in one place, yet keep getting distracted and overwhelmed with it all…started to watch 3 tutorial videos on the matter by now…yours is the only one I haven’t skipped yet haha
im in the same boat and was looking for apps that can help me building and keep a routine ffs (I have ADHD too lol). How'd it go for you? (no pressure, i swear)
This was the first Notion video I've watched that didn't make it seem terrifying. I can't wait to actually get into using it properly, thank you for this. 💖
PLEASE, the first entire minute of this video IS ME to my CORE. I really appreciate how you aim'd to keep it under 10 minutes and still beat the clock!! I also absolutely loved how you ended the video with something very grounding for us overly anxious always on the go people. We need more reminders that not everything will get done and that's OKAY.
Just starting with Notion. Spent the past two weeks trying to figure it all out. I’m pretty tech savvy, but still finding it to be overwhelming. I was thinking about abandoning the idea of using Notion, As I am very busy and it seems so complex. But perhaps you’re right. I’m trying to do too much too quickly. Watched a lot of videos, tutorials, etc., and this is the most easily digestible tutorial I’ve seen so far. Thx for making it seem possible.
I have ADHD and dyslexia, this shiz is HARD and overwhelming! I've tried so many different ones but calling it overwhelming is an understatement. I'm a small business owner and everything works in my head ... but of course, that's not realistic. Thank you for making this video. Following along is so much more focused and beginner friendly. Now I'm past not knowing where or what to start and I can slowly add what I need. No more getting overwhelmed by the mess of info. ❤️
hey!! Would you mind sharing how using notion has helped since you commented this?? (if it did help) I'm not diagnosed with ADHD but I suspect I might have it, but either way I'm very unorganized, get overwhelmed very easily and end up procrastinating way too much,, every time I tried using one of these apps or calenders and stuff it never worked, so if you could tell me if this worked for you and/or how you adapted it I would appreciate it a ton!!! thanks ^^
@@margaridadomingos1408 im not the person you asked but i also have this issue and whenever i have a planner, app, or organization system i literally just "romanticize" it. like make it seem really appealing and have fun customizing it and you'll feel both proud of your work and eager to use it. for example, i honestly always had a hard time iwth assignment notebooks, but i found a super cute minimal distraction one (campus academic planner by kokuyo) and its so cute that i used it nearly everyday, and hyperfixated on the idea of being organized. it helped a lot! watching study youtubers and people who do organizing and journaling has helped me get into the mindset i need. i struggle still and have struggled with adhd in school since i was 9 (im 23) and in my final semester of college, i finally feel like i'm organized enough to manage what i need. also, would highly recommend looking into a therapist who has adhd! ive found it easier to bond and understand myself when the other person does. and then, you can look into dx-ing and medications or whatever you think would help! good luck
This was the best ACTUAL notion tutorial I've seen so simple and quick and made me realize that aesthetics are nothing if it doesn't help with my needs.
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I tried Notion once before and abandoned it for looking too "bare bones" to intrigue me (neurodiverse here). So I came back to it after seeing colorful notion designs - but then stumbled over actually making those templates my own. I kicked out everything and started over with your tutorial. Thanks a lot!
I am LOVING this tutorial. I never knew Notion existed, and it's everything I've needed. But it was very overwhelming. Everything I have in my Google doc and Google sheets are now going to migrate over
I was about to give up on Notion. This was exactly what I needed to get going! Thank you for explaining things clearly, showing a bunch of quick commands/features, and showcasing a very versatile and customizable template.
Personal note 1. Pick base structure that works just for you. 2. Starting simple and build complexity over time. - Take what already been created rather than reinventing all over. 3. Don't import all information into Notion all at once. - Not everything will fit in Notion. 4. To begin and end in mind. - Always remember why you begin; what is your goal and what do you want to accomplish. - Know your priorities.
I’ve seen so many videos this week and not a single one of them has been as useful and easy to understand as yours, that too without taking 30-50 mins to explain it. Thank you for this!
THANK YOU. As someone who learns all and does all, I'm constant.y looking for the fastest and easiest way to know how to do things. At first glance, Notion is presented as one of the most convoluted platforms out there but you broke it down and now my day isn't ruined! thank you, Sister!
I've had the app downloaded for a few years now, but I've been too intimidated to start anything really productive. Thank you for making a quick and simple way to jump start Notion! ♥︎
When I tell you I just set up my whole dashboard from your video... this is such a gem that needs to go VIRAL ASAP!!! Thank you for all of your help and the time spent recording this for us.
The effortless flow of this demonstration is probably the biggest reason why this is so easy to follow. It's practical and gets to the point, rather than these other videos that try to go over each different aspect of Notion individually. Thank you for this amazing video
So so helpful, thank you! Notion felt impossible beforehand, and even though there's a ton to dive into, this is the first thing that helped me feel like I could actually create something helpful in Notion.
I REALLY appreciated your reminder at the end that we are all doing our best and that we will always have more to do. Its a nice reminder knowing that other people also feel like they want more time, and that the things they want to do feel never ending. Thank you for that, I needed to have that reminder to put myself and my life first- and not all of the tasks I want to do 💞
You've really captured the essence of getting started with Notion in a way that's both informative and entertaining. It's easy to get lost in the features of Notion. But by defining your goals and priorities, you can create a system that aligns with your actual needs.
This is exactly what i was looking for, such great advice & such a nice starter setup! Could you go more into detail about the overarching systems you mentioned under tips &tricks? ❤️
Great vid. You made it less intimidating for me, offered authentic advice, and did not edit out spots where you were struggling a little bit with setting up the dashboard. I think that's awesome. I have bad ADHD (went undiagnosed until age 23) and I have abandoned every single planner method I have tried. However, I learned form other vids that Notion here has some template/widget things that gamify planning a little bit (daily streak, progess status, etc.). I'm hoping this is The One. Again, thank you!
hey internet stranger! i got diagnosed last year at age 23 too lol. No pressure at all but has notion worked for you? Also, if you could share the name of some templates that gamify things id really appreciate it.
Thank you very much 😊. From literally last 5 days I have bee trying to know how to use notion, every time I used to search on RU-vid but not understood what they are saying. As a student to learn how to use it quickly , I had been depressed and uninstalled and installed the app many time. But today suddenly I haven seen your video and literally a creative and productive video like this app. Thanks once again ❤❤🎉🎉😊
This was so helpful. You kept it super simple, easy to follow, and quick to start up! I have already been using Notion but you gave a good introduction to the basics. Thanks so much!
This was everything I needed! The 10 minute timer made it feel like I could do it as well and it was easier than expected. Your recommendation at the end to start small and it will build over time helped ease the worry most of us have starting out so thank you!! Subbed for more helpful content :)
Honestly, this is EXACTLY what I needed. Quick, simple, no fluff, and reminders to not get ahead of myself or be overwhelmed by all the flexibility. Subscribed for that!
I'm looking into Notion and considering how I would want to use the app and I really appreciate your videos. You're really upfront about setting realistic goals for yourself and not just rushing into the most flashy setup because you feel like you should. Congrats on the good vibes!
Thank you so much! I've had my fair share of tries in using Notion, but always it was too overwhelming and too complicated. Thanks to you now I have a great base that doesn't makes me tremble in fear when I open my page and makes me want to play with it. Thank you so much again!
New to Notion from bullet journal (I find I'm frustrated with the time it takes to make the BUJO pretty but don't feel good using it when it's just boring black ink - also... I don't carry it with me everywhere so when all these things I need to remember pop in my head it's not with me or I sit down to add everything and all those to-do's go poof, I got nothing). Love all the template options but none were right. Trying to create from my own from scratch - overwhelming. THIS VIDEO was the first one (and I've watched many!) that gave me two wonderful pieces of advice. 1. Starting with the end in mind; and 2. Use the "notebook" pages as bullet journal pages. Yes - it is all coming together now! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for creating such a great video for beginners! I decided to try out Notion and learn to work with it over the summer well knowing it will take some time, but following your tips I was able to create my dashboard with most important things in one evening! I will be making it prettier and filling it in with things I need as I go, but this was such a quick and easy start 💖
You are awesome. Ive seen dozens of videos on getting started with notion, but didnt help much as either were too basic or advanced. This is exaclty what i needed, thank you so much!
I appreciate that you showed a really simple setup to get started that looks cute and actually makes sense :-) some other tutorials move a little too fast or just get way too complex. I use a simple bullet journal for my daily to do lists and stuff but wanted something that helps give a bigger picture view of different areas of my life I’m working on like career/education/travel and so many of the premade life planner templates just felt a little too complicated or not a good fit for my needs. Sometimes you really just need to see an example of something basic that works and then spend some time playing around and making it your own
Hi! I'm coming back to this video after watching it a couple of months ago. Before that, I had been using ready-made templates that looked good but weren't functional and I would abandon them after mere days. I built my own dashboard from scratch using your guide and it has been the only thing that made a drastic difference in my productivity. I'm still not perfect but I'm getting there and it's all thanks to you!
Mad respect, girl! I started with your Ultimate Notion Setup video, and it's impressive... like whoa! It really opened my eyes to the possibilities of Notion to re-shape my life. It also scared me half to death. Not because it was unattainable, but because I needed to figure out where to start. This video helped me review my goals while staying grounded in creating a practical system that I can build upon. Your tips at the end are perfect! Your vulnerability is so relateable. I am a bit more of a relaxed, creative that wants to work on tracking my progress and limiting my procrastination, so I plan to include fun areas in my organization that will encourage me to use them more often. (ex: language learning with music/tv shows, skincare, and gratitude thru gift giving). Trying to do just the serious goal work overwhelms me after a while and leads to more procrastination. Thanks for building your content from the perspective of your new subscribers and new Notion users. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The first Notion video I've seen that didn't make it seem terrifying was this one. I appreciate you sharing this and can't wait to start using it properly. Thanks Wesley💕
I cannot tell you how many times I've 'tried' notion but got so overwhelmed by the customization that I abandoned it. I just downloaded your template you made here and for the first time in a long time I can actually look at my task list and not feel so overwhelmed AND am starting to understand Notion. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for this video I just downloaded Notion and tried using myself as I couldn’t figure anything I completely left it but deep inside I wanted to try it and be organised more than being aesthetic I tried different RU-vid channels but it confused me more you were so helpful to motivate me to start thanks a lot ❤
hi Wesley! first time using notion here and also watching your channel. i just wanted you to know that i loveeee your energy!! you're so fun, smart, and relatable, and the content you made like this video has helped me out LOTS. hope you find candy under your pillow and all your laundry is magically done
Thank you Anna! This was very useful! You are so right about the overwhelm of trying to create the perfect matrix in one day :D I love the gallery view and I could not figure out how toget started without wasting a lot of time. I love your simple instructions. Gracias!
Girl THANK YOU SO MUCH! a lot of people just show their notions but I can’t figure out to do some things and this video had exactly what I was looking for!
Seriously one of the best video on notion where something has been taught instead of just yapping and yapping!! So glad I watched all of it! Thank you! Also, please tell me where did you find your notion images from?
I can't tell you how many overwhelming Notion tutorials I closed without finishing, but THIS!! The only video we ever need to get started. Great job and thank you!!
Thanks for this. Glad for the community around this practice. I bottled my first batch recently and hadn't seen this yet, but thanks to the strong community I had accounted for a lot of these already. Grateful to have a "single source" to reference for batch 2!

Wow. Very helpful! I haven't started the video or Notions yet and I' sure this will be handy. I will be screenshotting and saving this list in my "Notions" binder.
I've just started working for a startup and have to write documentation in Notion and dude when I say this was exactly what i needed to get going god bless you bruv
I started using notion I honestly thought it be terrifying thank you for posting this video I built my simple notion today wish me best I am gonna use it to prioritise my education with it ❤
I was fine right until you added the image and moved things around. I CAN NOT get mine to do that. The gallery is just what the gallery is. :-( So frustrating.
Update. If you click below the gallery, like you are adding new content, you are given a line to start typing or use the "/" to access the commands. I hit the "/" and then selected Image.
I watched like 4 different notion setup videos and was still confused. How you showed and explained everything somehow just clicked in my brain finally thank you!
@wesleyanna I must say you're one in a million ! All other videos i could see were totally more than complex. Really appreciate this very one. The best Notion I've seen EVER !😊❤
This is literally the most useful video I've seen about Notion! Tried to do it based off other website bulding knowledge and other overcomplicated videos saturated with info but nothings beats a simple tutorial like this :)
The last advice it's exactly what I was thinking, I'll love to create a complex organization calendar and notebook but I have to start for the beginning, I already created my head start with your tutorial and I love it! so im gonna create the habit of using it and then adding more complexity with time, tyvm for real
Check out my Ultimate Notion Dashboard setup here!! wesleyanna.gumroad.com/l/ultimate-notion-dashboard Or, if you're looking to create a custom system fit to your needs, check out Notion University! notionuniversity.wesleyanna.com/ *NOTE IF YOU CAN'T MOVE THE IMAGE: You can't create a new column with an image alone! Create a column with text first > drag in the image > delete the text (see 7:01 for example)
holy yappers, ive watched so many notion tutorials and by far this was the most helpful !!! thank you so much for reminding me that life is not always abt aesthetics !!!!! im enjoying my set up rn 🥺🥺🥺
Okay, this is brilliantly simple. I've been trying to hack together so many different dashboards with so many different styles. Thank you for giving me an excellent starting point.
I downloaded Notion at first and when I started seeing a blank page kind of overwhelmed me like I didnt know how to do and what to do. This video really helped me out. Thank you so much for this video! 🥰💕
This was SO HELPFUL. Been working with Notion for a year now just hoping that it should work someday, thanks to you IT WORKS NOW. I can finally organize my work.
I agree with all the other commenters. I have tried setting up Notion 3 times and this is the first video that has been helpful. I am pretty tech savvy and was super frustrated I couldn't seem to wrap my mind around it. A whole new world of possibilities has been opened. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! A million times....thank you for this video! 🥰My Notion journey over the past couple of months since starting grad school has been to get someone else's template, try to make it work for me, delete everything and start over, and try to make something from scratch. Delete it all and download someone's template again, etc. My latest Notion is ONLY a master task list to track my assignments for grad school. You gave me hope again! 🙏 And you gained a new subscriber. 😘
