O.K.... I can't use the PROPER EXPLETIVES to say just how valuable this video is! Talk a out precise, concise, and whatever else 'case. You sir, have just saved me and many, many others time and sanity! THANK YOU!
This was the most awesome and useful video ever, when thinking about jumping into CNC I have always wanted to see how to program (CAM) load then setup my material then hit go! This is a video that no one has done (Like this). Thanks to SMW for producing this!
Great introduction video! Even though I had some experience with a desktop cnc mill for designing my PCB's it was very intimidating to hit the cycle start button on my 1100mx when I ran a program for the first time. Excellent work.
I don't understand why you put Z = 0 when the Haimer probe was on the surface. How would PathPilot know to use the Haimer length then? You just entered it as tool number 99. How would PathPilot know to use tool 99 height and not any other random tool height??? Is 99 a magic number?
Wow Saunders really has all the garage "machinist" sold on these fixture plates. Are you guys aware these plates and pallets are just machined plate stock? The Tormach 1100 plate is $799. A 35x12x1 plate of 6061 is $286.09. Saunders would charge me $3538.91 for a 40x16x1 plate with "pro" hardware for one of my machines. I could buy the stock for $442.08 and machine it to my machine. oh, and this includes his little vise because Kurt, Orange, Raptor, Shunk, and 5th axis haven't got it right. This is crazy, people buy these plates and don't even get a real vise. You guys are just paying him to do what you should be doing, machining. he gives you the prints and CAD files.
