This 19 minute video will bring you up to speed for setting up your minidsp two channel plate amplifier with integrated digital signal processing. www.meadowlarksings.com www.patmcginty.com
Very interesting and a good tutorial. Now what digital input do you use and how do you control the volume? As I understand it the digital output of some devices can not be changed so it has to be done in the plate amp?! Is there a way to remotly do this withotvthe software open? Like a remote? Thanks!
The best and easiest use of this product is to accept digital signal from a streamer, which typically have software vol control. You can enable the vol pot on the plate, but that's too cumbersome in a stereo setup. Or download the minidsp app and, connect your plates to your network, by using a wireless extender if need be, then use your phone, laptop or PC to select Presets and control volume. If you're still using a CD player, my best advice is to migrate to a streamer. It definitely is a job to RIP your library, but you'll never regret it. Here, we RIP'ed a couple of cubic yards of CDs to a 2TB HD that fits in my shirt pocket and cost less than $80. Once that's done, your streamer will have instant access to all of your music, alongside your steaming service. Control your system wirelessly with a tablet. It's great. Plus, you're now ready for HD audio. Some albums I've enjoyed for years in CD quality, 16bit 44.1KHz, are quite superior in 24/96. The recent release of remastered Abbey Road in 24/96 makes that point beautifully. The minidsp will play files as dense as 24/192. Good luck!
Aha ok minidsp has an App! Ok that changes everything! Yes I am in process to ripp my cds, but mostly I stream Tidal and Spotify so its not new. Whar streamer do you prefer? Its a jungel out there and its difficult to decide...dsd, MQA etc you know.....
@@dagwallander9265 Good move. I use an Auralic Aries Mini with an added a 2TB SSD, and an iPad. Many of our customers love the Bluesound Node2i. Either way, you can put the whole front end together for less than $1K. Then sell your conventional gear while you still can! The app for Auralic seamlessly combines my local library with Tidal. It will handle MQA from Tidal and you can even make mixed playlists. Really, it couldn't be any nicer to use. But you can only run iOS. If you want to run Windows or Android, look at the Bluesound.
Meadowlark Audio Ok well thats interesting as the Aries mini isnt produced so it can be found for a good price... But the Bluesound nod2i only have analog out? Yes/No? So you can adjust the volume in the Aries app Yes? Thanks for your input! Love Your work!
