Unlocking Recon armor in Halo 3 feels way more rewarding than unlocking this shit. Achilles requires time and grind while Recon rewards you for unlocking Mythic achievements. Most people who enjoy playing Halo (like myself) don't have the time to unlock the Achilles. I don't want to waste my life unlocking something that will not benefit me in the long run. If I were to unlock Achilles, will I be rewarded to get a VIP pass to go visit 343 industries? Will it unlock exclusive REQ's such as armor, weapons, etc? Gaming is a hobby not a lifestyle.
Churro Blast the recon helmet doesn't help you either in halo 3, neither does the katana but it just looks cool. And to get recon in halo 3 took a long time and tries for anyone so it really isn't different that this helmet.
Eh. Looks like I'm never getting this helm. By the looks of the Spartan Companies look like they take themselves too seriously with rules and dumb shit. I play for fun. Keep your fake virtual military to yourself, mate.
w4rr10r11 I know old comment, but there's actually quite a few that are really laid back. I'm in one right now whose only rule is that being inactive for about a month means a kick. That's plenty of time to play at least a bit so you don't get kicked.
Just looked up my career Halo kill total out of curiosity... Halo 1 was offline so don't have stats for it but totaling my kills from Halo 2, 3, Reach, 4, MCC, and 5 gets me just over 225,000 kills. I played Halo 1 MP with friends about as much as Halo 2 online so probably can add another 30,000 kills for that so my total series kills since 2001 is probably in the vicinity of 250,000 to 260,000 kills. Just over halfway to the 500k mark and that's with 16 years of playing Halo... wow
Just got my Achilles 3D statue in the post, I ordered it 8 weeks ago (I live in England ) , it was well worth the wait, he looks sooo cool, highly recommend getting a 3D printed model when u get Achilles Luke :)
i see im 2 YEARS late to reply but i dont think many people do this simply because the helmet looks cool but rather it shows their dedication towards the game itself
I just wish the helmet was the easiest part no reason to show your entire dedication to the game from just a helmet it should at least be the whole of the armor
I feel that this is worth mentioning: Those numbers you were using are only for Level 5 of the Commendations. The counters reset after you complete each Level. Meaning, in the case of No Hard Feelings, that you have to get hundreds of thousands of kills before the 486,000 of Level 5.
You didn't take into account you need at LEAST 4 players for your company to become "active", because if you don't, any kill you do won't count towards the achiless commendations. I have the aquilles armor and helmet, I got it rather quickly with my company, which had like 70 very active members.
meh achilles is the cancer of halo 5 it doesn't requires as much skill as it requires time and it encourages things like farming kills in warzone where you and your team intentionally ignore bosses and AI only to trap the enemy team in their main spawn and farm the max amount of kills per game
I think this amour was a good idea by 343I. The biggest issue I see from it is people team stacked in Warzone who just farm kills. I would have also liked to see some other amours unlocked through commendations. Achilles amour is the only amour I see in Halo 5 and go "wow, that players has Achilles"

I played a game of Halo 3 Classic Throwback in Halo 5’s social arenas, and we played Capture The Flag on their remake of The Pit. I grabbed a sniper rifle, was killed, but I baited it by throwing a plasma grenade at it so it would stick immediately and I got a triple kill from the grave because three people went to go pick it up and the same time. I got a From The Grave, Triple Kill, And Cluster Luck medal.
343 could add New Achiles helmet variation on the req packs, like they did to helioskrill who had to complete all campains on Halo mcc legendary difficulty
I bought the game like 11 days after release. I got like 16 hours and then left it for R6S as that game is better but now. 375 days later from my last campaign save I started playing the game again on breakout and swat and I'm having the time of my life it is so addictive

ikr, exactly! @ that pace it would take a solo player a few decades to get it done lol. A solo player would have to play the same 4 month grind 100 times. 400 months > 3 decades- that's pretty gnarly from that perspective
Me and my group went crazy on Halo 5. We would save up 100s of thousands of req points trying to get the Achilles set from gold packs. We didn’t know you have to make a Spartan group or whatever. We got at least 60k kills between just 3 of us. We would’ve met the criteria if we had known from the beginning. Now we came back 2 years later and found this out. All that work was for nothing cuz 98% of the armor in Halo 5 is trash
They actually shut down the original halo waypoint anyways, plus most groups already have the set so unless you got it before the actual server shut down its physically impossible as of 2023
You can quit matches without being banned by changing to a new game on your Xbox and then go back to Halo. You have to go through the game intro, though.
Dude I wish i could at least at the very least be on the mcc home screen go to profile career thing and see achilles challenges right there and the you could go solo in any order to get the pieces and the easiest part would be getting the helmet you just play the game regularly and eventually you would get this helmet and be able to enjoy it gorgeous view on your spartans body as you play but for those who like hardcore playing halo you can go for the rest of the armor now one thing is for sure people will know an entire achilles armor man from a regular helmet only achilles armor man. And for those like me we get a nice sweet helmet for the elites oh im sorry i meant SPARTANS there is the whole armor. Also make it so the specific color of red or blue that are unique only to those who have the helmet of achilles can actually have on of the two on them in team play. That way you satisfy all
Dig the math, really neat stuff, but as other comments mention, you do need a minimum of 4 players to even start a company and work towards those commendations. To be fair, you could just have 3 "dead" accounts join with you and it would pretty much be you alone going for it...but man, the total time dedicated is mind boggling...
If you receive the Achilles's armor, you wanna know why you should never change it for any other armor in Halo 5? Because it will be the only armor you actually EARNED.

If your going solo and really need they helmet and you really hate team work, Get ready to waste a fraction of your life on the couch. By the time you get it (assuming it didn't came in your req pack), halo 6 would had came unless you go nonstop and fast. Tbh, I already enjoy having the EVA [C] helmet (aka Wrath) and mark VI armor. I rather keep the deathly smile face. Already enough work with reqs.
my spartan company is recruiting and we are close to getting the Achilles helmet. we are fireteam indigo and we will most likely recruit anyone. we just need some active players to grind the last few commendations with us!
I found out. You look up Spartan company on Google and then you find the link that takes you to the area that you join. You activate a filter and search for the companies's name. Once you do that you click on the company and join. You have to be signed into your Xbox account on the website.

I have a company that people, if you want to join, go to halo waypoint and find statues of sanghelios. we love new people to play with and we dont really care what you do as long as you put forth.

Gavin Thompson whats ur gamertag, and im mainly set on achilles but do u think if u make a custom game and farm one of ur friends for certain achievements u need for achilles u could achieve achilles or no?
Do u have to have a company because when I go to waypoint and go to commendations it says 64% and some other percentage so once I get to 100% do u still unlock it even if ur not in a company?
