How to Get the BEST Start in Scorched Earth - Beginner's Guide - Ark: SE 

How to survive? 1) Don't run....ever, during the day. Don't do it. 2) Find water quickly 3) Wolves on this map are OP 4) Get something that will fly as soon as possible, even that moth thing early game is worthwhile. Argents are OP as heck. 5) Fire and oil, things die when you put them on fire, fast. 6) Get your own well ASAP.....this is a desert map. 7) Learn the ways of the desert, check the wind, build those electric windmills. Wind is your friend for dependable electricity...you need 100% all the time for it to be effective like that. 8) Clay and wood. Adobe is there for a reason, you can encase the building in steel if you need to, but live inside adobe. 9) The map is out to kill you, always. Never forget this point, the whole of the map is out to kill you. Blessed is the Desert Maker, bless his coming and in path. Paul Moad'ib!

eat the cactus, gives water My best start and permanent base is near at well close to corner (60,70), on the large flat (where Neebs did his barn). Nearly no predator, large flat for building, and plenty of metal just off the shelf above. Best place to start and stay

Pro tip on Scorched Earth: Don't spawn inside of a cactus.

No no no, Scorched Earth isn’t difficult at all. It’s a peaceful wonderfully beautiful place. It has a lovely climate and lots of really friendly critters. At least if it’s OPPOSITE DAY!! 😆 Great video Phlinger! Keep the great content coming bud! 💪🏼👍🏼

I just started a scorched world and went to the MIDDLE SECTION set up a base and thanks to the guide I got a level 86 raptor.

I generally take the first spawn and then see if I am closer to green ob or not. If I am I try to run the gauntlet to get to the eastern side of the green ob, that little long flat area just above the water is very peaceful as far as aggressive carnivores are concerned, you often have 1 to 2 moschops in the area, a couple of lystros etc. Otherwise I head West-South-West to a tiny little flat area above the water that is the southern part of the large flat area in the middle of the map. You can block off the ramps leading into this area making it a safe place unless something falls from the mesa above. Both spots do not get scorching hot and the advantage of the green ob is easy access to the moschops, easy access to Thylas... and a good base to use to make wind turbine power. You just have to build on the north entrance to the ob lake and build north until it is scorching hot, this is where the wind never drops below enough to keep them generating power (though wind does fluctuate). Issues with green ob, nothing major is near it. No caves, no argies, no rexes (though the rex triangle isn't too far south), not yuty and not the wyvern pit.... so for later game is becomes a bit of a liability.

I have always been a casual ark player... Played island, abberation and rag on evolved on heave boosted servers... then finally decided to go offical... got a nice little base going on the first map... Today I tried scorched.... Died 3 times before even building or fighting anything....
