i’ve been using my iPad Pro as my main device since December 2020, i’m only a student, but the pencil and magic keyboard makes it really convenient and easy to use, I changed my old laptop for the iPad, and it works superbly. its grate for taking notes, both with the apple pencil and with the magic keyboard.
But how do you Write your essays? I used the iPad Pro aswell, but had to change it for a MacBook, due to the fact That the Microsoft Office Apps on the iPad sucked!! For example the Word App, doesn‘t offer the function (bibliography etc) I really Need to write my essays for my studies. 😅
@@arkcorps9138 i am sorry! I am from germany, my english is so Bad. :/ I Googled it and it says its something like Where your „List of References“ goes. Or list of Literatur? That die example did Not work In the word App on the iPad And Some other settings / adjustments Most of the Universities require.. But i am happy ist worked out for you! :)
Magic keyboard really changes everything for me on an iPad. Sure it’s not a computer, but it essentially functions as a computer for me. Plus convenience and easy makes the iPad easier and more enjoyable to use versus my touch screen HP.
I have used an ipad pro as my main and only device for several years now. All I would like is that apple continues to develop it thinking of it as a tablet. Yes the keyboard folio is great but not for my use as that for me counts as having a laptop. I really like the tablet only design to work and doodle using the pencil. I only use the on-screen keyboard and have a logi mouse for spreadsheets. So like you said the experience is different for everyone so go ahead and have fun exploring yours
Love the video! My iPad used to be an addition to my macbook, but lately it’s been te other way around! I’m a 2nd year law student and the iPad is so good for notetaking etcetera. I now only really use my macbook for editing large documents, but for almost everything else I prefer the iPad. Also much lighter when I have in-person classes and need to carry it around campus 😃
I bought a refurbished iPad 6th generation in April. Although it isn’t the newest device on the market I’m totally happy with it!! As a student I mainly use it for taking notes with GoodNotes or sometimes take zoom classes when I’m not at home since I use my MacBook for that. The iPad is more handy than my laptop and when I have to go to Uni I always take it with me. My iPad has 128 GB of storage and that’s definitely enough; I need this much storage!
Great video Tom! As a creator who solely uses an iPad for photos and videos I definitely agree on you on this one. There’s a fine line between a laptop and an iPad but we just gotta appreciate what iPads can do these days. They’re such amazing tools now! 🔥
New subscriber here. I bought an iPad to edit manuscripts. It's way easier and more intuitive for me to mark up the manuscript on the left side and write corresponding notes on the right side in split screen, instead of trying to edit the manuscript via typing on the laptop. There's just something about writing by hand that connects better with the creative side of the brain.
The magic keyboard changed the iPad for me, I was always on the fence of buying it because it was $300 but back in May, Amazon had the magic keyboard on sale for 200 and ever since it came in, I don’t think there has been a day that I haven’t used it. Really changes the experience for sure
You made a very great point in this video. I ignored Apple’s marketing and use my iPad Pro as an addition to my MacBook Air-not a replacement. Doing so, allows me to maximize the capabilities of both devices.
Tom I loved this video! Often times I find myself not using my iPad enough, so watching your iPad videos helps me appreciate what an amazing device the iPad is. Thanks for sharing!
As an Artist all I need is my Apple Pencil and im good. I find that typing on the Virtual Keyboard is faster using Swipe or Scribble, than typing on a regular keyboard is for me (not a fast typer). So I scribble all my notes or anything I need to type and I love it. Saves time, space, and money using the iPad with Scribble and Swipe rather than an expensive Keyboard!
I use and love the ipad Mini! Use it for reading in bed in the evening (love how light it is), for watching Netflix, Apple+ oder Disney+ in the train when I am out to my way to work and the kids use it for school and to play apps. At the moment we have the iPad mini 2 and love it. We will get the 6th gen soon, maybe for christmas :)
In my personal day to day experiences, my opinion (going back to my gen 1 iPad,) is when you add a keyboard case and stylus to an iPad, there is no difference between an iPad and laptop. I put my laptops into storage and I have never looked back. I just took delivery on a new iPad 10 and over the last week, my opinion has only grown stronger. That being said, it most certainly depends on the user and his or her needs. Love your work, keep going.
I only really use tech videos for what I’m specifically searching for, but this video was so genuine and helpful (plus loved Arietty in the background) so I’m subscribing - thanks xx
The iPad pro is lovely. I've got the non pro one that can still use the Apple Pencil V1 and I love it. I use it for drawing, writing on PDFs, writing journals in Drafts, video editing, podcast editing and recording, and then general browsing. I have a desktop but I spend most of my time on the iPad.
I bought a second hand ipad pro as I wanted to switch to digital art. It's been amazing for drawing but now I'm gonna try use it for my studies more. The battery lasts a good time but I really wish it would last a few days
As a complete Dumbo, can you explain and show how I can use basics of note taking, transfer dates to calendar then how to save and access notes after. Thanks
Man, your videos are amazing. Quality is top notch. Quick question: What is the anime playing in the background? I think you should add them to your description. Lol
You hit the nail on the head- the best feature of the ipad once you decide to try it, is the pure enjoyment. It is just a more enjoyable device for me overall.
The pencil would be more ideal if there was a way to keep it in place considered with the cases. Natively I mean. In one of those elegant apple type of ways. Just so I can throw it in my bag and not worry about it coming of or falling of if I pull it out in a dangerous situation, I sketch a lot on location, while the current solution and hardware are great and elegant I sort of miss the click in stylus at those moments.
Not to make this a Samsung Galaxy Tab S vs iPad comparison but having owned both, the writing experience with the S Pen is unparalleled. They don’t even come close. The Apple Pencil just looks better. Also, after getting the iPad Pro 2020 I realised: the app gap is not that big as I had initially thought, front camera placement matters, hold the iPad vertically, then try split screen. Good luck with that.
I bought ipad 9th gen I kinda regretted buying it cause not much games like a lappy but im in love with it now Notes r easy , pencil is like cherry on top I think in future i will save up and buy a better version too ♥️
Great RU-vid footage Byte Review...... I've lived of Laptops connected to larger monitors - but since Christmas 2022 I now use my iPad so much more as I'm in hotels and the iPad and Pencil really work together and in comparison the Pencil and laptop is a no go.... its lighter weight and on holiday it weights so much less in travel and often flying there are weight restrictions too..... I love Procreate (£10).... bargain....
ipad is not a laptop. but better tablet than most. the apps optimisation makes it better and nearer to a laptop in terms og usage. i can use 3d modeling app, design app like adobe, vectornator, procreate. most of my uses replaced my laptop.
…oh - quick question about the covers, the keyboard on the slim folio is supposed to be rubbish (no travel etc.) compared to the magic keyboard, what do you think?
I really enjoy your video, full of patience with enthusiasm. Keep it up, wish you get your first 50k subscription soon. Thank you so much for the video again, :-)
I have wanted the ipad for REALLY LONG but now,i feel like i want to get the ipad air 4 the problem is,i can't decide there both really good! my dream was the ipad pro M1.but, i can't decide 😩😭 which one do you think i should get 🤔 which one is more USEFUL and WORTH MY MONEY?
I REALLY don't need an iPad...but damn I'm tempted to pull the trigger on one as it's the last big thing to complete my Apple Ecosystem (have an m1 macbook pro, airpods max, apple watch series 6 and an iphone se). I'm holding off to see if they do anything with a new mini this year...it makes more sense for me to have a small one then a big one (though the air is calling me!).
The thing that annoys me the most when someone compares an iPad or try’s to make sense of what an iPad is when customers ask the question ‘isn’t an iPad just a bigger iPhone?” Then what’s even more annoying than that when you see this happening at BestBuy; and the customer is talking to an Apple Specialist and the Apple specialist doesn’t say anything in response to the question or comment. Me personally, I use an iPad Pro 2021 for work. Since my work has transitioned to doing all work flows through teams, the iPad Pro has been awesome. The iPad Pro is just much more convenient to complete work than a laptop, namely apps load faster, you can swipe through the lock screen faster on an iPad than a laptop, the iPad Pro weighs less, it has a smaller foot print and their are multiple avenues of interacting with the device where a laptop or MacBook just offers mouse and keyboard avenues.
First time I’ve seen you. 98% and I subscribed. 1% deducted for saying crazy and another for saying awesome. I shall look forward to your next instruction.
Hi, can the notes taking in remarkable communicates with the notes in ipad? and which one you think is better in taking notes and in brain storming? Thanks.
