will there ever be a model that gets smaller towards the end, it would help those with devil tails cosplay more, maybe more lenght too. but anyway this looks cool as hell to mess around with in a cosplay

When covering it with a sleeve you've made, what do you do with the strings that extend from the end of the tail?

You can place them anywhere, they won't interfere with the movement of the tail :) If not, you can cut them, but make sure that you don't cut too much, or you won't be able to tighten the tail!

Mine is wagging aggressively when in pause mode....and won't reset
