I recently came across a lot of people's New Year's resolutions of not buying new clothes for 2024. I'm currently in Prague and I stocked up for the winter here, but I'm heading home tomorrow and as soon as I get home, I'm getting rid of a ton of the "it's so cute but I never wear it but it's cute so I'm keeping it" items that I have. After that, no more thrifting. I'm making due with what I have. I'll even try to make a capsule wardrobe of some sort.
I literally only have clothes I wear. I refuse to keep things that don’t fit my current lifestyle. I couldn’t imagine keeping things for the day they come back into style for myself. I LOVE fashion, I guess just not enough to clutter my life lol.
I found a vintage Napier chain and pearl long necklace I’m just in love with! Looks modern but so unique! My 31 year old fashionable son paid me several compliments about!!!
I steam so many clothes, to include years of dance costumes, theatre garments, and the like. I have been looking for a stronger handheld…thank you for providing. Love your style and and thrifting excursions. Happy New Year! 🎉
I just recently got some cute baskets for my closet shelf to hold my hats, gloves (yes, even in Florida) and scarves. Makes it easier to organize and find the ones I want. Cashmere wash sounds like a great idea
I love the video. I have thrifted so many cool things that I haven't worn. Or saved from my younger years and now some is back in style. My problem is the confidence to shake up my wardrobe and actually wear it because I am shy and don't want to deal with all the comments like " you never wear skirts" or that type of thing. My insecurities are the worst and that with body image issues just compounds it. I hope to be more daring this year. Otherwise it's all just wasted.
I feel this in so many ways so I really appreciate you sharing this. I think a lot of us have a dream wardrobe in our head but actually executing it takes a lot of courage. A lot of the outfits I put together I end up toning it down with my sneakers or something more comfortable like a hoodie. It’s not everyday that I wear my best well put together outfits. But maybe once a week I head out in something that brings me confidence. But each time I do it my hesitation the next time goes down if that makes sense. I feel like style is like a muscle we have to keep on working out. And each time it gets easier an easier ❤️
@@lauravonv You're right. It does make sense. I used to dress more freely when I was younger and I miss it. I need to push myself more. Otherwise it just ends up being more regret. You look great in everything so it's hard to imagine you being challenged. Thanks for the comment.
Well, i had a Duh moment when you mentioned looking up colour theory on your phone! I’ve been trying to keep what colours go with what in my head, sometimes with not so good results 😮Thanks for the tip. But…cashmere in Florida? I can’t even! I’ve been thrifting cashmere for years, and one of the best quality sweaters I have was from the men’s dept. ❤ your hair cut.
I do the exact same thing all the time! I’ll be going in circles trying to remember what looks good together and then I’ll suddenly remember color theory on my phone 😂 we all can use the reminder ❤️
