As a licensed esthetician, this was so informative and needed as I’m a frequent waxer. Thank you for doing such a deep dive and educating us on a common concern! ❤️
You've become my go-to science based beauty channel. Your content is not just super informative but also concise so that a beginner and easily overwhelmed person like me can follow along. I'm in awe that you're providing such a wealth of information for free 😍
I use The Magic Stick from Koko Rose Beauty after shaving and it clears up my ingrowns and dark spots within days. Literally magic (and it’s Black esthetician owned! ✊🏾)
I’m 24 and have been struggling with bumps and with hyperpigmentation since my early teens. No one ever taught me how to shave properly so I was getting irritation ever since. I really wish I had something like this earlier
I used to have bumps when I shave my armpits now I use the venus gel and the razor it's life changing. Highly recommended thank u doctor. Chloé Yasmin put me on to this.
Doctor, please continue what you are doing. Thank you so much. People like you are hope to people like me that melanated skin can be ssooooo gorgeous without makeup. ❤ We may even need to know where to find your clinic😢
Hi Dr. Alexis, I was wondering if you would be interested in making a video on taking care of the underarm area and how antipersperants affect the skin in that area. Thank you for making these videos!
This was just recommended to me, but this is exactly what I’m going through. Itchy itchy! Itchy. I will never shave that area again I thought. Thank you for this information Dr!
Currently ordering the Venus product via Amazon. Your videos have been helping my life! "Twin" where have you been?! LOL!! Thank you for your helpful and life saving videos. You're awesome and beautiful as well girl. Continue being radiant.
Thank you! This is by far the most informative video I’ve ever came across! The break down and product knowledge you’ve given us is definitely top tier! I’m definitely purchasing a lot of these to see what works best for me. ❤️
The Venus razor is the same razor on several men’s razor and even one of those womens brands sold at Walmart that was less expensive. I bought 7 razors and discovered half of them were the same just different packaging and price. I returned all of them and bought a mens open comb safety razor and blades. Best shave ever and good Blades are so cheap I can change blades as often as I like. I learned about shaving from watching a men’s shaving channel.
exactly, bc i’ve tried both upwards and downwards and still get bumps. whenever i rub upward tho i feel the prickly hairs ( a couple days or so after i’ve shaved ) and then downwards it just feels soft. so which way is it growing? i’d believe upwards so would i shave upwards?
I started using the cerave retinol on my face and it worked well I started using it on my bikini area. When I say it lightened that area and no ingrown hairs.
Oh my God, Dr. Alexis !! I’ve been looking for you for a while.. it’s Bebe ( hair braids in Houston) when you where a medical student. Great to see you here. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is so helpful… I have been struggling since I was 13 with these issues and generally untreated, because I’ve had other pressing issues. Needed this! Can you do a video or point me to one that you’ve done, on extremely dry lips? My daughter struggles with this and I have tried everything including drinking tons of water, beeswax and she’ll be good one day and right back to cracked, peeled, bleeding etc.
I hope the doc answers but as someone with a similar issue and it's going to sound awkward but nipple cream. I have extremely dry cracked lips even with good practices and a lanolin-based lip balm or just a tube of nipple cream which has the same ingredients for cheaper changed my life!
Finally a clear face giving CLEAR skin tips & your a Dr. ♥️ Edit: SHE’S right! You have to exfoliate at least 1 day before shaving. That has help me so much & using 5 or more bladed razors 🪒!!!!!
Could you do a video with Tips on foods that are not great for our skin? Thanks. Love your channel!! And thank you for giving us all these tips for free

So glad you mentioned pustules. I have them hormonally every single month for close to 40 years now. I mentioned it to my gynecologist but couldn't seem to get any answer and yes it seems really weird to explain that I have pubic acne, but no one seems to help me still. I had a gynecologic surgery recently and I again begged the doctor if there was something that could be done with one I have had for more than a year. She said yes she would, but then she did nothing again. Sometimes they take years to go away, and it's not even where I need to shave.
First of all Doc... you're freaking gorgeous! I have never been able to watch a full video on skin stuff but you explained everything so well and didn't even notice the 15 minutes went by so fast. Thank you so much. This was greatly helpful.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I just moved to the beach and as a mom of 2 I’m still here learning. Thank you for helping me get a perfect bikini line for the beach 🫶🫶
I am saving this video ! I struggle hard with folliculitis and ingrowns ! My waxer has guided me in the right path but its really difficult to understand why im struggling . Laser hair removal is a goal of mine to get but not right now ! 😢
Dr. Alexis, of the subject at hand however, I wanted to know, how is your mom doing? She and I have something in common. We are both in remission. Please give her my best wishes 🙏
Hi Dr. Alexis ! Thank you for this video. I’ve needed these recommendations for years. Can you please do some videos on nail care for natural nails? I’ve got what seems like chronic hang nails. There are so many products that seem too strong for natural nails. What nail files are appropriate? So many things to learn! Unfortunately, nail salons don’t seem to specialize in natural nails, and I was told a dermatologist is who to ask. Thanks in advance!!! Angie
after removing the hang nails, i’ve used jojoba oil on the affected areas, nails, and cuticles. when i didn’t have jojoba oil on hand, i just used vaseline. i don’t know if that will help you or not. great if it does, sorry if it doesn’t.
Thank you for such informative content. I don't know if you have discussed this before, but if not, would you do a video about acne on the back, shoulders, and chest and how to safely get rid of it, and the hyperpigmentation caused by that?
Not sure if you have sensitive skin but I use diluted detol and exfoliate with it . This may irritate some people but my skin is so clear and like butter exfoliating with it and using a proper moisturizer after . Again it may not be for everyone but my mom introduced me to it years ago as a teen and I never turned back 🥳
Hey Dr. Alexis! Thank you for doing these videos , i appreciate you so much ! Can you please do a video addressing discoloration on the hands knuckles and armpit, elbows etc .
Thank you so much once again Dr Stephens for this very important and educational video that I needed ❤️ My daughter and I appreciate everything you teach us. Be blessed 🙌🏽 😇 🙏🏽 ☺️ 💕
Another great informative video, THANK YOU! Can you provide a video on laser hair removal for melanated skin? What to expect, how to prepare and recommendations/advice? Not sure if you've already addressed this topic 🥴...
I was just looking thru her older videos for this. I can't find anything specific but I vaguely remember her mentioning that she does this at her clinic and the ND yag laser is the one for brown skin. But I'd like a video as well 👀 😂
@@MrsLane92 Ditto 😉! So many opinions out here about laser removal for melanated skin. I'm not sure if the plunge is safe 😫, but it sure would simplify things. Thanks for the heads up, will try to find the video for additonal information 🙃.

Loving this. Thank you for always bringing good content to us to keep us looking good Dr. Alexis. I always come to you first when i want to learn about a product or what ingredients means.
Thank you so much for sharing this information it had been so helpful. I have very very sensitive skin and I have tried so many products on first use and end up with rashes and burn irritating and itchy skin. So knowing now to always take I consideration a gentle product is great. So helpful 😌
Hiya Dr Alexis, thanks so much for this video. Would you consider reviewing hair removal creams for the bikini line? It’s a form of hair removal less discussed and there’s risk of chemical burn. 110% grateful I came across this video and your content! Love from 🇬🇧
Physical exfoliation is only recommended 2-4x per week. Chemical exfoliation varies depending on the actives and composition of the individual product. I use the magic stick from kokorose daily and it’s a life saver
You are amazing and I totally love your videos. You’re an amazing doc! I’m a physician myself and you’ve helped me with my melasma which has been a struggle. I wish you were in phoenix so I could see you!
Thank you 😊 so much ! You always give great education on these products. You rock! If I was in your state .. I’d definitely be a patient. May God bless you and your Bussiness
Hi Dr. Alexis, I love your videos they are very informative and educational. Would like your take on laser hair removal do’s and don’t and if you do how to go about it. Thank you 😊

Thank you so much for this. I have been getting really painful pustules in the bikini line every time I sweat. I stopped working out because of it. I need to find a derm to go to but it's such an embarrassing thing to talk about.
@@Taylor_mamaof2 nope. I've been to several docs and unfortunately at the time of the appt, I don't have any active ones so they prescribe meds that just do nothing.
Thank you so much for this information!! The products and practices you recommended, are they also good if you wax consistently? I've been waxing for more than 10 years and what I notice most is ingrown hairs from time to time but they always leave a dark mark 😭
Hi, Dr. Alexis! Firstly, I love your videos! Thank you for such informative content that is easy to understand. I was wondering your thoughts on products such as Veet for shaving the bikini line?
Hi Dr. Alexis, thank you so much for these videos they are very informative and helpful! It’s so hard sometimes to know what steps to take in order to protect your skin. I was wondering if you have or would make a video on pcos and hirsutism. I have a lot of hair growth and struggle with in grown hairs and dark spots. Thank you again!
Hi Dr. Alex, hope you and your family are well. I was wondering if you have a video or could make a video about facial hair, specifically under the chin and neck and how to prevent hyper pigmentation and ingrown hairs in that area. It may be that the things you recommended in this video would work for that too, but I’m not sure
Hi Dr. Alexis. First, thank you for this video. You mentioned laser hair removal at the beginning of this video. Are there any at home laser tools you would recommend?
