I used to be shy when I was 12-13 and got jealous of other girls who were confident. Now I understand how stupid I was for not liking myself because of that. I grow up and learned that people will always judge,but that doesn't matter as long as you like yourself.I'm 16 now and so much more confident and outgoing.

When im always in class and the teacher calls on me for a question my face turns red and my voice stutters because i always get nervous. This happens to me all the time. 😥

This really helped me. I have depression and people thought I was that weird sad person who never talked. I was and still am verry academic and nerdy. I will never forget the time that I was studying in the library and the group of mean girls pushed all my binders and notes of the table. All of these tips really helped me and I have a group of 3 friends which just hang out. One lunchtime these girls told me to go kill myself, and my friend eva stood up for me. Whenever this happens we just shield the person from any more hurt. Thank u so much xx

I used to be very very shy, because I always doubted that I would make friends and I would think that people would judge me. But now after years with my best friend(I met her in fifth grade I'm in ninth now) she helped me realize that it doesn't matter what you look like or anything it's just to be who you really are. I'm so lucky to have someone I am so close to and to be by my side. Also, I eventually stopped thinking that I'm so ugly and fat and dumb, because I knew in myself that I had more than that, I mean I would always get the best grades, be in enrichment, and I'm nice to people. I regret being so shy because now I have had my chance to meet new people.I used to be terrified to sing on stage in front of people and the first time I did with an audience, I knew that this is what I wanted to pursue. Now to this day, I'm a singer and actress with confidence! Anyways sorry if that was too long to read so here are my tips now: -When there are opportunities given for you to socialize, just go for it because I promise you, you will regret not being friends with that someone earlier -When you do start talking to someone, just be yourself! When I do I automatically just start being weird😂 -Love who you are and embrace that because you can't change who you are so accept it -Talk to people that you sit next to, just about anything -If a new student seems like they need some help just become friends with them and show them around(how I met my best friend) -Here is a scientific one to feel more confident (credits to Alisha Marie for teaching this) strike a power pose for two minutes -Just be positive!!! I'm super shy once I counted how many words I said in a day and it was probably only like 18 .. Wow

QUICK TIP: If you don't know which types of questions to ask (in school for example)...ask WHY? If in math a teacher shows you the formula to solve a problem, ask why do we use that formula? How does it make sense, and what's the story behind it? Some teachers won't be able to answer, but maybe sometimes they can...and it's important to understand the WHY of things, not just the procedure and the HOW. :) I hope this helped!

I'm at a new school now and I only know one person in my class, but we're not close. I also have other schoolmates in that University but they're in different tracks (I'm Grade 11 btw). It has been 3 weeks since the start of the school year and I still haven't made friends yet, but I know I shouldn't rush about having a friend. I'm just an acquaintance to my classmates, and some still doesn't know me. Why? Because I'm quiet when I'm at school. I just don't have the courage to talk to them that's why I'm just sitting on my desk the whole time while waiting for our next teacher. But my classmates are there eating and chatting together. So it really makes me a loner. But I don't want to be sympathized, I want to be independent but still, I want to hang out with someone. I like being alone but sometimes, it depends on the situation. I really feel like an outcast... My classmates only talk to me when they need to tell me something, or when they need something, but atleast they still talk to me. On our group chat, I'm not chatting with them, but I noticed that many of my classmates have their birthdays on that day, so I also wanted to greet them. It was the 1st time that I chatted on our group chat, but when I did, one of my classmates asked, "Dude, who is (my name)?" I know it's not a big deal but I can't help but be distracted by what my classmate has said. I've been his classmate for 3 weeks now and he still doesn't know me?... Haha, I'm really a ghost in our room. Although I know it's my fault because I don't talk too much, so my presence isn't that noticed.

Last year was my first year of high school and it is not that i am super shy but I do have social anxiety. There were only two freshman in my school that played softball. Me and this girl who i used to be friends with. Long story short that friend group bullied me and I almost lost my life bc of these 6 girls. So i have played soccer in the fall and i was nervous but ok and i ended up having a great time. But softball was different, on March 3rd we had out first practice and i was extremely anxious. For some reason I was so scared and I did not even no why. Thoughts went threw my head i was thinking "New couch, SENIORS, jrs and i was even sacred to talk to the sophomores. That I have played with for years. Everyday i would wake up and be petrified to go to practice.The entire day there would be a pit in my stomach just thinking of what was going to happen at practice.and nothing bad ether happens. I have never acted like this before and my parents were confused, i have always told them about my anxiety. I have even seen doctors and therapist but they did not under stand. for some reason i did not either, anyway the month went on and i said that enough is enough and i tried to come out of me shell.we had a team sleep over one night and it was awesome!!! I am a very funny person and the jokes i told that night everyone loved. I no that seems stupid but it made me feel more confident in myself. the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months. In may i did something unheard of for me and as FRESHMAN on varsity I invited my team to a pool party at my house. I am still shook of how i did that. thinking back at me in march to me now it is crazy and how much i have grow by myself and with my team. I was that shy freshman and now i am a outgoing sophomore!!

In my old school I had so many friends and I was so noisy but when I go to my new school I’m just so shy and everyone in my school they are so rude and I’m lonely at my school but at lunch I have 2 friends from my old school and I sit with them but at class everyone hate me and bully me That’s my story 😢

So in 2016 I moved 2 hours away from my old school, my friends, and everything I had known for my whole life up until then. When I got to the school these girls asked me to hang out with them in my first day. I was pretty happy. But whenever I was around them I always felt like they were going to judge me if I said something weird. So to avoid that, I spent almost 4 months being the shy, quiet girl. Which is very difficult for me because I tend to be shy around people when I first meet them, but the second time I see them, I am entirely crazy and not shy *at all*. I would always see how these girls were always trash talking others, and gossiping. On the first day of June, I decided to start fresh. I was what I called the 'new me'. I started hanging out with new people. One girl who is now my best friend was probably the nicest person in the class towards me when I got there. The rest of them were also just like her.
