This is the easy way to go from Kalamazoo (or points east) to Chicago Union Station, to O'Hare Airport. It is affordable, not stressful, and fast. The ticket from Kalamazoo was $28 each and the "L" ride was $3 each. No Traffic, and no parking fees either. There is also a Metra train that will take you from Union Station to Ohare via the North Central Service line, but it only operates from the early afternoon through rush hour. The Ohare Metra station is next to the rental car terminal where you get on the people mover to the terminals.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. I have some questions. I have never been to Chicago. But I will travel to O'hare airport and from there to Union Station on the blue line. Because from there I will get on the AMTRAK for Detroit MI. I will be carrying a 50 pound suitcase and a backpack, Do you think it is safe for a woman to travel alone on the blue line at 3am? The other question Is there another stop where I can get off and that doesn't have so many stairs to climb?

No I wouldn't do it alone at 3AM. There's other stops but further from Union Station. Google the map of the L train.
