Great Video and thanks for taking the time to do this. I've got a JVC and a Kenwood unit in my vehicles. They're both "higher end" and have Wireless Carplay, costing around $700-$800 each. Even those have a 2 second lag on audio but when wired its pretty much instant. I think the lag is just due to using carplay wirelessly and totally normal. I don't have lag when swiping the screen tho like it does when you swipe. Overall the Hieha looks decent and doable. Not perfect but decent. Just bought a 2022 Nissan Frontier and looking for ideas so thanks for the video.
Extreme lagging and hanging using Android Auto wirelessly when giving Google Assistant voice commands. Unplugging/plugging device and restarting phone fixes issue temporarily but it always returns. I suspect it's a buffering issue with the device. Voice commands longer than a few words hang. Eventually all commands hang as the buffer is full.
Any idea how to use this device if I don’t have a “CarPlay” button/option on my head unit. Neither of my 2019 Tundra nor 2017 Subaru Outback have that button which you had on your factory head unit.
Did you have an audio problem with the USB cable? We have tried everything (Skoda Fabia 3 with iPhone X 16.5 IOS) , second iPhone, original apple USB cable but the Carplay audio is terrible and it changes from normal to sounding like a broken CD-player when you play music. I also found out lots of people are having that issue. Does this way of connecting fix that, do you know? ;)
@@randomfixes Which settings would be relevant, I guess Carplay works or it doesn't work 100%, there are no settings that can fix a randomly occurring problem...it's just bad communication over USB I guess. The only thing I can think of is updating the software in the car unit with an SD card, but I don't know how to get the original Skoda firmware updates for that...
@@vossenspringer The audio settings, sometimes automatic enhancements features trip the audio output, for the update, you either find it on their official website or go to one of their dealerships.
