How to Get Your Book into Bookstores 

Great video. I love how you mentioned cold calling. I have my books in over 20 independent bookstores around the country and I did it all through cold calling. Obviously, start local, but don't limit yourself or your book to just local bookstores. Great video and great advice!

I took my book into my local bookstore, talked to the staff, they took my book to review, and now it's on the shelves! I only have about 38 reviews for Whispers of War (Aliens Among the Stars Book 1), but it sounds pretty intimidating to submit to Barnes and Nobles since I have a 4/5 star average on Amazon and people don't leave reviews often. I think giveaways gave me some more negative reviews than if I had just sold books normally (a lot more expensive when you only have book 1 out).

Less helpful than I'd hoped. Good video, but most of the suggestions offered are things I've already done, and which haven't really worked all that well. e.g. Approaching B&N is a waste of time, they are overwhelmed with authors promoting their own books, and are not especially eager for more. Further, the distribution through Ingram doesn't really work very well, because the cost is much too high. Still, she offers many suggestions and the new author should give them a try and see what works. But, trust me, it is NOT "easier than you think." It takes hard work and commitment, plus perseverance. Don't give up, and keep pushing, but there is no magic bullet that you are going to find in this or any other video.

Hi there, I have registered myself onto Lulu.com yesterday, and filled in just about everything I needed to publish my book. (For all those who are think of publishing on Lulu, it's very easy and intuitive.) But, I took a break yesterday, and now when I want to log in to continue my publishing process, I can't log in: it's says invalid username. I have tried contacting your support team, and haven't had any responses. Again, guys try Lulu! The problem may just be on my computer. Can you (Lulu) please help me?

How can you buy your books or journals in bulk.

The first step is not the marketing plan. The first step is figuring out how to get it to pass all the REQUIREMENTS. There are about 100 requirements. The pictures have to be a certain dots per inch, and not go past the boarder. There must be an index at the front and it must correlate with the chapter titles throughout the book. There must be titles to each chapter and all the pages must be numbered. Plus 94 other requirements which are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to figure out. THAT'S the problem with getting the book in bookstores....... not.... "having a marketing plan".
