Ok this was actually SUPER helpful so THANK YOU!! Seeing someone actually go through how to get in and out of the band takes some of the anxiety out of it. You def made this process seem less scary !!

My gym doesn't have an assisted pull-up machine, so I have to use bands on the squat rack. Getting there - been working on my upper body strength for 6 months. It's a slow process, but I'm determined to get my first pull up in the next 18 months.

Oh my god I don’t know why but I’m reflecting on the time I tried a free trial at this one gym. And a muscle mommy was using resistance bands to do pull ups. She was so muscular and strong, and beautiful. I asked her what she was doing with the bands. She taught me ways to use resistance bands and was just so nice and cool. Thank you to that amazing woman at the gym. ❤💪🏼

one thing I want to add when doing pull ups with a resistance band is that it give most assistance at the bottom of the movement, which is the easiest part. When you get more to the top of your pull up the band obviously has less tension on it and so it gives you less support. I hope that makes sense. By this I’m absolutely not saying it’s not good practicing with a resistance band because its GREAT, just wanted to share this so you can keep that in mind :) (Thanks Syd for putting out this video, awesome explanation!!)

It took me a long time to do my first unassisted chin-up (haven't done pull-ups yet). To this day I remember the feeling when I attempted the unassisted chin up being sure my shoulders won't go higher than my elbows. And mid-way I realised that my muscles are taking me up and my chin went above the bar. I was so excited I started yelling OMG OMG 😂

A chip up is still a pull up, just with a supinated grip. So technically u have done pull-ups 😉

When trying to build up strenght on either lat pulldown or assisted pull up machine I always get to a certain weight and then plateau. ☹️ any tipps?

I wanna try doing pull ups but my gym put the machine and the bars at the same spot which is lowkey the center (but not really the center) of the gym and I'm scared people are going to judge me and kinda laugh at me cause ALL THE BUFF GYM GUYS ARE THERE (but im still going to do it cause I HAVE to get over my gym anxiety I really LOVE going to the Gym) and MY BIGGEST FEAR is getting slapped in the face by the bands😅😅😅 P.s you really helped me with my gym anxiety LOVE YOU FOR THAT and also LOVE your account❤❤❤

Obviously all gyms are different, but maybe check if the barbell riggs in your gym have a pull-up-bar on them? I use these a lot, as they are also usually a bit less thick and therefore easier to hang on to 😅

Hi, I'm a MoCap performer and I gotta say you have some really useful and well rounded exercises on your channel. They are straightforward, not too complex and doable. Being in shape for an audition is a chore for me. Especially since motion capture sessions are getting more and more demanding. PS. You almost saw me in the new Resident Evil 4 game as Leon :)
