Hi! Loved your video, I did want to let you know the Texas exam is actually the same ASWB exam for LMSW. We do take a jurisprudence exam too but it’s just Texas rules and regulations for social work. I just took mine (and passed this week!!) and I went through the normal sign up process through ASWB 😃😉

Hi, I'm about to move to Texas by the tiime i finish my MSW. Do I have to do 3000 hours before taking the exam in Texas or I can go straight from graduation to schedule the exam?

In Florida, once you graduate then you apply to be a Registered CSW Intern. You can’t take the exam until you have a certain amount of hours in the field after graduation. I didn’t know LMSW was a thing until today.

This was such a great informational video! For the next one, I would love to see some graphs, written down information for the ones who rather a visual learning experience. Say you get your MSW License in one state, can you move to another state and retain that license or would you have to take a different test in that state?

Noted!! I appreciate that feedback. I think in my head I thought of visuals as just a little extra spice to the video -- but never considered how they will help the learning experience for visual learners!! I will remember this going forward :) Even though the licenses don't directly transfer, you don't have to re-test to get a license in a new state. You apply new to your new state, but you can submit your previous test score as part of the application.

Hi this video was very much informative Thank you! Just had one question about licensing once you get the LSW or MSW or LCSW is there a state specific license as well that one has to apply? Actually I’m a recruiter and have lots of position to fill in and I have never been so confused with education & licensing 😅 I primarly work with nurses and techs and the licensing for those positions is pretty straight forward… would really appreciate your help…TIA😀

Anyone know where to find a supervisor for clinical licensure in South Carolina? Google is failing me on this one, I can't find a list anywhere. Help would be great, even if someone has a name or two of a clinical supervisor for hire that would be amazing. Thanks

Facebook groups might help with this! Look for "social workers in south carolina" or something similar to that and likely the people in there will either have names for you or be an option for you!

I just decided today to pursue tne LCSW in CO after 3 years of graduating from grad school, having 2 kids and working with families (non clinical experience related). My 1st question is: Can I start the process to take the LCSW exam BEFORE I complete the supervised work hours ? ... because I'd like to focus on studying and pass my LCSW test and then get a job that offers the suppervised hours

Let me make sure I understand first we need to have a bachelors degree of any kind second we apply for the MSW program third we apply for a associate license while we’re completing the MSW? Fourth after we graduate the MSW we then begin working towards like the 2000 and 3000 hours required to take the national exam?

yes! but some states require you to complete your masters before applying to associates license, some allow you to apply in your last semester
