Hi Erin. Good question. I do reinforce the rear corners with clear packing tape, as it tends to tear sometimes at the fold of the lid at the corners. I don’t think I did this in the video, but when I tape the wrapping paper to the inside of the box, I often use clear packing tape, bc it seems to stick better to the inside brown cardboard than regular scotch tape. When I do that I apply the edge of The packing tape to the outside part of the wrapping paper and fold it over the top edges and down into the inside of the box. Because the packing tape is so wide, this allows me to reinforce the rim edges of the box, if that makes sense. Other than that, I don’t necessarily reinforce the outside wrapping paper with clear packing tape, unless a particular box or the type of wrapping paper I used appears to need more. I have never taped an entire box. It’s not a bad idea, but since I packed 60 boxes, that would be an awful lot of tape.

Yes, well, I use the wrong wording. I should have said taught or snug. My point was, you don’t want any wrinkles or sags in the paper, because that can happen in the back while wrapping these attached lid boxes.

Fair enough. It’s one of the first ones I ever did so it is probably longer than it needs to be. Just pull your finger across the time lapse bar to get to the parts that are most important to you. If you are watching from an iPhone you can hold your thumb down on the screen to speed it up 2X.

Tray, maybe it’s different in Canada, but our cardboard OCC Shoeboxes are 7 x 12”. I think maybe the old ones were 11 x 6”. The plastic OCC shoeboxes are 7.5 x 13“ (measured at the largest point, from the top). Also, these are inches I’m speaking of. You know, us Americans don’t do centimeters, LOL.
