Oh my goodness! This video is a life saver. I'm an overseas trained nurse newly employed in one of the NHS hospitals, honestly, I have been struggling with things like these but you have made my life easy. I will watch all your videos on this series repeatedly until they become part of my life. Thank you soooo much.🤗🥰🥰
I just came across this video looking a proper clinical handover and I am amazed! Your voice is so calming and you spoke really clearly. Everything you said and even the examples made it so easy to understand. Thank you heaps for this!
Thank you so much, this is super helpful. 2nd Year nurse, because of covid etc haven't actually given a proper handover yet. Going to use this to take notes and help practice! 💗
Ahh I know placement allocations are really tough at the moment due to Covid :( but I hope through this video series you will still be able to build on those core nursing skills :)! If you have any questions Charlotte you are more than welcome to message/email/ DM on insta and I will try my best to help ❤️
Hey I’m a newly qualified nurse childrens too. I have an interview in two days. How did your interview go and what questions did they ask apart from tell me about yourself
The examples you give of patient scenario really helped to understand how it all works! Please carry on to do example scenarios in the rest of the series thank you very much❤️❤️
So glad you enjoyed the patient scenario part! Its my favourite way of learning! Absolutly will be planning to make more of the clinical skills series videos :D xx
I'm not a nurse but Iike learning something new, thanks Zara it was very informative and look forward to more videos like these, I'm your new subscriber ❤️
I enjoying your video, you show great compassion for your role as a nurse & how it should be applied. I am a retired Senior Sister, unfortunately I suffer from numerous illnesses to which my Carers end up sending me to hospital (I hasten to add when this happens Paramedics find me unresponsive & end up in ICU. I have found in the last 3 years of admissions biting my teeth at the approach & lack of professionalism in my local hospital. Formal complaints have been made and vindicated. Junior staff are at a loss as to whom to ask for explanation and/or indeed physical onsite training in some situations. They are reliant on NCAs who have worked for many years attaining their NVQ3 but unable to progress due to personal reasons. I know of many a nurse who think appraisals of methodology of 'basic" roles should be carried out on ALL levels to which financial awards can be granted for proven progress in their work. I nursed for 36years, starting at 19 yrs old. I was medically retired at 55yrs old, NO Union helped me fight my corner. Can you find a way to have your videos be shown in hospital training days. This would make life so much easier for all and earn greater respect.
From a patient perspective it is good to see what you do - that is so cool and you work so hard as well - excellent to see!!! I hope you get a break and eat your fruit - I also like to eat by myself - nice to read a book or check your phone or diary notes.
YES MY HERO! I HAVEN'T GONE ON PLACEMENT AND CLINICAL SKILLS SESSIONS WILL SAVE ME FROM FALLING BEHIND. WE LOVE YOU KEEP UP THE WORK. Will be using this ;)
This is so helpful, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on handover giving. This will help as i wait to be posted as a new nurse on my first job.
Nice info! Handoff/handover report is soooo important, and helps keep the patient safe. I remember when I was a new nurse, an experienced nurse took me aside and shared how to give a concise and focused report… it was PRICELESS information! Keep up your videos….maybe we can collaborate on RU-vid channels one day!
You are so right Charlie, its all about patient safety after all! Thank you for sharing your experience and for your support for my channel!! I have just subbed to your channel, it looks amazing 😇and so informative!!
@@nursezara Thank you so much for YOUR support...In actuality, that what nurses should do...I don't mean specifically here on RU-vid (although that would be a very nice support network, etc.---CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!), but in the clinical setting...Can you imagine if new nurses were welcomed and nurtured, and the cycle would continue, and newbies supported the "oldies" (for lack of a better word). People would flock to be nurses, not just for helping patients, the $$$, but for the love of nursing... It would be like the MARINES (an American armed services branch, that are like once a Marine, always a Marine, they don't care about who what where when how, etc...You are a Marine...and they break their back to help each other). That's my idea of a Nursing Utopia!!! BTW, ,I saw your video about why you became a nurse (in regards to the nurse who took you aside when your sister was in the hospital). That was inspiring, and stories like that need to be shared!!! Keep in touch!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Zara i am going to start my first nursing job in Acute Assessment Unit next month. I am already feeling overwhelmed Thank you for your videos. Hope i will be ok 😰😰😰
Wow this has given me a lot of clarity, you definitely articulated handover in a way I can comprehend and organise it in my head 😂 Thankyou so much! I’m soooo nervous!! 🥴
Hi Nurse Zara, is it the same process when you give bedside handover? Or are there differences? Thank you. Or can you do a video for bedside and shift handover?
Hi im a first year and this video was great as I have a formative exam during placement tomorrow and this is a great refresher! I think just mentioning about safety checks and any relevant care plans must also be noted when giving handover too, but I'm sure your new vids mention this ☺
Hi there, I just discovered your channel today and went through several videos that you've uploaded and those were great. Keep doing the good work. Your videos are informative and visually stunning. 👍
Absolutely much appreciated and needed video. Thank you so much Nurse Zara, you have made my life easier with this structured information and mandatory advice ♥
@@nursezara Me too! I feel like I have been taken throughout a journey about handover and SBAR and the relevance of it, but also the application to practice. I hope you can create more lovely video's like these in the future
Dear ,,you know nurse is all about incidence, incidence n incidence 😊😊 we can say about exposure ( pressure ulcer one of the biggest thing nurse just take it in light way) and one thing more about pt belonging my god its the biggest one problem for nurses..🙂🙂 One thing i like the most that you talked about MRSA 😂😂 you know same thing happened to me ,i took whole handover when she was about to leave i asked her about infection precautions,,you can't imagine what she said 🥴🥴🥴 , its CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE.......😭😭😭😭😭😭 You Know over the time i felt like there will be nothing for me to live more life 😂😂😂😂 seriously,,,i like you shared👍👍
Aoa zara I'm nurse from Pakistan.. My head sister who is in charge of ward is very irritating personality.. I tried too much but at least I tired.. Please make video on hoe to deal with them?
This is so helpful I’m a first year adult nurse student going into placement at the end of may, so this is definitely helpful. Sounds like a lot but hopefully I get the hang of it haha x
Hey Claire, so happy you found this helpful :) ahh yes it is a lot, but trust me with practice it will become second nature ❤️ best of luck with your upcoming placements xx
Thank you for your suggestion Rachel! You can check out my SBAR clinical skills video via this link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5MLt1G3nDMo.html Hope this helps :)
Great Video, I think theres's always room for improvement with Nursing handovers. It's so important though and helps everyone, most of all the patients.
Zara I have a friend working in the UK for NHS trust. She has a concern handling the ward. Do you have any content. In which you can assist in this particular situation.
this is really helpful Zara!! thank you so much!!! however could you give advice on how to RECEIVE a handover as it can be quite overwhelming with all the information so it's really easy to forget. Thank you
It's funny, i charted the MAP (standardly denoted as an X in north America on the NEWS sheet for my NMC OSCE) and had a point deducted from me as the evaluator didn't know what the symbol man...i was blown away.
