Watch as Parents Magazine shows you how to give medicine to babies! If your baby is younger than one, you'll probably be giving him medicine through a syringe. If your baby's medicine isn't liquid, ask your pharmacist to compound it into a liquid. Add the recommended dose to a small amount of breast milk or formula. Add your baby's medicine to a syringe, not a bottle. When using a syringe, point it towards the inside of your baby's cheek, and slowly release the medication. If your baby won't open his mouth, put your finger on the side of his mouth and gently tug outwards. If your baby throws up his medication or develops allergy symptoms, call you pediatrician. Keep these baby care tips in mind when giving your baby medication!
