How to Gold Chrome Nails - Tutorial
Hey Guys! Many of you have asked for this so here it is! :) I also show you using both chrome pigments from Daily Charme. I definitely prefer the AGA03. So yes you will be using a silver pigment over the yellow base gel to create this look. Pretty cool huh?!

So glad I bought yellow polish because even using a gold chrome powder over black(as you have to use for silver powder)it doesn’t come out as true gold. Great knowledgeable tutorial 👍🏼👏👏👏

I was looking for this chrome gold finish for plastic miniatures and could not figure out why my pigment rubbing was so patchy. Thanks to your video, and a drop of rubbing alcohol, I got great results!. Now to get off the cheap pigments and go for quality

I have been searching for a true gold mirror finish and cannot find one. They mostly look like a gold pearl, which is pretty, but not a mirror finish. I love how you think out of the box! I'm trying this silver over yellow polish tomorrow. I think it's going to work great as I find silver powders to be more of a true mirror finish.

Nice! It seems like the silver is the all around most versatile. I love that you can create so many different, really unique mani's by just changing the base color. And you're absolutely right about spending your money on the good quality products. I have seen so many varying reviews on other brands, but these pigments from dailycharme get good remarks straight across the board. tysm for sharing your experience.

+Jennifer Cain Hi! I've tried other less expensive brands of chrome pigment as well. Some worked and some didn't. Even the ones that worked still didn't compare to the quality of the daily charme pigment. As much as we wanna try to save money we can end up spending more cause the less expensive stuff doesn't work as well. Been there and done that lol. I am super excited to share with everyone the long lasting top coat I've been using with all my services :)

Try without wiping the no wipe topcoat it really works for me:) with alcohol it turns out spotty.

Hi , I just wanted to say a big thank you . I had never seen anyone using isopropyl alcohol to wipe the non tacky top coat before . I bought some of the cheaper chrome holo powder and it would not burnish into the non tacky top coat at all , instead only working as a mermaid powder onto the tacky layer . After watching your video I thought I would give it a go and I was gob smacked , it did indeed burnish after using the alcohol although admittedly not with as good results as you got . So thank you so much for sharing this knowledge and your experience with us .

Great video! Thanks! Please forgive me if you already mentioned this somewhere but i can't seem to find answer to: When you apply gel (any gel, builder or color) that leaves a tacky layer do you have to wipe it good with alcohol before you apply the no wipe top coat? Also if i just use a regular gel top coat do you apply it over tacky nails or does it have to be wiped? Please reply, at this moment that is my main concern but couldn't find a clear answer to it yet. Thanks in advance! Love your videos!

+MELEDITH L. Hi! You don't have to remove the tacky layer when applying a no wipe top coat or a regular wipe gel top coat. Hope this helps!

I just buy the Gold and Chrome tips/nails that are the glue on's and the last me at least 2wks... before application i coat with a clear polish... you can buy them on Amazon.

The best sponge to use is the ulta triangle makeup sponges. It way easier to use than the applicators

The pigment that you use is definitely a better quality than the other one that they sell. It looks just like the born pretty pigment that I own. The "good stuff" should be arriving tomorrow. Am I right in saying that just like regular polish there are some cheap gel brands that are just as good as the expensive gels or am I wrong?

+Myishia simmons i can't really speak of the quality of "born pretty" pigment because I've haven't tried it. I have recieved other chrome pigments that weren't as reflective or just made the nail silver lol. As for gel polishes I feel you can make any brand last as long as your gel base and top coat are good quality. (There are a few exceptions to this) I look for certain features from a gel polish: brush quality, durability, high shine, and ease of removal.

So you definitely cleaned off the nail with alcohol AFTER the no whipe top coat is applied. Other tutorials don't and apply the powder directly on the top coat. Does that make a big difference in the way the crome looks?

+reenie rae Hi! Im not sure if it looks different or not....i found wiping with alcohol it helps the chrome stick. The look of the chrome has lots to do with the kind of chrome you get Hope that helps

I was watching the Tabytha Scott channel and she used chrome over Bambino Yellow by Vetro and she had major issues with patchiness! It may how be yellow tends to react with chrome! It was just an observation.

+LuxaPolish I did just one layer of the chrome, and then top coated twice. Here's the kicker...it can take anywhere from a half hour to an hour per hand to soak off Madam Glam gels so I'm really puzzled by it happening.

+Sam Hugh 30 mins to and hour to soak off!?! That's crazy! Do you file the top payers before you start soaking off? (I have a video on how i do gel removal) Also have you tired just doing one coat of top coat iver your chrome? Does it chip faster?

+LuxaPolish oh yes, I file before I soak. I'm to the point now that I file until most of the polish is off before soaking the rest, even though it takes me a very long time to file off by hand. I've been tempted to get an e-file to speed things up although I know there's a danger in doing that. I've been experimenting with different peel-off base coats. So far I've tried Bundle Monster's gel peel-off, but that really damaged my nails, and Madam Glam's that's designed for any type of polish, which gave me better results. Right now on my nails I'm trying UNT and it truly is completely peel-off; however, the gel came off completely after doing dishes on one finger, but the rest are holding well for four days now. When I did the chrome, I didn't use any peel-off bases because I'd heard that longevity can be a problem. Regarding your question of just top coating once after chrome, no, only two coats.

Ok. So why is the isopropyl necessary, if there is nothing to remove from a tackless gel? I am still learning. This is helpful to me.

Why post a video but dont share access to which top coat to buy? The top coat can make or break a chrome look.

The 02 of this brand is specifically designed to be sparklier than the full mirror chrome effect. That's why it is "grainier". I learnt that from a rep. Also, I've been taught not to use isopropyl at any time between tackless gel & pigment application. Perhaps that's why you're not getting even coverage with the 02? Isopropyl tends to repel. Just a thought. ;)

+AndriART lol a lint free wipe on a no wipe gel top coat will not do anything. Sometimes the pigment will not stick....for some reason the alcohol reactivates the chrome being able to stick to the no wipe top coat.

+2003bryant I am in no way affiliated with daily charme. But their pigment is high quality....roughly $17 for one jar. By the time you go through different brands because they don't work...you'll probably spend more than just giving in and buying a high quality one. But if you find a good one for less please let me know. I would love to test it :)

+martfran but remember different brands have different qualities so the effect might be slightly different

+martfran Not all. Some pigments have a higher density, which means full coverage, no opacity. But there are some! :) Mine is a little transparent on first layer, just like this one :)
