you probably dont care but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
im so glad i found this channel. as an art student, you’re not only teaching fundamentals of graffiti but also what makes art, as a whole, a masterpiece.
Eye opener for me. Been doing graff since 16 years approx. I always loved wildstyle, so that's what I learned. Skipped all the basics, which I'm paying for now. Just never could figure out how to make it flow properly. I never really thought about applying and thinking about visual cues and composition in this way for graff. I think we can agree on that it is heavily used on for instance landscape paintings since hundreds of years. Strange that I never came to think about it before. Thank you. /@down_bsc
Another great video bro, but can you do one on flow starting with a sketch so that we can see how to apply these skills when starting a piece? It's so misunderstood today how letter structure & flow create balance & how that balance is crucial to a great looking piece. Thanks in advance & please keep up the great work bro
Holy shit amazing video dude! If been duin graff for about 6-7 years now and its my first time hearing about momentum flow most of slovenian styles are more based on letter similarity..
In our country we named it elements of the letter, details of the letter and position about perspective, shadows and letters. Respect for your work, but i don't think they start to sketching with this kind of lines that you show. In my opinion this it happens automatic if you work with the same elements of every letters in the sketch. Thanks ! bug up!
I hear where you coming from but I watch more for inspiration than technicality, because it's not calligraphy it's graffiti but as an old dude I like the new generation and what they have done but I think they get a bit too technical with it but it's all good.
i like mad c 's work its wildstyle but one can read it easy. some writers are destorting the letters too much and then it looks like a cool colerfull nice artwork but it seems just like abstract art.
Coming back from the late 80s and Man you tell it so kindly and enthusiasm 🙏 to wear 👁 can understand and I have written with some legends just tagging and a few throw ups in the ditches of LBC. Thank you for the inspiration and bringing me back to the apex in life with my therapeutic kindness and rush from Graffiti style art. Once again mad props and respect 🙏 may many blessings pass your way big Danks and praise for teaching and spreading knowledge.
what, I use all these same methods too. Every graffiti artist does. Each person may use them differently (thats what style is) but we all still use them.
Oh because when I used to use my work to show as an example people wouldn't believe the info, so if I showed graffiti artists they love using this stuff then they can't deny it. Besides the people in the video use it much better than me hahaha. The hope is now people can look at any graffiti (including mine ) after watching this vid and spot the flows.
I think this is the first time in a frighteningly long while that I love what I am learning, I had no idea of any of the technique and fundamentals before and now I'm going through your vids like friggen wildfire! And a MAD thank you for those e-books too man, I really appreciate it You're awesome, keep being awesome and once again thank you
This is a bit overwhelming haha but that’s mostly because I’m just getting into doing graffiti. I’ll probably look at this some years down the line and understand more of what is being said, but from what I can tell this was a great tutorial regardless! There’s so much information that I’m being exposed to and haven’t learned/noticed before, really nice :D also, I’m not sure if you’ve done more videos on handstyles but if not can you do more? Maybe with demonstrations (if it isn’t too much trouble)? I feel like I do better that way. Keep up the good work!
I say this in the kindest way possible but your friend has no idea what they're talking about. At least now you have the info to teach and help your buddy 👍
Hey, your Videos are awesome!! the only thing that stands in the way of the implementation is the fact that I come from Germany. and my English is not the best, so I don't really understand individual things in the video even after watching it 5 times. But there is no comparable German-speaking painter / youtuber who explains everything down to the last detail like you. and you won't find anything on the internet either. Do you have a page or a document where that is explained in writing somehow?
I love your content man but this is way too hard to understand for me like left side of m r idk but this is really confusing for me who is about a month into graffiti
Although this stuff isn't new to me (not that I'm a great artist or anything) I always like watching stuff like this because every single artist explains these fundamental concepts differently, in my experience. For example, I knew "Line Similarity and Uniformity" but under a totally different name. And momentum, although I get that explanation is about the last way I would have thought to explain it. That way overcomplicated the subject in my mind. I think that it's important to not underestimate the significance that getting different perspectives and different explanations, on the same fundamentals, can have on your overall knowledge. Learning the same thing from a different perspective is still a great way to increase your knowledge on a subject.
First, let me say, there isn't any need to like your own comments. I can see the live views on the video to see people aren't watching this particular video enough for someone else to have liked your comment. Second, I'm super confused by you man. I thought we were cool, I always liked you in the community but I feel like out of no where you didnt like me or had issues with me. Come to find you leaving rude comments in the past that caught me off guard since you were in my DMs on insta looking for advice and info when you were newer and didn't know much about graffiti and also since you had always been chill before. Also, come to find you sneak dissing me in your videos. I guess I ld just like to know what I did if anything to upset you because legit iv always thought we were cool and I wouldn't mind patching up a friendship, I always rather make a friend. If you dont like me then fine, that's cool too but at least be straightforward about it ya know rather than beating around the bush.
You guys hug and make up yet? We’re somewhat limited when it comes to quality channels, so let’s strengthen the community and let the fruits flourish, eh?
I've been following your channel for a while now.. loving this video.. Form e personally I think the hardest thing to master has always been flow.. I don't think I've actually got it down yet 100% but still it is the hardest thing in graff.
My guy I just saw u doing correspondence for CBS, correct me if I'm wrong, but when I saw u I was like wtf?? Super happy for ur success. Keep the videos coming my guy!!
Lol yeah that was me. Thankyou for the kind words friend. I'll be honest I almost didn't do it, thought it was a scam e mail at first but I'm glad I did. We had a great 20 min discussion, they only used tiny clips but the chat was good
O...wow...well thanks man for this knowledge you just blew my mind. I was searching what is a flow actually in graffs,This is whole new different universe man Welp,I guess im lost then XD btw:drawing tips from people like you helps me to never give up on my drawing passion, keep up the great work yo
I am German and really very bad in English. Since I don't understand the tips well, I wanted to ask if someone would summarize them for me in German or English. Google Translate will help me with an English summary. Best regards
Hey bro, first of all, I want to thank you for your channel and videos. They have really helped me evolve as an artist. I'm still in my first couple of years when it comes to graffiti. I hope that with consistent practice and some guidance, I will continue to grow as a street artist. I would like to send you some pictures of my work and get your critique. I'm particularly interested in hearing your thoughts on my flow and current skill level, as well as areas where I can improve. My name is Juice, but sometimes I write it as "Joose." There's another name I've been using, which I'd rather not mention here, but I'm happy to discuss it in a private message. You'll see what I mean when I send you the pictures. That's the name I want to stick with when I do my pieces. As for my tag, I've been thinking of leaving out the "#" symbol and just writing the word. The reason I'm reaching out to you is because I have immense respect for you and what you're doing here. Your style and skills are sick, and I hope that one day I can reach a similar level or at least get close. I know I'm a good artist, I just need some solid advice and guidance to set me on the right path. Thank you!
It’s been 15 years since I’ve even picked up a sketch book, it’s refreshing, humbling and informative! Thanks for the videos dude you’re an amazing teacher and made me wanna start doing art again
Everytime I watch your videos my brain hurts, but that’s because I’m learning so much, in such a short period of time by your videos cuz literally I can’t stop watching
i think you're not using the best examples to get your point across... i mean, most of your viewers are begginer writters or unexperienced, so probably it's gonna be really hard for them to associate what you're saying to what the sketch/paint... good vid tho
I'm renowned around my county for being a dope writer but I just got schooled on my toyness lmfao time to step outta the galaxy with these lessons! Thanx for this video brotha lessons learned!
awesome classmate, I'm doing a real basic series on each letter with extras on each letter about flows etc etc, check them out if you have time! love ya work!
while sure practice is clearly needed its obviously not the only factor to skill. Most graffiti artists draw for decades and don't get any better over that time. You hardly ever see this in most other reforms, why? because they understand the basics that are required to gain skill, and that's where I come in. I teach those basics and show people the science behind graffiti and its through practicing this that people were able to get better.
@@Theartistblock Im 83' started painting in 1998, graffiti is Such a big deal for me its part of my life im Old school and i think that people that Start to write should do sketch after sketch Just how they feelin it. No offence to you Man, we are one coummnity, love it that you teach young people, but in the end we can shake hands and come to agreement that you need to feel it that you was born to do letters, if dont tutorials wont do shit for ya. PRIMO. Just how i writed above, Im Old school dont hate me and im still learning but my last words for KIDS DO LETTERS JUST HOW YOU FEEL IT EXPRESS YOU SELF!! BIG UP FOR GRAFFITI WRITERS AROUND THE WORLD 👊 SECONDO. For me if graffiti writer that paint for like couple of years and still need tutorials to know how to paint and mix letters or colors should give up and try something else.
@@ZakuKazama my dad wrote in ny back in 1972 and my mentor demer is an old school NY writer since 1974 and I've been around and hung with many legends and writers from the 1970's not to mention although I'm not old school but I've been around the block a few times as ive been doing this since 1999 so no offense to you but this is NOT something you're born with. Sure some people might be a little better naturally and some not so much but anyone can learn this. It took a lifetime for master level painters to learn advanced color theory, and the other elements of art so to suggest that only after a few years people should understand this stuff to an advanced level just isn't accurate and it really more so exposes a lack of understanding of these topics on your end. This is also backed your claims with people only need to paint what they feel, a statement that ignores the science of the artfrom and also just isn't true. Sure you can use emotions as fuel and all that but the basics still need to be correct at the end of the day, for example, if i do a grim piece and spell it GREAM because my emotions told me to and it's what i felt then i cant claim that it says grim. Any industry professional level artist will tell you painting with your emotions doesn't get you very far, you need information and knowledge and suggesting otherwise once again shows a lack of understanding.
man you are doing god-level favor to everyone, I just watch a couple of ur videos, and now I m able to draw 1M time better graffiti, I use to watch many famous graffiti utuber but they didn't teach the stuff which u have taught us tnks lots of love from *INDIA*
thanks for the love man i really appreciate that dude I really dude. thanks for the kind and sweet words, I'm glad I could be a part of your journey in graffiti thankyou.
Man, I have trouble making out letters in these pieces. With MadC's I had trouble at first, then I could see it. With the blue piece I couldn't see letters at all. Is there some way I can improve making out letters in graffiti?
Yo grim are you working on any oil paintings rn? If ya are could you make more videos about them, and just about oil painting in general. Thank you man love your stuff.
I was really looking foward to this. :-) The last part when you talk about the transition of the line flow in a Saber piece is a bit puzzling. Are you saying that in order to change the line flow you need to repeat at least once the angle of the line? To make two horizontal ones, two at angle, to get graduately to vertical??
Thats simply one way, yes for sure. You could also (for example) have a horizontal line , then draw another line uniform or similar to it near by then have that line swoop up or down to become vertical. This would be like the saber part of the video except we are only using the yellow circled line and the dark orange and nothing else. This is more direct and only uses two lines. Understand however you dont have to transition flow at all if your piece overall has enough flow. You dont even need that much flow either, look at straight letters for example, they dont too much worry about transitioning flow because they have more than enough flow to not need transition. Transitioning flow is a great way to enhance flow or get more flow when you dont have enough but its not a must.
Yup you sure can. This is a fundamental so it applies to all graffiti granted different forms of graffiti arent going to use it the same. Like line uniformity and similarity constantly. Momentum flow is used too but because you can't really go positioning the letters all crazy like in pieces so instead momentum flow is carried through from one line to the next. Cursive is a great example of this. One liner handstyles come from cursive and many of those lessons from cursive apply to one liners and both are dependent on momentum flow
