How to Grind Accurate Angles on a Toolbit, High Speed or Low Speed, Right On the Lathe

When I was a young man, I went to machine shop schooling...etc. All of the schooling and older machinists I worked with always told me to never grind on a machine that was not built to do grinding as the grit will eventually work its way into the ways of the machine and contribute to its ultimate wearing out and being in accurate to the point where you cannot trust it.

The trick is to hold it steady in one axis while moving another axis to remove material. Freehand will never achieve this
