To grow bitter gourd in a paint bucket, first prepare a 30-40 liter bucket with drainage holes at the bottom. Choose nutrient-rich soil that drains well for planting the bitter gourd.
Next, prepare bitter gourd seeds. Place a thin layer of soil at the bottom of the bucket, then scatter the seeds and cover them with another thin layer of soil. Ensure the bucket is placed in a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily, as bitter gourd plants require adequate sunlight to thrive.
Water regularly, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. Fertilize with organic compost or specialized vegetable fertilizer to promote healthy growth and fruiting.
Monitor and protect the bitter gourd plants from pests and diseases. Harvest the gourds when they turn light greenish-yellow and are ripe. Best of luck with growing bitter gourd in your paint bucket!
