Hello, I'm a new subscriber. Greetings from the southern Caribbean. Great video. Love the idea of putting cattleya in a coconut husk pot. I have always had difficulty getting cattleyas to bloom as I don't seem to have a proper watering routine. The roots sometimes get rotted, I have them potted in clay pots with pieces of coconut husk, rocks and charcoal.. My climate is very hot and humid here in the tropics. Can you tell me how often you water your cattleyas? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi.. I did plant it in drift wood, wrapped with coconut husk and some wooden charcoal.. I placed them in bright areas with morning sun.. water them regularly and give them " Miracle Gro" plant food .. within a year it bloom so beautifully..

Scales develop in non ventilated areas. Give a water shower to he plants and wipe with cotton .Then scales will get detached. Or use isopropyl alcohol rub which is more effective as the wax coting of scales get melted.
Sir your cats are gorgeous. Only two catteleya bloom till now the rest of the plant are yet to bloom. Why sir? And my vandas also didn't bloom since last year. I'm fertilizing regularly and there filtered sun. So please tell me what to do ?
Cattleyas flowering varies according to the season .They flower more during cooler months. Your priority must be to make the plant big, then they will bloom regularly.
As much as is needed to keep bulbs full but not rot roots. That could be daily to weekly to 2 weeks - depends on the media it’s in, the temps, the humidity, the size of the container, the air circulation/winds.
