How to grow Chaste Tree or Vitex 

It is just a slow growing tree. I made this video 5 years ago and this tree is 2 feet taller. Mine gets shaded so that may be why. I noticed ones at my parks at work that get full sun and they grow quite faster. Fertilizer in the spring will help.(16-6-8 or similar)

That is true for most trees and shrubs. In my climate(Las Vegas) in the spring I water mine 2 times a week with my drip system. My tree has been planted for 3 years, so its roots are deeper than a new tree. If my plant’s rootball is 6 inches deep it will need to be watered more frequently than a plant’s rootball that is 2 feet deep. As the tree matures it will require more water and deep, infrequent watering. You will need to adjust for your own climate and soil type. I don’t know what size your trees are or your climate. Most people make the mistake of watering everyday with a new shrub or tree. Air also needs to penetrate the soil for a healthy plant. Thank you for bringing up a good point.

I have 6 and two of them are in an area that is always moist and they are doing so well. Had those two years and they are over ten feet tall! They were tiny single stem things when planted.
