Miss Marie, lol girl I got you. Follow this tip and your garlic will grow much bigger. Garlic needs a month of ice cold conditions in the ground to germinate properly. I know in JA there is not such days to stimulate that proper germination process that garlic needs. So hear dis, put it in a paper bag at the bottom of the fridge in a dark corner and leave it there for a month. Then when you open the bag you will most of them would have germinated correctly. Break them into the individual pegs of garlic before you put them in the fridge. Try that and let us know how you get on. Blessings to you and Steve.

Hi Marie, I love watching you. Your garden is beautiful. You have to buy a heavy mulch over your garlic like grass clipping, and that will keep the garlic cool, and you have to plant them three inches deep. You need to use deeper pots,

Garlic may truly need the dormant period in a cold climate. But best of luck nothing beat a failure but a try. Cover heavily with straw/grass. If plant ina container put lots of soil. Dont over water umtil they start to come up out of the soil. Place them under the big trees for a cooler spot/shade.

I live in the tropics, in Barbados and I've had trouble growing garlic for a long time now. I would put the blubs in the fridge, then plant them and they don't form, Ive try every method however Recently I've heard of a type of garlic named "soft neck" I heard it better for warm climates, but unfortunately I don't get that variety here. If you do you can try that. You're garden looks beautiful by the way! And keep us updated on the garlic ❤❤❤❤❤

Hello farmer friend! Good morning to you. Just happened upon your channel and like what you’re doing. I am a Jamaican , living most of my life in Canada 🇨🇦 and is a backyard farmer. I plants Garlic successfully every year along with many other crops and my garden do exceptionally well. Where i live in Canada, our outdoor growing season is only about 158-163 days more or less, depending on the weather. Garlic has to be planted in early to mid October here and we harvest them in July. Garlic Cloves needs at least 4 degrees Celsius ( 40 degrees Fahrenheit) to go through the Vegetative reproductive stage, ie multiplying. If you live in a tropical climate, like Jamaica and want to successfully plants Garlic , first you have to put the garlic in the fridge for about two months which tricks the garlic that it has gone through the cold phase then plant the biggest cloves and then each cloves will becomes a bulb which then multiply by vegetative reproduction. If you plant a clove of garlic without it going through the cold phase , you will only get one clove in return. I plant the hard necked varieties which suited my region of Canada 🇨🇦 . Good luck and keep planting. Nuff love from Canada.

Good luck with the garlic. I thought about it, but garlic and onions are so stupidly cheap here in Trinidad that I couldn't be bothered. I prefer to grow my most used spring onion/scallions, and chadon beni/culantro. My nemesis is fine leaf thyme/French thyme. I have broadleaf thyme/Spanish thyme growing en masse but the other one eludes me. Tried from seeds, tried from cuttings...nada. You are so amusing! "I want to use it in my pot! As seasoning!" Garlic need to be planted about 2 inches deep with the pointed end up. I usually plant mine in September or October. Reap them about july 4

Ignore the naysayers Marie. I was told i was wasting my time boxing up the soil to grow and some of those who said no got food from the same gardwn they said would fail. As long as the soil is properly fead, you can grow food.
