Nice one. I agree on the iron statement, some people really assume that it's like a magic solution for red plants (and it's obviously not).
@AquascapingCube

Exactly. Iron is important, but not the key ;) Thanks for visiting :)

Thx Again. I tried red plants without co2 but no succes. I’m now growing one on the side. It grows very very slowly on substrate, relative strong light and no co2 and stays small very dark red, almost black. Lets wait and see what happens in 1 or 2 months.

Hi. Thanks for your comment! You can always try liquid carbon. It will not replace "real" CO2 system but sometimes it really helps.

Great! What is your usual fertilizer regime and suggest any brand?

Thanks for your tips! Would love to know what brand of ferts you are using in this tank.
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube Год назад
Thank you! I use very little ferts in this tank. I started only after 4 months (because of very rich substrate). And I was using Seachem Flourish, but still not that often.

@@AquascapingCube Thanks for replying! I’ll probably get the same ferts you’re using and give it a try.

How do you turn off your DIY CO2?
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube Год назад
I don't. It has to run 24/7 because of the pressure. But surface agitation is enough for the levels to not raise above dangerous levels (I have drop checker to measure). If CO2 levels are getting bit high - you can always turn ON simple air stone to run at night and the problem goes away.

If you have low nitrates, you dont need CO2, algae wont grow without nitrates...
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube Год назад
Yes, correct :) But CO2 will help a lot with plant growth and health (mostly density). Low nitrates doesn't mean zero nitrates and we want to be sure that it will be consumed by plants before algae will even show up. This is why I try to use CO2 when I can. Of course it all depends on personal preference and plants type.

@@AquascapingCube What about liquid CO2 for example: MICROBE-LIFT Bio CO2 does it works too?
