Another tip is to stop hearing music !! I also mean like music in videos or edits! It's Sunnah to put your fingers at your ears when you hear music. The Sahaba used to do that ✨
I’m 50. I’ve been questioning my past choices and experiences. I was brought up Christian (catholic), and have met other churches. Honestly, yesterday and today I have been so anxious because I feel like I need to belong to a community where the relationship with God is real and honest. There are so many christian denominations and churches… I feel lost. Something has called me to listen about Allah and the Quran. I feel peaceful right now. I’m almost sure that this is it. I’m tired, have moved away from mundane “friends” and I want to dedicate myself to serving my community, in a Godly manner. Pray that I am rightfully guided and meet my community soon. May you be blessed, always. Ps: your energy is so approachable. Thank you.
I also grew up Christian (non-denominational) and started a search for a way in which I could grow closer to God, and live a truly beautiful life. My Christian friends were "casual Christians" and the others were too judgemental. Also there were many questions I had within the Bible, which when I read the Quran and was introduced to Islam, alhamdullilah! I found the path that I had been searching for! Also, of course there are Muslims who wear the label as well, but overall Islam is such a beautiful religion and we have the ability to pray directly to Allah (God). May you be guided to the light of our Lord, Insha'Allah (God willing).

Great advice sister I am a revert, and have noticed some people trying to stray me from Allah and tell me things which are not in Quran. We should always listen to, and follow Allah. Not others and please them..only Allah
I personally think that at first we have to love and fear to our Allah then we could be close with Allah because love is more important thing in the religion.

Re: distancing yourself from people. When I got to this phase I let my friends know what my goals were and the supportive ones worked with me and we found different activities to do together. I feel these are the types of people one should keep in their life and we can only find them by asking for help. An automatic assumption that I needed to distance myself from these people would have been unfair to them, and possibly painful.
