Your Wii U Ultimate Retroarch guide is the greatest way to experience retro games. Today, I was playing The Simpsons arcade game via 3 player using the gamepad, a ps4 controller, and an Xbox one controller, with my 2 kids. 👌 I was telling them kids used to have to actually leave their house and pay a ton of quarters at arcades to play these games lol.
So convenient to have them this way. They'll never know the struggle for arcade perfection or the excitement of seeing a new unique Arcade cabinet. At least the games themselves survive and we can preserve them for future generations.
Great job still working everything in 2023. I bought the console second hand in new condition. I played old games i liked to play ,I went back to my childhood at the age of 34. Greetings from Poland!!!
Get a used wii u, it is an emulator beast, on the go get a Vita, hacked vita served me well while i was in service but a hacked Vita isn't very reliable but still worth it
This installed EXACTLY as you instructed, so thanks for that! One thing though, the artwork and meta data didn't populate automatically. Am I missing something?
Hey, i have a few questions. 1: do I have to do the custom folders structure, or can i just have them on the home menu? 2: when do i let go of the reset button when activating FEL mode? 3: is it possible to play FDS games on the nes mini? Thanks
Thank you for this video, it was very informative. I just bought (hopefully a legit and US version) a Nintendo mini and I'm excited for the opportunity to add additional games to it. My question to you is this: if something goes wrong during my "hack", can I do a factory reset on the mini and have it go back to the default settings (like when it comes out of the box)?
This worked perfectly! Thank you so much! So many of these videos skip or gloss over either important or complicated steps, but this was quick, concise, and easy! Thanks again!
The red light isn't flashing when i hit reset after I turn the power on. It stays a solid red and the screen says, waiting for your mini. Did anybody else have this problem or knows to get it to flash to load on hakchi?
I recently tried following the video to transfer files or games over, but wasn't able to. I followed instructions on the video and the hackchi that I downloaded. Any help w be greatly appreciated.
@blainelocklair Thx for this vid. Works great, but there's one issue I have, with the sound (of the added games). It's speed up. How do you normalise it?
Quick question. I've already modded my NES Mini, but the auto-fire rate in the "Controller Hacks" section is too slow. Is there a way to adjust it? Just curious.
Probably seems like a stretch, but would it be possible for you to do a tutorial on how to uninstall Hakchi from a Sega Genesis Mini, and install Project Lunar in its place???
It's easy to uninstall Hakchi. It automatically makes a backup of the unaltered kernel in system memory. Go into Hakchi, click the uninstall option and you'll be back to stock unit. Then use the Project LUNAR software if you want to install that. I do however agree with the other post that I think Hakchi is better and gets more updates, but you have the freedom to install what you want on it.
Thank you very clear instructional video. I'm still going to have to re-watch this a dozen times while I attempt to do this LOL anything new that would make this easier?
If I understand this correctly, you can only download 4 games at a time w the first method, so if you want to download multiple games, you have to use the 2nd method w the USB and cables ?
My stick is formatted ntfs, did all the steps as in the video. Once items exported to USB, I saw the folder structure... moved USB to the mini.. powered up, and the added games and folder did not show. Is NTFS correct for the stick? Or should it be FAT16 or something different? I use the OTG cable on other minis, so I know that it works yet.
So where do you get nes games ? Is there website ? Or do you make your own ? Also I notice it doesn’t register the wireless game controllers , they go in and out after installing
Hi! I purchased the cable in your link but when I plug it in (while holding reset with power button already pressed) the light does not flash but stays solid orange and computer says “waiting for device”. I’ve tried the whole process several times. Any advice?
Hi, I cant seem to find the ganes anywhere. Did everything as in the video, downloaded the program, transfered it to the NES but where are the ganes? There is no NES europe folder at all and in the NES USA folder there are like 50 games total. Have I missunderstood something and do I need to download all the ganes from another site? Or should all the ganes be within Hakchi itself? Bought all the otg and data transfer cable via amazon and the usb stick as well.
What happens if for whatever reason, you don't have internet access at the location you're trying to hack the NES Classic? I suppose there's no provision for downloading the required kernel and box art manually, is there? I know how enamored programs today are of doing everything automatically for the user. Well, except for the initial setup, which always seems to force the user to go through several steps manually.
Let's say I try to hack my NES Classic and something goes wrong, or I just don't like it. Is there a way to go back to its original state? Will selecting "reset to factory settings" erase everything and put it back to its original state? Is there another method? Or once I try to hack it, that's it..... I'm fully commited?
I have always wanted to do this but my question is how do you obtain the games to do this? I always find the how to videos for prepping but cannot find a video that shows how to get the games.
Do you have a way to access the retroarch menu from the NES MINI ? I have tried select + start and it does bring it up for a second the exits to the game selection menu directly.
I did mine originally in like 2017, I wonder if I can just do this to mine because I think I lost my original backups before I started, it was a different process back then
2 questions please. 1st, I have previously loaded games. Will this allow me to use the file system with the games I have already loaded? 2nd, where do I get the games? When I hacked this before I thought I was getting all games but marble madness is missing. I want to get that game but, do I search for it on hakchi? How do I find games in .nes format?
Get an nes rom dumper. You can rip the cartridges you own, then take those roms and put them in the classic edition. Definitely don't illegally download them from the internet...
I would LOVE play boktai on it, but it crashes after i enter the secon zone..i had two cartridges when i was a child, unfortunately missing... any help?
Why the latest version of Hakchi from the description can't install the driver while the old can? The only problem with the old version is cannot find the cover art for the game from Google.
Will this work on the mini game anniversary edition from TEMU I have the 620 classic games built in but they are garbage games from other countries, it looks like a nes mini but it's just called mini game anniversary edition. Please let me know.
I know how to download games but where can I get more games? I bought a SD card with installed games but it m doesn’t have all the games and I don’t seem to find where to get more games.
Well, I'd love to share some linkage, but RU-vid's terms don't allow it. However, there is an "Archive" on the "Internet" that might just be of help. :)
So question I have an NES classic that I hacked to play game Boy game Boy color Gameboy advance and game gear games. I realized I want to take off some games and add a few different ones. Is there a way anyone knows how to do this without having to re add all the games I want to keep on there? It's been awhile since I tinkered with it plus I don't have all the rooms anymore and don't want to redownload a ton of them
@@blainelocklair in a very early build of Hakchi. A lot of progress was made especially when it moves to CE (community edition). Now you don't have to mess with command lines to change certain things. Instead it brings up menus on which cores you want to run your games. Also doesn't hurt that it supports multiple mini consoles from many regions. I'm very proud of those who made this software.

2 yrs ago i used a previous version of hakchi i think 2.8 but i want to add more games now. i dont have the files on my computer anymore so how do i go about this. do i download the this version or do i go back and install the version i used?
They're never gonna disclose that information in order to keep from being sued..I just gave up on modding cause I have no knowledge of where to get the roms from
@@ipitithefool7829 yo, it’s been a year now, and I’ve finally been able to add the games to my NES Classic. There was a a website that I was able to copy the file to the game I wanted and transfer it to my NES Classic, so I’m fine now
Hey, am I doing something wrong? Everything was doing well, until I got to the Synchronize with mini part I plugged the usb into the pc nothing happened, everything is how it supposed to be, I don’t know what so did wrong
Hello, is there any way of reverting it? I mean, i bought one from second hand recently and it came with hackchi already installed. Is there anything I can do to remove hackchi and set it to its original state? o.o
No. If that's the case just hook your NES up to your computer through USB, power it on and the program should read it. Important to note though, since you didn't initially mod this system you will lose whatever games you didn't add on as it overwrites the kernel. So if there are games you like on your modded system that aren't the default, remember to add those games to your library. Edit: When you hook your NES up to your computer you won't lose those games until your ready to add games.
