How to Hand Rub a Sunburst Finish on a Mandolin or Guitar  

There are many ways of doing this, but this is a pretty good method, and I thought I would slowly walk you through the entire process. I didn’t think of videotaping it until I put the first coat of stain on the back, but I caught pretty much the rest of it.  I show you how things can go a little bit sideways, and how things can get corrected. All is not lost, but when staining wood, you must be very confident that it’s the colour you want!
