We have had a lot of questions about how to take care of you knitwear. In this RU-vid video, we discuss and show, how to wash and care for knitwear. We wash our hand knitted wool stockings for our folk costumes. They have a beautiful cable knit pattern and as we spent a lot of time knitting them, we want to give them the best knitwear care.
Most of us know that i is important to handwash delicate knitted items, using a mild detergent, a wool detergent or conditioner for wool. We soak the stockings in warm water for about an hour, occasionally squeezing them gently. It is also very important not to stretch or hang your wet knitwear to prevent deformation. We also have som good wool drying tips and cable knit socks care. Wool has a good memory, and if you use the correct method it will retain its shape if dried properly.
