These used to be called "French Cleats" , very secure way to hang mirrors or art.

It’s advisable that when using wall anchors and you mark the location of the anchor to drill a small 1/32” hole or use an awl to set the mark as those anchors has a tendency to wonder and may not be exactly on the mark when fully installed.

Can you hang a mirror that already has hooks in back but can’t connect the bracket but let the hooks just hook onto the wall mount?

Is using a drill absolutely necessary? I don't own one or know anyone who does. Sorry, but I'm a little old lady wanting to hang a mirror that's been sitting in my closet for years.

The video here shows a power drill being used to install the mounting screws and to install anchors into the wall, if needed; you can also use a screwdriver as shown in the video. Thank you!

I used one of these for a floating shelf but it does not sit flat off the wall. It sags a lot and is 1/4” off the wall. Why?

Hi , can I use this to hang the heavy item l guess like 50kgs and 45cm width ,2 metre long on concrete / brick wall ? If so Should I use 1 on top and second one on the bottom or middle coz its very long& heavy and cant take a risk to falls on anyone ☹️ Tia

Thanks... great vid. Hangman has worked great for me in the past. Do they work well in drywall? Can I just screw it onto the wall or must I use anchors?

Hi Jeff, since this video was made, we have developed a whole line of items that install with WallDog screws and no anchors, in addition to the anchor versions. These work great in drywall without anchors. You can find them on Amazon or our own site, and in many Ace stores. Model numbers are HM-6D, HML-12D, HM-18D, HM-30D, and HM-42D. These range in holding power from 75-400 lbs.

Yes. For a mirror of that weight, for added safety, we would recommend installing into at least one stud.

The system includes Walldog anchorless fasteners. Unlike conventional screw anchors, which require the secondary step of threading a sheet metal screw into an anchor, the Walldog is installed directly through the fixture into the drywall.

Lol! I think the video is just demonstrating the process, not a proper heavy item. The brackets themselves hold more than you can carry. Aluminum french cleats at a 30" length should easily sustain over 300lbs without warping. The failure point would probably be the anchors themselves on the drywall but even then I doubt you can hang anything heavy enough to test their limit. Especially if you use several to install it.
