Another way to catch the dust if a DIYer is in a pinch without a vacuum, is to cut a paper plate in half and hold the cut edge against the wall underneath where they're drilling the holes and all the dust will fall right onto the paper plate. -Paul Ps. I've put up 3 mirrors over the last 2 years or so and have followed this video every time and all 3 times have been perfect. It does throw me off though when you say 'divided by 3 err by 2' lol

Your an excellent teacher James, and my hope is one day you will have your own tv show, cause you totally deserve it dude. Thankyou for explaining all the different ones, they always confused me. Over here in America we tend to call them molly anchors, but in reality they are all the same thing. Mirrors are interesting BTW, they not only reflect, but when used on one entire wall space, they can make the room appear to be more open, which can be more cost effective, then actually having a room twice the size lol.

This is a great video but I’ve now realised it’s a lot of work so I’m just going go pay someone like him to hang my mirror lol

Couple little tips i use when doing this sort of DIY,knock the plug in but if it don't go flush with the wall is to screw the fixing half way into the plug and tap it with the hammer until flush,the other little tip is to use an envelope about a half inch or inch under the fixing,but don't use the sticky strip that comes with the envelope but use some masking or painters tape to hold the envelope in place,when using tape stick it to your trouser leg or arm a few times to take some of the stickiness away from the tape,that way you won't take any wall paper or paint off when removing the envelope. 😉 Hope you didn't mind me adding my two little tips on this video subject,much appreciation for the video from the UK,subscribed too. ✊🏾💪🏾👍🏾😉

Hey folks, I was listening to this guy explain the process of hanging the mirror, however, I noticed he said add the width of the wall (1500mm) PLUS the frame (900mm) starting at the 2:00 minute mark of his presentation. I think he meant 1500 MINUS 900 giving the 600mm he's refers to and then dividing that by 2 or 300mm on both sides.. Just wanted to point that out for new people like I am. Thanks

Should have watched this first before hanging a heavy mirror. The way I did it was take a bit of baton offer it up to the mirror and mark the centres of fixings and mirror.Then transfer that to the wall and level it. Worked perfectly and she was happy,who knows might get a reward later. But next time I'll do it this way and blind her with maths. That will knock her bandy...

Hi I appreciate this video. It really helped me to hang my first mirror. However, because of my bad drilling, the mirror is ever-so-slightly skewed. I was wondering if you had any methods for improving the level without having to re-drill holes? There are two small hinges on the rear of the mirror. Thanks again

Finally someone who has a some sort of clue on how to hang a pic.... Put spaghetti in freezer while you're figuring out picture measurements. Put a towel on mantel so you don't damage it.😁

I admire people that have the patience to measure and use the correct tools....but I would have to have bare walls if it took this long to hang anything.🙃
