I really like these videos! It's interesting to compare original English traditions and what they have become in Australia. Many people, especially as children, have afternoon tea every day. Parents will give their kids a snack after school or workmen will have a break then, usually around 3.30-4.00. What you are describing is what we call a "high tea" and people have them for special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays.

Ah I see the difference, I love that you still have it every day though. They definitely don't do that here / refer to it as that daily here.

Great video on a traditional afternoon tea! I am a native Californian but have always been fascinated by British culture! I have heard the term "high tea" used before...is this term the same as "afternoon tea"? or is it something different? Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it! High tea' is not the same as the afternoon tea. High tea consists of a more substantial meal served at the dinner table and eaten later in the day.
