Maybe there is some thing He is trying to call your attention to just to Let you know not to be comfortable in that thing! Just saying please correct this behavior! Or maybe do it differently! Since I don't know you it is hard to really say! I just am saying , I don't Think it's something real bad maybe He just doesn't want you to settle in and be too comfortable! If you are into some thing your not sure you Should be involved in Then ask Him to take it From you so you can be free to Love and be Happy! 🤗
It is over 45 years since medical school and my memory has faded, but the spleen is mainly concerned with immunity via the white blood cells but also has a role in the white and red corpuscles and platelets levels. It's also in the upper left quadrant of the abdomen behind the stomach and pancreas. Historically, it has often been associated with emotion eg to vent your spleen and so on but that is certainly not its role. The video was so very helpful as always.
I have a knot in my life that Mary Our Blessed Mother is helping me sort thru... I am not complaining yet I would like her continued help and peace. Can you please pray for me, that her lovely perfect hands untangle this ribbon in my life. I'd really appreciate it. God bless. 🙏😊❤️
Gerry is a living symbol of everything you share with us, dear Father. I love how he’s sprouting up new bits on the left, while he’s all full and resplendent on the right. Thank you for all you teach us.
To add to the spleen explanations, it also has a reserve of blood that can be released to improve circulation in dire circumstances. So it could be the analogy is a person in great distress or pain or injury "vents their spleen" as a final effort to save the person.
I’m trying to understand my relationship with the Sacred Heart ❤️. I’m very drawn to the image and I guess it’s the human and divine love of Jesus for me and all humanity.
Hi Father! I had my spleen removed almost 40 years ago, on January 29th of 1983, when I was 25 years old due to it being lacerated in a car accident. I almost bled out but I survived by God's grace! So as I understand it the spleen filters the blood. So my blood is unfiltered!!!! The spleen is located on our left side under our lower ribs. I suffered 9 broken ribs and my spleen was injured. I hope that satisfies your curiosity! Thank you for your ministry. God bless you!
That as usual really gave such a boost to be each day better and be loved by such a great God l want to work at that more.great Father excellent all the time HAPPY ADVENT. Fr Groeshel is smiling on everyone of you genuine catholic Priests
As regards the functions and cultural significance of the spleen, I looked it up in Wikipedia. Functions: it works as a ‚recycling centre‘ for red blood cells, in particular processing the haemoglobin and iron contained in ‚old‘ blood cells. It also produces antibodies, removes bacteria caught by these, and helps tissue healing after a wound. Term: the Greek word σπλην is apparently a colloquial term for the seat of emotions, which we call the heart. Symbolic meaning: for the Greeks and Romans it was supposed to contain black bile, which caused melancholia (depression). But for the Jews it was the seat of laughter… Both the ancient and modern understandings throw interesting lights on the Gospel passages you mentioned in your video.
Thank you, Father. This was a beautiful meditation. Much to chew on in my prayer times in the coming week. And as an aside: I’ve been a fan of Sting for decades. Love that song. ❤️
If anyone feels mangled, rejected and lost (without a shepherd) ((I certainly have)), turn to Jesus. He is always always just waiting so patiently for us to turn (metanoia) to Him. He wants to sooth our hearts with His compassion (that word that Fr. Columba said) and a listening heart. People (even those we love) may reject us because of our neediness but Jesus is drawn even more to us. He gives peace in the storm. I'm praying for all those who feel dejected. Lord give me eyes to see those who are in need, ears to hear those who need a word of encouragement.
Thank You Father...my mum was frm a farming family, & was born & raised just outside Kilkenny.,in a place called GoldenField,.& as kids we wud go there every summer,.& there was a big wheat field up on the hill ,& we wud play in that field & look over at the beautiful land..great memories...I loved it so much. .RIP mum,❤ God Bless to all.x
Thank you for your inspiring words, the look of God’s love in your eyes, and your “superpower” to make me laugh in serious conversations! God Bless You🕊 Thank you🦋
Father thank you for this! I also have a problem with the "needy" aspect. It is my biggest challenge. As always you give me something to think about and I find so much joy in that! God bless you and all your tireless work! Have a wonderful Christmas!
I’ve always believed that God doesn’t feel hurt over our failings. If He did, we would have control over Him, and that can’t be. Of course that doesn’t mean that God is apathetic, or numb. He’s just much greater than our limited human emotions and understanding can fathom. / On the other hand, I do believe that Jesus hurt, a lot. God became human not only to to save our souls, and speak the truth, but as a way for Him to demonstrate He truly gets us. He gets our suffering because His human manifestation - Jesus - suffered. No one can truthfully claim that God doesn’t know what suffering is like, because He (as Jesus) went through it all - physical torture, betrayal, loneliness, fear, misunderstanding…everything. God’s choosing to come to Earth as a common man (with no special powers, material wealth or distinction) is an exaltation of humanity in its purest form. / I pray that in this Christmas, and 2023, I live my faith with greater zeal, as Fr. Columba well suggests. Thank you Fr. Columba. Merry Christmas. JCF
Oh trust me, a priest can handle your past. No matter what ! I'll pray that you go to a good priest and make a great confession. God is good. He died so that we might be forgiven. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18.
My challenge is to see people in the light of God's love for them in a time when everything is so politicised - abortion, sexual perversion, etc, and the tendency is to be angry and judgmental about where the culture is straying. But God forgiving me is the example of how I should view others.
Father, thank you for another beautiful meditation. And I googled spleen - here’s what the spleen does: The spleen has a few important functions: It fights any invading germs in the blood (the spleen contains infection-fighting white blood cells). It controls the level of blood cells. The spleen controls the level of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets (small cells that form blood clots) .
So, that's what a spleen sounds like... 🤔 This Advent, I keep coming back to the immense love Jesus has for us. On the back of the Crucifix of my Rosary, there's a depiction of the Sacred Heart and it reads: "Behold this heart which has so loved men". I can't read it without getting tears. God bless and Merry Christmas.
Thank you for teaching compassion. So many Christians not following Christ today. Too much emphasis on material living, power and prosperity. Churches around us closing.
Today I did something so insensitive and I was surprised at my behavior. Very humbled The trick was trying not to Be so full of self love with my reaction to become so easily discouraged and self loathing. How do we kind and patient to our heavy nature?? What do you think Jesus would say to us when we realize how we are so broken and weak? Then I came home tired and feeling lost. Prayed the rosary asked our mom for help and found your video Thank you
🎶🎄💕 Father, that was priceless, need to listen again. Why do we resist others' suffering.....I have found every once in awhile that I have a knee jerk reaction, repulsion towards another's ugliness, etc......I used to criticize myself for feeling that until I read that Mother Teresa revolted emotionally at some point with a very sick person maybe with leprosy. Esther P.S. Particularly like the videos when you do the sound effects.😊
Isn't the liver the seat of the emotions? The visceral sensation you get at deeply emotional times I alway thought originated in the liver. Thanks for the information, I had no idea my spleen had such an interesting life! God love and bless you. 🎄🌹
Hi father, the spleen cleans blood as far as I know without a search...wait.brb I looked it up- the spleen as controls the amt of red & wht blood cells and fights bacteria in blood. Also, yes father amazilngly somehow has reproduced the actual communicative utterance of a spleen. )))
@@ctmcatholic Why do some Catholic being nice with Jews? They are the one who planning to killed Lord Jesus, and some of them are being racist and called Lord Jesus as crazy jewish guy.I am so confused and sad 🥲
It must be great, you get somewhere to sleep, free meals a salary/money and time to think about all thats wonderful. All for free paid for from the pockets of the poor.
simple lives of poverty paid for by the lay faithful, rich and poor alike. He serves people and God by thinking of these wonderful things but also by hardships. He is there for people to confess there heaviest sins to. People look to priests for answers in the ir most despairing times. They give up a life with their own families. They can't ever make their own fortune. They serve the poor that society has cast away and they do their best to help them with the little they have trusting in God's providence. I've met many nasty priests, nuns and religious, but the good ones I met changed something in me. And, I like to think that no evil a poor hypocritical religious has done can take away from the humble good that the priests I look up to have done. My faith falters a lot, unfortunately, but I met people with so much love that I tell myself, it must be true, I want to believe in the God she believes in. These simple people who live radically selfless lives must be the winning influence in my soul. So, don't worry my friend, it's an extremely unjust world out there, but there are good people who keep up the fight, don't you wanna help instead? in whatever little way you can
