The main cause of frizzy hair is not having straight hair. The only way to defrizz wavy or curly hair is to learn to style it in its natural pattern or straighten it with heat.
I can’t agree more with this. People with straight hair will never understand. And it’s not product overload, this or that, hair is not straight. Period.
but even when i straighten my hair (i don’t even have curly hair) my hair is still frizzy and doesent go straight and flicks up at the bottom, can anyone recommend anything?
you seem to have a lot of valuable hair knowledge yet only really cover straight and maybe wavy hair types. would love for you to talk more about curly hair!
she probably wouldn’t be able to give the best advice tho bc she has straight hair. i hope this doesn’t come off as hate, it’s just that she’s never had or experienced curly hair
I agreed but I think she only covers what she wants to try on her hair type and she definitely doesn’t have a curly hair and when she has some waves is because she style them with a headless curly hair tool or she use a heat. Seem so many of her videos so that’s what I have learned from it. I do like her hair products recommendations as she does tons of research about it
Agreed! I also agree that she can’t really give advice but think she should list textures other than straight as reasons for frizz for example as she completely omits it
For curly girls the leave in product is most important. If you live in a dry climate use a product with Glycerin. Is you live in a humid region STAY AWAY FROM A PRODUCT WITH GLYCERIN. It’s a humectant that you don’t want on your curls when humid out !!!!!!!
As a naturally curly lady, whether I straighten my hair, or curl it, my hair gets frizzy when the weather is humid or there is high humidity outdoors. As long as the humidity levels are very low, my hair behaves good, and remains smooth.
For me personally the Eva NYC Mane Magic has worked absolute wonders and I’ve tried more expensive products from Sephora that don’t work as well. Some people even say call it a dupe for the “It’s a 10” leave in treatment, though I’ve never tried that particular product so I cannot confirm but Eva NYC absolutely works better for me than a lot of the more expensive products. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a more affordable option! I really like the Split End Mender cream because I have thicker hair but I also use the Primer Spray which is for thin hair, when I put heat on my hair and that works great too! Their whole line is pretty amazing!💖
Ohhhh……shoot! These are the kind of videos that are saving me! I stress about my hair bc it gets frizzier throughout the day, so I put all that stuff in….and then my hair just looks blah! No wonder! Thank you!
My curly hair is very high porosity and thin. Due to curly hair having naturally a higher porosity to begin with my thin curly hair takes on some of the most thickest creams like it’s a lotion. Just be aware of what your hair can handle and experiment. Your hair may be more different than you think. I do still agree with the op general recommendations!
I am finding it easy to fix new hairstyles with the help of Littellextra Neatfix Hair Finishing Stick, and it is extremely useful for my flyaway hairs and frizzy hairs. Its texture is transparent and convenient to use. I have experimented with so many hairstyles with its help. I keep it in my purse and use it a lot while traveling as it is super convenient.
That’s my problem I do cocktails sometimes for my curly hair. I have a bunch of different products that I feel embarrassed sometimes trying to find my matching ones. 😢
I have a question: should we use a leave-in + hair oil or just one leave-in? Another youtuber said using too many products will make your hair heavy and not nice so now I'm wondering if we should use a hair oil in combination with a leave-in conditioner 🤔
you can use both. leave ins are great moisturizer and hair oil can be applied to the ends of your hair. it wont overwhelm it just make sure your aware of how much your using
Hair oil is most important before you shower to protect your hair from being damaged in the washing process. Leave ins are great for after you wash. For me personally noticed if I put oil or any of those more oily type of “frizz tamer” products in my hair after washing it would always just makes the frizz worse because I have low porosity hair. It took me forever to figure out what I was doing wrong, because the products that were supposed to help with my frizz always ended up doing the opposite. Doing my oiling before hair-washing and using a creamier style leave in treatment like the Eva NYC Mane Magic Split End Mender after my shower has been an absolutely game-changer! It’s super affordable too, I just get it from target! My hair has never looked so good! Only wish I would have figured it out sooner in life because I was always so embarrassed about being the frizz-ball girl growing up. So now I pass along the knowledge hoping to help someone else avoid all the frustration I went through💯💖
the thing is, I can’t tell if my hair is just straight + frizzy, or if it’s meant to have a wave pattern. Some pieces of my hair (especially in my neck) will be wavy/ curly, whereas the top part of my hair will appear straight but always so frizzy/ dry looking even though I always use masks and conditioners.
I just started using the Everpure brand that she is always recommending but the frizzy hair version - not the bonding one. The bonding one made my hair so frizzy and dry! But this one for frizzy hair has actually made a difference and my hair (little over shoulder length) is actually more voluminous and wavy! Like it’s really wavy and not flat at the roots or stringy like it normally is. Not sure if that can help you but it’s worth a shot. I also use Cer-100 every few washes. Not sure if it’s a holy grail yet but I am enjoying it for now. If I can afford something more fancy sometime I might try it just to see if there is a difference. I still lack shine in my hair but I’m not sure what to do about that. For reference, I have verrry fine and “slippy” hair that is easily weighed down (thick and lots of it, but my strands are insanely fine) and I have lot of baby hairs on the edges that fluff out. I can’t do anything about that part.
I hate my wavy curly hair, yes it looks good (for a while) but it's not worth it. Idw do all those styling stuff like m not gon spend tons of money just to buy tons of product to apply. I'm just waiting for my hair to grow more (I have sm hairloss that my scalp is visible, cuz of it I cannot do any hairstyle other than ponytail when I go out, no matter where I make partition my scalp is visible) then I'll straighten it ALWAYS
I have long to my hip it's dyed and some bleached plus my hair is thicker... My hair is definitely healthy bc I take care of it... I use a leave in conditioner bumble & bumble is the best plus their light curl defining cream
Well I used to have fizzy hair and I just used shampoo and now I use oil and conditioner and shampoo and I massage my scalp and now it’s not so frizzy hair and I hope it helps to the ppl who have frizzy hait

Seriously how can someone with super soft perfect hair convince me of how to stop hair lol 😂 😂😂😂so unrelated like come on can you please bring someone once with real bad hair frizz and show others how it’s really done Selling people dreams is so yesterday I don’t watch commercials it’s never related She does have beautiful hair God bless no envy dear 🥰🥰🥰i have gorgeous red thick curly hair 👩🦱 and my daughter too. Please media be realistic
I’m someone who dealt with frizzy hair most of my life and the one product that has worked wonders for me is Eva NYC Mane Magic Split End Mender. Tried so many different products but this one works amazing for me. I just put it on my damp hair after getting out of the shower and whether I let it air dry or use heat and styling tools it always works great! Helps with split ends obviously, but it’s also a fantastic leave in conditioner. Leaves my hair feeling so soft & silky, I love it! It’s pretty affordable too, I just get mine from Target!💯💖
Why on earth do you think she would LET her hair become frizzy just to instruct people how to take care of their hair? You’re complaining about a literal non-issue.
I have fine/medium hair (but looks kind of thick) and also live in a place that is quite windy often. I don't use a lot of hair products but my hair is frizzy and tangled all the time. Also, sometimes my hair is frizzy even when it is wet.
I have low-po curly hair and I’ve tried so many products. Abbey, do you have any recs for low-po Caucasian wavy/curly hair? Everything so far is too heavy, and the Curly girl method is the worssssttt for low-porosity hair. They recommend piling on so many products, it’s insane! I always use K18, then tried anti-frizz living proof leave in conditioner (still frizzy), then next wash tried Living Proof Curl Enhancer (frizz), then instead next time tried “Miss Jessie’s Soft Curls” (frizz), idk what to try next. I’ve tried oils but those are a huge no-no for my hair type, they never ever absorb. Should I try a heat cap to try to maximize absorption? I usually never use heat….ever. Thank you!
P.S. I also tried Living Proof Triple Bond Complex alone or on top of K-18, and still frizz. I use Olaplex #3 occasionally but less and less. I used Kristin Ness reconstructive moisture mask as well but that didn’t absorb at all, even after hours!
You need a product with hold rather than moisture, so a mousse or gel rather than lots of creams. The way you apply your products really matter, I section & brush style my curls wet (there's lots of youtube videos on this. Preferably dry with a diffuser. The last thing is protecting it at night, I use a buff, others use a silk bonnet or scrunchie etc.
Yes!! I have super fine Northern European hair, and every time I get back from a hair service appointment my hair is gross, frizzy and dirty the next day because they always, always put too much crap in my hair before blow drying. At home I use one pump of Lanza hair oil and a few sprays of Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler (when I don’t use K18) and that is enough, my hair stays nice and frizz free until I wash it again.
People be saying "learn how to style ur curls etc" i am not allowed to wear my hair open at my job.It looks messy all the time and ive tried to style my curls but they look more defined when i just let them airdry without any extra product.
question, anyone who knows can answer. i have wavy (2b-2c) hair, i use a leave in conditioner, anti-lice spray (it has like mint and rosemary), frizz cream, a curl gel cream like thing, and a mousse. is that to much? i have really thick hair
thank you…! I just realized tht I got frizzy fly aways and its probably because I spray and right after I oil my mids and ends and directly after that, i use a scalp water and apply leave on condiioner. I think I will try it differently
Is EVA NYC primer too heavy for fine hair? Is the fine hair version just as good as original? Any other drugstore recs for a leave in/heat protectant? I do like Ion repair spray but that isn’t heat protectant.
I'm so confused what my hair type is. My hair's always frizzy. So obviously I tried a wavy/curly routine. It formed into 2a/2b waves, but after a day or so it went right back to straight. I tried a lot of different products so it vould hold up better, but nothing worked. The only thing I noticed is that my hair wasn't as frizzy when I did a wavy routine. I did notice that while I was trying different wavy routines and products my hair started to get damaged and started thinning. So I went back to straight routines and my hair is frizzy again. And I tried every tip people gave to stop frizz, but nothing works. I just don't get it. I don't know what type my hair is. If you have any suggestions please tell me!
My hair is frizz no matter what I do. I do have wavy hair, so maybe the problem is me not caring for my curls enough. But is it still important even if my hair isn’t that curly?
@@mynamestartswithv That's kind of a hard question to answer. There are many techniques you can use to style wavy/curly hair. You just have to research them and try them out. The subreddit r/curlyhair is a good place to start.
So I just got a shine serum for Tresemme and I have a heat protectant from tresemme as well. Those are the only leave in products I have, and they kind of do opposite things. How should I use them for best results? I mean, can I apply them at the same time or should i do it at different times and which one first etc...?? help me out girls I'm lost
That’s why I don’t brush my hair like, at all (only after showering), unless I’m doing some hairstyle that requires my hair to be untangled (ex braids) then I’ll comb it of course. I have long wavy to curly hair and that’s what has helped me best with frizz
my hair has been damaged but i dont use too much product since i only use shampoo and often dont wash them. so i'm still trying to find help with my frizzy hair.
My frizz only forms curls when I'm at the ocean. I slept on silk, tried various curl, wave and anti-frizz products, moisture products, scrunching, styling, nothing helps. Maybe I'll get salt water spray but at this point I don't wanna try anymore 😂
Same with my sisters, but they used to have curls as kids and lost them when they got into puberty. Only on of them gets ocean curls now. And me, but my hair started getting frizzy when I got into puberty 😂 my mom used to have curls until she had me, lol.
I’m all about not using heat to protect hair, but mine gets so frizzy if I don’t use some form of it. I use unite 7 second leave in and it has heat protection but I still use some light oil on ends for frizz after styling. Really not sure about all the bond repair stuff..I always wonder if it is just bc people are also using less heat/bleach.
Do you talk about silk pillow cases? Not satin. Real silk. Mulberry silk is cheep. I bought a 2 pack of pillow cases for $25 on Amazon. Wash on cold and hang dry. Super easy. :)
My hair literally turns into a cloud when its dried. My reason probably might be Silicones and Sulfates and i never used a leave-in conditioner so i better go finish those hair product bottles😩
so i have 2c waves and i’ve tried products and they don’t keep the frizz away and the curls just look bad, i just use leave in every night with wetting my hair then i use hair oil in the morning but school makes my hair horrible so idk what to do
This applies only to straight, thin hair! Abby your content is amazing but would be awesome if you also think about your subscribers with thick, curly hair. If we just use leave in conditioner and no other products the frizz gets worse
I don't think she can, realistically. She doesn't have curly hair and can't really speak to that. There's no way she'd be able to speak to the effectiveness of curly hair products when she herself has straight hair. 🤷♀️ I'd follow RU-vidrs who DO have curly or textured hair if you are looking for advice on how to style/products that work with curly hair.
@@nadinedecastro8778 no. Trichology is the science regarding diseases and conditions of the scalp (mostly hair loss). She has said that herself and has mentioned she doesn't have curly hair and can't speak to that. Scalp conditions and diseases of scalp don't really correlate with recommending products for curly/textured folks. There's tons of other channels with women who have curly hair and make videos specifically on what you are talking about--you should check them out.
My hair is so annoying because every time I take a shower, my hair is frizzy for like the next two days, an then after that it gets really greasy, my hair just never looks good😭
I don't use chemical products still I have frizzy hair that too on wavy hair. Please somebody help me with this as I am just a teenager 😭 and want to have healthy hair
