we need privacy space like android. this is just disappearing from the home screen not hiding. is there any way to hide app library itself?

Yeah, hide an app then have the screen rearrange where the others after the app are located. My last 4 phones have been iPhones and I am an Apple guy but really Android has Apple beat when it comes to home screens especially after you get it set as wanted and can lock it so an icon stays put.

This isn't hiding. One can easily swipe down and search for the app

The retrieval from the app library is not so easy when an app does show up when searching the app library, but not on screen. Any pointers?

OK, now explain how ENTIRE PAGES of applications get hidden accidentally. My mom asked what happened to an application she uses all the time. I discovered through a combination of an hour-long support chat and Web searches that there's a hidden method of hiding entire screenfuls of applications. This raises two questions: Who thought this brain-dead design made sense? And then how does a page of apps get disabled ACCIDENTALLY? There's no way my mom long-pressed an empty space, then somehow accidentally pressed the tiny bar of dots at the bottom of the screen, and then accidentally tapped a checkbox to switch off an entire page of applications. And from the other angle: How would any user guess at this absurdly obscure sequence of actions if he WANTED to hide an entire screen of applications? Beyond that, why would you even imagine that this was an available function? You can already remove app icons from the screens, so WTF is the purpose of this secret page-disabling feature? Mind-bogglingly dumb, defective in both design and function.
