Thanks so much. I can't find this palette anymore. I'm such a tomboy... I don't know where to look in all seriousness. What can be a substitute? A powder, an eyeshadow...??? Not sure on what to buy with this not being available anymore. Any help on this would be appreciated.
@@Msthoro1 Erin you should get the MeCosmetics scalp foundation. That is what I use on all my fine or thin hair styling clients. Here is the link: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1982619&u=2227553&m=123081&urllink=&afftrack= It's an awesome product!
I have had female pattern baldness for over 15 years from being on a medicine called Risperdal for sleep which I didn't know caused hair loss until it was too late. I won't get any of the hair back, but my dermatologist told me to use men's Rogaine. Covid caused me to lose soooo much and thank God for Alyssa Milano making a covid hair loss video I realized it was thing. That grew back..but pulling my hair back esp when my brown roots turn gray..the scalp shows more. Thank you for being brave and real... showing the vulnerable side ... I appreciate it. Getting older..post menopause caused I think even more hair loss..esp at the crown and sides. I used to used "Beauty" by Joan Rivers but that doesn't help anymore. The more gray that grows makes the hair more brittle and that doesn't hold to the hair anymore. I'll try what you posted in this video. You ROCK! God bless 😊🙏🧡🌹
Really helps me feel a little better that I’m not the only one who suffers with this issue. Your issues match mine. Finally a video that I can really relate to.
Hi Gabby my name is Mikki and if you were here right now I would give you the biggest hug. I am in tears. I got divorced four years ago from a husband who was miserably cheating on me and tomorrow I have my first date in 4 years and I have been under some stress I which resulted in a hair loss right in the front in the middle of my forehead and I tried your technique and I can't believe it - it works beautifully. I was looking up close straight in the mirror and I couldn't even tell that the alopecia was there thank you so so much you're a godsend and I can't wait - I'm so looking forward to going on my date now thank you Gabby. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart
Oh my gosh! You saved me!!!! In my case it was a haircut gone seriously wrong. I was going for that buzzed looked but now I look like a military drill sergeant. I've been trying to cover my scalp, since I have very fine hair and this is an amazing idea. I watched this video almost all the way through, paused it, went to go try it with my black eye shadow and it WORKED!!! So thank you so very much. It's not only valuable info for women loss hair loss. It helps us ALL! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I am only in my 20s but have had gradual hair loss the last few years thanks to anxiety and depression. Definitely trying this tomorrow.
Let me know how it works for you! It’s very easy and completely hides any patchy spots. I hope you’re doing okay with the mental health stuff now. I a big part of the reason I lost hair too. Hang in there.
Hello I'd just like to say, if you suffer from anxiety and depression, make sure you are eating a full range of vitamin B foods earlier in the day high in Marmite, Vitamin C in various fruits and veg., Omega 3's in oily fish and ex virgin Olive Oil, and Vitamin D found in mushrooms etc. a deficiency can cause anxiety and oxidative stress. Biotin is a B vitamin particularly useful for hair growth. Also for calm Magnesium is absolutely key (found in Walnuts) but VERY deficient in the western diet, try to avoid sugar and sweeteners as they cause inflammation, a precursor to disease. Camomile tea before bed helps with the nervous system and sleep. If you are suffering from alopecia check with your doctor that it isn't a hormone inbalance or autoimmune condition. Also with young women and menstruation, heavy periods, check with doctor that it's not very low serum ferritin stores as the body utilises hemaglobin for major organs before hair, skin and nails and very low B12 can cause hair loss, fatigue, anxiety and depression. Fixing a nutritional deficiency can be the answer to a high percentage of problems and don't forget to keep well hydrated with filtered water. Hope this helps, because there is always an underlying cause x
Thank you so much for this video! My hair has been thinning and I've been so self-conscious about my bald spots. I am going to try the eyeshadow trick tomorrow.
I don’t have alopecia but I do have trichotillomania, which is pulling of the hair from eyebrows, scalp, or even eyelashes. My scalp is definitely the worst place for me. I’m going to try this and see if it helps at all! The only downside is the hair that has grown back sticks up a lot so getting it tamed is a whole task on its own
Hi I know exactly how you feel if you want to take your hair like me I find that either wetting it and gripping it down to your head if long enough then try to blow dry it and style it on a different way. Is what I found works best personally
Thank you so much for this. I have trichotillomania so I have lost all of my hair a few times over, so during this awkward regrowth phase I’m definitely trying this on my bald patches!! You are a blessing ♥️♥️♥️
I have Trich aswel 😊 it's a nightmare infairness , everyday for few years I put eyeshadow on my bald patches on my head , it works but sometimes the scalp stil shines and shows its been coloured , but most people dont notice 😁👍
Me too. I target the crown of my head like a lot of other people, and it’s almost impossible to cover the bald spot unless it’s on the side of your head. It’s gotten worse, and people don’t understand that you can’t just stop.
Yes my trichotillomania has been in my life since i was in 5th grade. It comes and go. Sometimes i have years without pulling. Anyways, so I recently shaved my head to stop the pulling the hair well just today i pulled out my hair from my hairline!!! Ugh will it ever go away?! I think i need to be completely bald again…
me too, i have a bald “spot” that is as big as my palm, on top of my head. i have school tomorrow and i’m out of my coverage spray, i don’t know what to do at all🥲
I have trichotillomania and got a buzz cut to quit it’s showing my bald spots a lot and this litterally saved me i’ll be doing this until the hair grows back. So much strength to all of you who suffer from alopecia i can’t imagine how painful it must be to see your hair falling and know that it might never grow back.
That happened to me too. I got my side shaved thinking it would look so cool and edgy and it showed the bald spots horribly. I was so embarrassed!!! That’s one of the reasons I ended up figuring this trick out. I’m glad that I was able to help you too.
You are so so sweet, I’m glad I found this channel as I’ve just started suffering from alopecia on the sides and a toonie size, complete bald spot on the crown of my already very very baby fine hair! I’ve been wearing hair scarves and this cute little hat with a hole in the top to pull a pony thru, but I’d like to go without always wearing a cover up. Much thanks and looking forward to trying!
Thanks for making this video... it's difficult to discuss some things like hair loss (especially in women) let alone show the realness of it. God bless
Thank you Gabi for posting this video to help is women who suffer from alopecia. I am going to try this! I have been losing my hair for 2 years now and just last year it got worse I had to cut my hair short. I'm excited to try this method to hide my bald spots. Thanks!
I'm shocked as hell because I have balding at the same exact spot as you. I've had it since a preteen. Dr say alopecia but I believe there's a cure for everything.....You are beautiful and so is your hair. Thank you for this.
This is really helpful, thank you. When I was a kid, I would self harm by ripping out my hair which results in my hair not growing in some areas so thank you
I have this and its really getting to me. I have it on both sides and also the lower part at the neck area behind my ears.... I used to have my hair pulled tight so much for work. Thanks for this video ❤
That's a very good technic. Also you can buy mineral eye-shadows without talc which could in essence help for breathability and waterproofing....another good trick is tinted dry shampoos for brunettes or for lighter hair that needs a real boost in volume, one with bamboo fibres which Revolution do and Batiste Naturals (which is the relatively new range). Also anything with Amazonian clay works very well. If you do want a portable hair product (roughly the size of a propelling foundation brush) then tarte cosmetics do a tinted for various hair colours scalp concealer with Amazonian clay BUT you will pay a price for it. I think your tip idea is a fantastic inexpensive concealer and in collaboration with a body building dry shampoo could prove to be a real confidence booster, I would never have been able to tell and you're helping many people to understand and embrace every aspect of ourselves Xx
So helpful! Does this irritate the scalp at all? I want to try this on someone I know but his scalp is usually quite itchy and irritated and I don’t want to risk making him loose more!
this looks great!! im a 35 year old man with a bald spot from a scar behind my ear. its kind of embarressing because people always think i got a bad haircut. i'm definitely gonna try this out. what is the brand of eyeshadow? and will it run / drip if its hot outside?
That is the most clever solution that I've seen yet. Thank you so much! I'm working towards becoming a police officer and I have been concerned about how to hide these spots... mine are in the same area as yours. Thank you for this!
Thank you so much for this!! My daughter is 11 and suffers from Alopecia...she has some bald spots on the top of her head so we are gonna try this!! Thank you again for this!!
I never comment on here, and not to be dramatic but you just saved me from having possibly the worst birthday of my life 😭 I wish I had found this video sooner! Thank you so much
First time I watch these video's... I've got one big problem. My front hair in top is no more there... What can I do. Sorry my english is not good.. Excellent video. Thank you. From South Africa. 🇿🇦👍💕
Thank you so much for your feedback! It means a lot to me. My goal on this channel is to help women feel better about themselves and I am so happy that it is coming across that way.
I’ve just come across this video and my challenge will be finding the right color, as my hair is a light copper red (thanks to my fantastic stylist!). Any thoughts about what colors to use? I am eager to try it. 🤞
Thank you!! Quick questions - does it stay on if you sweat (dancing etc)? Also does it get on your hands / fingers when you run your hands through your hair? Those are the issues I have with toppik which works overall really good but when you sweat, it gets gathered in some spots like patches of pigment and it’s awful. And even if you don’t sweat, when you run your hands in it, you have black all over your hands and fingers :( Do you use a setting spray to keep the shadow down and avoid these issues or are they the sane
I had the same issue with Toppiks and I hated using it (even though it was effective for covering large areas). This isn’t the same at all. A good quality matte shadow isn’t fibrous like that so it doesn’t get all over your hands, pillow, etc. I found that it did stay put no problem during warm summer days and didn’t get patchy like toppiks. You can definitely use a makeup setting spray like Urban Decay All Nighter on it if you want to but I never did. It should definitely help with longevity though.
I have some questions. I actually have alopecia along the middle parting line of my hair. Wondering if you have any tips for that. Also, do you just take the shadow off with like a makeup wipe like you would do on your face?
Just started into my 40s and have always had long thick hair and while it’s beautiful I’ve unfortunately started seeing bald spots. Traction alopecia and I had a full and radical hysterectomy 2 days after my 25th bday. With those combos and aging this is becoming a bit of self esteem issue and I’m trying to just live with it but thank goodness I’m not alone. I’m not a vain women but this is not cool 😢 I’ll be trying these makeup hacks. Anything I can do to regrow?? I’ve been wearing my hair down a lot more (I worked health care and restaurants so it was always up out of necessity)
I can't wear my hair half up bc my bald spots show so bad! I've tried eyeshadow, but it didn't cover, after seeing this I realize I used the wrong brush! 🤦♀️ Thank you!
You’re so welcome Amy! I’m so happy that I was able to help! Brush density is the most important thing when it comes to filling in and covering a zone. Let me know if you need any more help or advice.
You are amazing thank you so much. I have a bald patch on the top of my head. I was very stressed of whats been happening with photos of my head and I used a toothbrush it looks great thank you so much. Gabi it really works.
Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!!! You are so gorgeous with a beautiful spirit to match. It's my hope and prayer that our hair will either grow or stop falling out.
I have PCOS and my hairline has been causing me immense depression for the past few years... The rest of my hair is thick and long, but my hairline is almost bald, it kills me every time I look at myself in the mirror. The only way I can show myself in public for the past 2 years has been to use either the L'oreal spray for roots, which is good but it causes lots of mess if I touch my hair or on my pillows, or dry shampoo, but that is not a very good option either as no matter how much I brush the hair after or blow dry it to disperse the powder, the top of my hair still looks oddly powdery after and I don't like that... So this seems like my only option left... Thank you! Good thing I'm single, as I cringe when I imagine having a bf and letting him see me without the make up and all.... :(
Hi as someone who suffers from alopecia I do agree it sucks I have Trichotillomania and I tried tippox and it was awful it left streaks of dye on my hands when I touched my hair. If I touch my hair with the makeup on my hair with it leave like streaks of product?
I'm hoping someone reads this! My hair is falling out near the top and highly on the sides where yours is kinda. Do you recommend any eyeshadow brands? I'm not really into makeup but this would help me SO much with confidence. My hair is a dark brown semi near black, if that helps?
I dont have alopecia (sorry if i spelt it wrong) i have something cakled trichtellomainia or mostly knownas TTM, its basically were i have the urge to pull out my hair, ive had it for almost 9 years now, this really helped me, ty!
I am so happy that I was able to help you!!! You’re very welcome. Please leave comments if you get stuck and have questions. I’m happy to guide you in anyway that I can.
Omggg I HATE Toppik (despite its rave reviews)! It literally develops into little clumps on my scalp and makes my bald spots look worse. And the root touch-up sprays cover well but they make the area of my hair that I spray super greasy and grossss.
Hi Gabi, this was really helpful. I have brushes like those so I’m going to give it a try... I just need to find the right, matching, eye shadow. I am gratefully not balding, it’s my grey hair, it is on,y around my face but it comes in quickly and my hair stylist says I’m ready to try to go all gray, but it looks as though my hair is thinning. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Yes when grey hair comes in through the hairline it can definitely look like you're thinning even when you're not! Grab a brush and your matte shadow and paint it on! It's an easy solution using something that you already carry at home.
Doesn’t leave thick residue and turn fingers brown when you touch it ? I’ve tried all the grey cover up ones and they all leave a lot of residue . This seems like it would too ?
I have alopecia only on my left side near my ear. I wear my hair up so it's been a struggle and I get paranoid whenever I'm out in public that it's showing. I've been doing comb overs along that side but find it still shows up especially since my hair won't stay in place. I'm going to try this technique bit I have to order these products now! 😅
Welcome to the channel! I am so glad that you are here and I'm sorry that you had to go through this as well. It's a tough thing to experience as a woman.
I am dealing with that now maybe due to anxiety and stress I’ve been dealing with and a bad bleach job a salon gave me I had to cut my long Luscious hair super short and it’s thin and I have bad spot now, I hope I can be a good Candidate for EUE but for now this video is so great thank you!!!
if you pull out stands randomly just a bit on those spots after you use the color it can help too, or a more loose pony. I have that issue too. Happened after pregnancy
You should try dabbing castor oil/coconut oil on your bald spots for regrowth. Try not to use talc or chemicals on your scalp. They can cause baldness. Your video is very helpful. Thank you!
Have you ever tried using Dermmatch with this same technique? I used to use it pretty religiously. But I stopped because I had to wet my brush and it was super messy. I’m wondering if this brush would make a difference.
Hey i really like your videos. My hair is also thinning on the side and have a lot of breakage. Its driving me crazy. Do you have any recommendations.....
Hey! Do you know the source of the thinning? Do you have alopecia? Check out this video because you may find it super helpful. I included a lot of tips on why you may be experiencing hair loss and what you should do about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_ic5XYN3GkY.html
