My wife walked up to me while I was watching this video, she asked what I was watching. I told her it was a guy explaining the difference 1966 and 1967 mustangs. She hates old car stuff. Im smoother than creamy PB. Also I have a deal with her, she buys a bottle of wine I get a bottle of whiskey. She buys a $10 bottle of Barefoot, i buy a $200 bottle of Fourgate. Fair is fair.

Reminds me of a local gun store. For 5 bucks extra when you buy a new piece, that will leave you a voice message that you won the raffle for a free gun. True story. Also knew of a guitar shop that would do the same.

As a now divorced woman I no longer have to hide my bourbon, shoes or handbags from anyone. But here's a few tips for ya. I hid a shit ton of bourbon in my storage closet in the basement. Put it behind some old paint cans. Hid some in the kids closet. The linen closet on the bottom under the just for looking at towels and sheets and in the camping trip cooler when it was winter. I was better at hiding bourbon than he was at cheating. Lol

I find the best way is to just never question her amazon purchases. We both turn a blind eye and the only ones who suffer are our creditors.

This is too funny. Only one you forgot that I use sometime is... you get home with 2-3 bottle and the wife is like "what in the world? More bourbon? Seriously?" and I'm like " Babe calm down, I'm just a generous guy and these are for a couple associates at work." so then she says something like " Oh ok, that is so nice of you. I was worried you got more for yourself." Then just slip them to the back of the shelf after a couple days and you are good to go. Best part she thinks you are a nice guy and you get new Bourbon! WIN WIN! Really works well during the holiday months. Really enjoyed this video. Keep up the good work!

😂 Loved it! My wife never harasses me about buying bourbon, but I always feel like I need to "not tell her when I buy another bottle". Bottles hidden everywhere cause the shelf is full.😂 I was going to show the wife this video because she would get a chuckle out of it. BUT, then I was like "Nope!" Don't give her any ideas. I work at a liquor store and we have this guy out of state who purchase from us… but he does not want his wife to find out about his purchases, so he mails us checks and we send the booze to his work. Always good for a chuckle.

I made a trip to the bank.... then took a detour to the liquor store... walked out with an OF 1920, Four Roses Single Barrel, and a Redbreast 12... So the wife asked what was taking so long.. I said I made a detour.... So then she asks me "how many bottles of bourbon did you buy?" I said two.

The way I solved this was by creating a Pinterest worthy wall in my basement with shiplap and industrial pipe shelves and a design approved by the wife. She still couldn’t believe I filled 14 shelves 😬

I can't believe how relatable this is to me... I do most of these things to my girlfriend about my whiskey. Hiding backup bottles in old backpacks in the closet until the one on the shelf runs out, then put the new one in the back. I say, "Oh, yeah that was on sale for like $17 so I got it" as I point to a bottle of Knob Creek SiB. And of course "yeah I had some cash laying around that I never use".

The back of my guitar amp with a built in speaker and open back is a nice hiding place. I had two Larceny BP C921s in there for a while before I was able to make room for one in my cabinet. I've got an Early Times BiB stowed away in a box of several hundred CDs and up until tonight there was a JDSBBP in the garage, but now it's safe in the cabinet 😆🤫

Here's how I built a "where did all these bottles come from" area. I threw a whiskey tasting party where I said I was going to provide 4 bourbons. My friends each brought a bottle which they generously left at my house. That was now a instant shelf full of 10 bottles. When one goes low or empty, replace it immediately from ur hidden stash n move it to the back. Shhblamsky

My wife, a scientist, has an eagle eye. She can walk into the front door and spot a "new" bottle from across the room and ask about it. Fortunately, she mostly supports my "collecting" and even buys for me sometimes. (Not cigars though!). It helps that SHE has a mostly full 175 bottle wine fridge!

That is some funny shit. I do the same thing with tequila. The only problem with tequila, is the bottles are so much prettier, so she recognizes them quicker, and it makes it harder to find. You hit home, on so many different points, I was laughing my ass off.

The way I used to hide whiskey from Kira (my wife) was by creating an ever present & highly visible distraction: boxes of la croix in the frig and multiple bottles of vodka next to the fridge. That is, until she suddenly started loving bourbons & ryes 2 years ago. And that metamorphosis - my caterpillar wife into a highly inebriated butterfly - has led to my currently failing attempts to start my channel, 'Shelf Turds.'

This has become, by far, the most important video in all of WhiskeyTube!

The one trick I play is talking my wife into using the empty bottles as decorations. She paints them, ties ribbons around them, etc... It’s the one time that Pinterest hasn’t totally f**ked me in the ass with stupid projects!

I bought my Wife a new nice cabinet for all our cabinety things. Then I put all my whiskey in the old one. Neatly. And I vacuumed the room. That seemed to work out OK. Although, my bottles would look much nicer in the new cabinet... Damn compromises.
