Thank you! BTW for those of you who are healing. Flipping up the septum immediately and leaving it to heal in that direction will cause it to heal in the upward direction and cause discomfort when you place it back down you want to generally leave it alone for a while 7 days

Your septum looks lovely - really suits you. Seems a shame to flip it up! Have thought about getting one but never see a guy with one. Good one for work though as it can be hidden easily. My wife has her nose pierced and has to switch out her hoop for a stud for work.

I found that taking a deep breath in while you do it really helps

I noticed she mentioned she had this piercing at this time for 2 weeks. You actually dont want to make a habit of flipping it till its healed. If you have to work and hide it than flip it and keep it that way till its done healing or vise versa. Pick one and stick with it. Because if you keep flipping youll wear out the skin and Ive seen people rip that part of their nose. So lets not do that and keep it one way for a few months.

Yes , this is good trick to keep septum piercing alive, if most of people remove it for few hours or days it block or some times recover by new skin. Then very different task to reinsert a septum stud into that, I also recommend this to hide in side , 100% hassle free 🤗

I asked the manager before my interview if it is a problem if I have a septum, so I can take it out (or hide if it is haha). They said no, so I didn't have to hide, and got the job as well (it was a suprise cause it's an obersvatory). I can understand that some parents don't like it (mine neither) but this is your body, u can do whatever u want to. Don't be afraid to be your true self!

Fyi, you can get your septum pierced with a retainer too. It's like a U shaped piece of metal with no balls. I got mine done a week ago and the shop I went to always does it that way as in their experience, it heals the best. A ring of any kind will move and in the very beginning, that can hurt really bad, when crusties are pulled in. It is a bit annoying to clean around it, but it is worth it. Yes, it will be invisible in the beginning, which does mean you have to wait if you want it to be seen at all. But if it heals better, it probably also means you can change jewellery faster. And if anyone here is thinking about this: Do it. I was terrified of it, I had a needle phobia my whole life, finally getting over it. The pain is intense, but manageable for a fraction of a second when the needle goes through and a similar level when the jewellery goes in. After that, it is really easy. Clean just with whatever the piercer gives you(they should give you something, a spray or drops) or warm water. If you have issues with it being dry or anything, I used a special nose cream that's made for little wounds in your nose, like from intense colds. A tiiiiny drop each side. I never would have believed it would be anywhere near this easy 😂

YALL If you feel like you physically can’t flip it up, just force it. I thought my septum couldn’t fit in my nose but I decided to just fit it in and it hurt a bit but I finally got it and I’m so glad. It’s possible 🙏🙏🙏

the only reason i was allowed to get a septum is bc it can be flipped, i do semi pro swimming and at meets im not allowed to have facial peircings along with at work

Weird. Mine flips to easily. I got it Wednesday (2days ago now) I flipped it day one. No pain. The most painful part while piercing wasn’t even the stab. It was those darn clamps. I only feel pain if I literally yank the thing (did it on accident while half asleep had been asleep on my face and moved my arm up from under my neck which pulled the piercing) this could also be my higher pain tolerance lol I already have two daith (I forget how to spell) piercings.

If you don’t want parents to know about it, you can flip it up immediately do it after getting pierced and you can actually leave it flipped up for the whole healing process
