I just started my first year of softball. It is so fun! This has been very helpful. I've been able hit the ball each time up to bat so far with your advice. I wasn't getting how to hit the ball until watching your video. A huge thank you ❤️
THANK YOU MEG!!! I hadn’t played Softball since I was a kid. Our work league started and I watched this video over and over to prepare. I hit on the first swing each time & we WON 16-12 🥇 Can’t wait to watch all your other videos!!!! 👏👏👏
The single BEST step-by-step explanation on how to hit a softball that I've found. I've been trying to figure out why my 9 yr old continues to pull it down 3rd base line. I tried various feet positions, etc. Now I know it's her barrel leading her hands, and it makes perfect sense. I feel like an idiot for not seeing it before. Awesome video, Meg.
I’m a middle school coach indebted to you for the clarity and depth of your instructional videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
This is so helpful!! Thanks Meg! And I'm so glad you put why it is important to do each move in there. My girls ask me why all the time and I'm not always able to articulate it that well.
My daughter was struggling last week and she took a look at this video. She had 4 games this week and went 6 for 12 with 3 doubles and 6 RBIs. This drill works!!! Thank you so much
My 9/yo twin girls just started and can't get enough of it and want to learn as much as they can as fast as they can to get better. Your videos are very easy to follow and not overly detailed. Great job #Subscribed
Hi Meg. I play men's senior softball 55 yrs and older. You're fundamentals and technique are outstanding. I've saved this video to go back as a reminder when I get into a mini slump. Thank you!
I have an almost 9yr old just getting started and these videos are so helpful for me to work with her over the summer. After missing last season we feel a bit behind for 10u in the fall. Some other videos are almost too detailed for her I know they would be overwhelming. This has everything me need to start a good foundation. Thank you!
This is my first year of softball, I have the strong hits and decent stuff, I was told I look like I've been playing about 2-3 years, and these lessons I've been getting sent by my dad is gonna help a lot, I'm subscribing and can't wait for new videos, I have softball practice today, too! I can't wait to try this out. Thank you for your help and all the awesome things you do! ♥
@@MegRemSoftball I'm really enjoying it so far! And I'll stick along with you for sure! You break it down in a way I can just understand it very well, it's cool! Thank you.
Thank you for this video I’m taking notes and it will be some good talking points to bring up to the girls while helping out the coach, it’s my daughters first year of fast pitch softball and I can’t express how excited I am for her and me 😂
Hey Meg, thank you so much for the tips! This season was difficult for me as I have not been able to hit softballs like I could in the previous season. So hopefully this helps. Thank you so much!
Meg, My daughter is 11 and a total beginner. With just 2 months of training and studying your videos she is officially crushing the ball. Kenzi loves you and says Thank you from Katy, TX!
Thank you right now I am the youngest player on my softball team and I really wanna do as good as the older girls. Since Ive found your channel it has helped me look like a pro!
Thank you!!!! I'm trying to practice my hitting so I'm not always hitting foul balls, so your videos have been a big help for me!!!! I can't wait to try this out for my next game!!!
Way to nail it yet again, Meg. You make the world’s most helpful softball videos. As a (never have played) parent of three young players, these videos are absolute gold. Love it!
Hey Meg! I’m a right and center fielder. Do you mind showing how to properly throw a softball farther than normal? I tend to hurt my elbow throwing that far back into the pitcher or my second baseman.
I posted a video a couple weeks ago on "How to Throw." My advice for throws from outfield, use your entire body and make sure your throwing arm comes all the way down and across your body. Don't get tight and stop out front!
Thank you so much, think this video is great and and the breakdown is so technical in such a short time . Think this is going to help my daughter so much 👍👍👍
I’m 6”3 and started playing slow pitch soft ball and my swings have been garbage 🗑 started watching your Vids and I have improved tremendously!!!! Please keep them coming
Love the videos, having incorporated a lot of your drills into my practice. Was wondering if you had any good drills that work on game situation scenarios
Excellent way to teach break it all down bit by bit - lots of moving parts we forget when we've played forever - I taught an older guy that was built well but never was taught how to play sports and used the method you show - break every moving part down and go bit by bit - I literally toss the ball from a few feet away and have them just make contact and try to get them to bap the ball back to me - then I move back - eventually this guy was clobbering them over my head within about 20 minutes - easy peezy if you're patient
Great video! Going to share with some of my daughters (9yr old) teammates to focus on fundamentals of the swing. My daughters swing coach calls it “knee and knob” to the ball (@3:25), definitely understandable for young players.
“Short to it (point of contact), long through it (getting to extension)! My daughter loves the videos. Great educational short clips to keep educating her while she is learning the game! Great supplement, highly recommend!
I have a son playing baseball and a daughter playing softball. All the baseball coaches and workshop coaches say the hips go first. IT seems like you are agreeing with that? FYI, I played HS basketball and football, so trying to do right by my son and daughter.
I'm teaching my girlfriend how to hit and i loved your video! We're from Brazil so english is not our first language but the way you enunciate so clearly made the portuguese subtitles come out nearly perfect! So thank you very much! ❤️🇧🇷🥎
Great video! I will be using your hitting points this evening with my u12 girls. I especially liked how you mentioned that we all have a different "set up" in the box, so very true. Years ago I coached a young fella in u10 baseball and he had a different set-up at the plate, it looked unorthodox but he got the job done, consistent hard contact. Years later (2019) he was drafted in the MLB, New York Yankees, Round: 3, Overall Pick: 105. Trust me it wasn't my coaching, he just has a way of hitting the ball and was very coachable. I've been playing for 38 years and this video was great, my how things have changed! Thanks for your tips!
Knob to the pitcher can be a problem for batters that tend to be late. They have to learn to get the barrel in the zone deep. You can still let the hands lead. That’s what I’ve seen in 12u baseball at least.
@@MegRemSoftball thanks your a awesome softball player I would love to do a one-on-one with you pitching, hitting, and so much more but that's probably not going to happen
I'm an 8th grader, I wanted to tryout this year but the sport was rejected to play because of COVID-19. But their trying to get it back. So hopefully by the time I'm a freshman they'll have it 🤞🤞 But until then I'll just practice and inform myself. Goodluck to anyone who is able to tryout and play, hope you made it 😁
