Hey Tony, I've always wanted to get into boxing and I finally was able to since my local gym has a lot of heavy bags to practice on. I've been practicing now for about two weeks and your videos have really helped me a lot when it comes to hitting the bag properly. So thank you for these videos! Your helping a lot of people out here trust me so keep up the amazing work!
This is great. I was a kid 11 years old and at the Youth Club working out on the Heavy Bag and a guy stood and watched me and took and interest in me - he then started teaching me. He just wanted to and he was the Cousin of Lionel Rose the World Champion. I never forgot the things he taught me or the honour that he took an interest in me.
The opening to this video makes me realize how amazing Manny Pacquiao’s bag work is. There will never be another boxer like him! Love ya Coach god bless and happy holidays.
As a Martial artist, when I was doing "One Step Sparring" Practicing a Technique. I would start with my hands-down by my side, however after that point my hands would be protecting my face and body. The reason for the practice was no one walks around in an on guard position.
another tip on breathing def breathe when making swift body movements or heavy arm movements to block or parry it definitely helps. Tony you don’t know how much you’ve helped me on my solo boxing journey.
You're an extremely underrated mentor, I've been doing boxing for 5 years and throughout my journey you have been helping me a lot. Thanks a lot and continue what you're doing
I'm glad you mentioned those flimsy arm shots because I catch myself doing this when I start getting tired during the end of a bag session. I take little recovery sessions, keeping "my opponent" on denfense.
Hey Tony, you are so energetic and I'm passionate about learning boxing. I stopped boxing a few years ago and how to start boxing just by seeing your videos. And I love boxing.
@@Tony_Jeffries yes my dear I have seen this video, I never miss your videos, but it's just a request, can you please make a video on barbells and dumbbells workout for boxers? If it's possible, otherwise no issue 🙂
Here to support you Tony. No one should copy any content from your hard work in every video. Shame on him. And you really did awesome job on this channel. Keep it !!
I don't know how to appreciate you fir making such a great tutorial for boxing thank you so much and keep making this impressive youtube videos I believe lots of people like me need you to make videos
New to the channel Tony but really enjoying the techniques displayed. I was a long time boxer who took 2 years off due to an injury. Recently went back to boxing at a gym near my place and your channel has really helped me pick up great tips i can apply to quickly get back into it (with good habits). Keep up the great work
I love the positive attitude you have in all your videos. I’ve only been boxing a few months but your videos have given me tips and the confidence to go out and goto the gym thanks Tony 🙌🏽👊🏽
Great video again! Thanks for another advanced tutorial Coach Jeffries. Is it possible that you could make a tutorial with defensive head movements like Canelo when's hitting the little bag? That'd be awesome! P.s. What a nice surprise was to do trainning and then looked at your side and see the great Sugar Leonard staring at you on the mitts. G!!! 😎🥊
Hey Tony, thanks and I want big and lengthy video on intermediate and advanced level body punching. You have already given one big and lengthy video on same but kindly consider my request. Waiting........
Got my daughter 11 years old into boxing she is watching all your vids becoming obsessed with training. Love your channel if you ever come to sweden pm me and you got a place to stay !
Videorequest: first sparring as a kid and how to think about it as a parent. My daughter is growing up so different from me and im struggling a bit here what to say when she asks about it.
love your videos! My first love was boxing before I discovered muay thai. I had 2 ammy muay thai fights and unfortunately lost them both. I only threw 1 jab in both fights. These boxing videos are awesome and I can already tell a difference in my boxing. Keep em coming! Also, what kind of gloves are the red ones??
Tony, im a beginner and i like your videos, but im a little bit confused..you said many times that we have to fully extend our arm when hitting, but in this video you didn't fully extend it when you showed us how we should look when hitting the bag properly... Like i said i'm a beginner and have no idea, don't be mad if my observation is wrong...
Great video , you really have to create a frew videos how to handle(or practice to do so) situations with fighters who do hard sparring (everyone had faced a guy who want to knock you down by throwing bombs) and its not easy to evade , your mind got tricky , and you feel fear before punch coming(because you know that bomb is coming and hold your breath)
This was a really helpful video, thank you. I took some notes on the punch bag drills section to take to the gym with me tomorrow so thought I may as well post them here in case it's helpful for anybody else. 10 punch bag drills 0) Practice breathing out on every punch 1) Head movement before and after every combination - Should be doing this all the time anyway, get into the habit 2) Working on head then body combinations - 3) Working on body then head combinations 4) Working on your jab - Start with single, then double, then triple, then quadruple, then triple, then double, then single using footwork and head movement after each combo 5) Practice different ranges of lead hook and rear hook - Close, medium and far distances - Mid range should be arm at a 90 degree angle on both arms 6) Instead of head movement, feint before every combination 7) Practice different 3 punch combinations 8) Practice different 5 punch combinations - Count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 when doing it 9) Just work on the lead hook to the body (repeat for rear hook to the body) - Singles, doubles, triples - Turn your weight onto left leg, stay relaxed, clench your fist, breath out 10) Counter punching - Jab, slip left, counter - Jab, slip right, counter
Hi.. You are absolutely amazing technical... I learn from you in RU-vid so much ..thanks... 🙏🏻 I have a question to ask you.. I going to boxing gym half year, but the coach don't teach me sparring ,only three four times 2minutes...always punching bag.. what you things? can you give me some advice..? I still have to go..? because I don't have experience..🙏🏻
Tony, the videos are very educational and I feel like I am leaning a lot. The foot movement made me wonder: since my gym does martial arts also, the have free standing punching bags - do these techniques and drills apply to free standing bags or what needs to be done to modify them to make a punching bag workout effective if using a free-standing bag?
Do believe in 6 minute Rounds ? I was taught that kind of workout in 76 and seems always work for me . I mean I know I’ve been in a workout after that !!
hi Tony i have a question im new to boxing (5months) when im exhaling while punching with mouthpiece on it's so hard as if the mouthpiece will fallout also it wont stick on top of my teeth any advice
Tony could you please answer this question I just bought my own double end bag and I want to use the same bungee cords you have what kind did you get and where did you get them from?
Hi Tony, loving your videos, I've got a charity boxing match coming up (my first ever fight) and have found I struggle with my wrists on the bag. How can I strengthen my wrists to help with this? Cheers
Yes, from my tiny experience when I try to go hard with bare hands, I definitely miss one or two and my wrists twist and start paining. But when I got the wrap on, little are the chances my wrists twists because I wrap quite some windings around the wrist and if I have the gloves along with the wrap, I feel no strain on my wrists. Hope this helps.
Can you do video about diet because i started boxing like 1 and half month ago and i feel like i did not lose any weight and i dont see changes too so i downt know that to do what should ineat and stuff like that
Hi Tony Jeffries. Will you try out Oculus Quest Pro or Oculus Quest 2 game Thrill of the Fight and give your opinion please? I would ask for you to play on Outmatched Difficulty against every opponent.
Fuck yeah tony love the content! Greetings from Saskatoon Canada! Your tips are helping me in the squared circle greatly! Defiantly going to tell my coach about you 😎
