My favourite thing to do is listen to music while I am at the gym and visualize myself being successful in games and it helps push harder during my workouts.
Carter Chard-Hill I like when I’m pooping to really listen to music concentrate on what I’m doing zero out any noise and focus my mind on the prize my mission is to get the poop out of me and I’m not going to stop until I get it done that’s what you have to do to be successful on the toilet
I'm not in High School, a pitcher, or someone who plays in pick up games, I just like taking in the serenity of my front yard (I live in the country so it's peaceful) while throwing a Baseball at my makeshift strike zone (it's just an old broken coach in are yard and put up one of the cushions up and throw against that lol I can't afford a pitching net right now). It's very calming and satisfying to hit your spots. Although I miss my spots a lot and I'm a hot head lol even if I wasn't I imagine it'd be hard for most people to keep their cool if they kept missing, hopefully this will help. Like I said I'm not playing in any games or anything so I'm definitely wanting to improve my Accuracy over velocity so I won't get mad as much.
I coach my 7 year old and he’s light years ahead due to everything I’ve learned from you. He Rakes and throws strikes with above average Velo. I watch and take notes on ALL of your videos. I wished I would’ve known you before I spent money going to TEX BB Ranch and Driveline. Great Places but I spent Thousands.
Really helpful got a really good understanding of were my mind needs to be when I’m pitching.my tryouts for high school baseball are tomorrow and this will help a lot
I’ve always had a 12-6 curve ball that when I played little league I was unhittable, it broke from there head to the bottom of the zone, I was probably the best pitcher in my league. But that was when I was like 12 and the mound was close. Now I am 17 and have a not too impressive ~74 mph fast ball, a cutter (with really good movement), a not so good change, and the same 12-6 curve. But my curve has so much movement it’ll start at the top of the zone but break into the dirt infront of the plate, I am Throwing it with the same arm speed as ever other pitch, but I just can’t control it. Whenever I throw it higher it goes too high. Like I can’t find that sweet spot, so basically what could/should I do to get control of my curve again and get it back in the zone?
Yes, my son is starting to pitch on a more regular basis...he is coming from the side, sidearm, and he has done this since end of November 2017...His HS coach wanted him to work on it and he has picked up on it really well...however, his velocity is about 70 -73. Not bad because it has good movement, but what can he do to increase his velocity...he is 17 now and will be a senior in the fall. Thanks for your time...JP
Can you please help me, I’m a pitcher at a Juco in Ohio. Our season starts March 2 and we have been in spring training the past three weeks and my changeup is missing high, what are some tips to releasing the changeup pitch
I’m 13 and had 12 strikeouts a couple of weeks ago, and I’m only a second year pitcher. I don’t necessarily have spots, and I throw 75 mph. What spots do I need? This is before watching this video btw
Aim small, Miss small is an archery term as well. I've pitched for a little over 10 years. Now I'm older and been shooting archery for a short while, getting my form and technique down and I use very small targets and about 60 to 70 feet; I do pretty well. The point is focus on your zone at which your aiming for; The small zone; inside, high, low, outside. You don't focus on the strike zone, you focus on that small zone Madden's talking about. Still enjoy pitching.
Hello, I would say you have help me out lot. This is my first year head coaching a 12u baseball team. I have watch alot for different thrown pitches. For my pitcher that I have. Very easy to show and teach them. Thank you.
My son is right handed and he has a problem throwing down and away (left side of the catcher) or high and tight (right and hi from the catcher). How can he correct this?
Great video. I have been focusing on mechanics for my son and yesterday I thought about how relaxed he is when shooting free throws. And it hit me he is in his head. So I took a different approach and then today ran across your video. Just more proof that this is more of the track. Thanks. Very helpful.
What I do when pitching and am really stressed out is first of all clothes my eyes for three seconds take two deep breaths then on the pitch completely imagine me throwing one right down the middle hold my breath through the pitch then release it idk if it will help for others but try it it helps for me
Dude that LMV makes so much sense this dude at my school Noah Stewart is raw as all hell and as a sophomore he’s sitting 74mph but he’s got a ton of location and movement
Quick question. What is a good brand of baseballs to use for pitching practice? I've got some old balls we use for hitting but they are to slick to use for any kind of ball controll
When Greg Maddux explained it to me he used the word “repeatable”. So I now say repeatable. We are not English teachers. We’re pitchers. Did it confuse you?
Nice video. Good pitching takes time. I have a soon to be 10 year old who is blessed with a live arm. But his accuracy needs work. What game plan do you recommend, day to day, week to week, season to season, to improve accuracy? Thanks,
As you progressed in your career what resources did you use to build mental focus/discipline? Books, drills, etc. My 12 yr old has above avg intellect & physical talent, but the repetitive nature needed for physical drills causes his mind to wander. Lost focus = poor form = inconsistent results. Thank you.
I need help to thro a curve ball I no how to grip and throw it but it doesn't curve at all I asked all my team and coaches that no and they said I was oding it right it just wont curve
Galactic_YT try the knuckle curve. It’s easier to learn for some and harder for others. Grip it the same, but bend your index finger so your knuckle is resting on the ball. Throw it the same. Expect your first few to fall short of your target.
