Hi, I had started learning flute by watching your tutorial. Last year I got treatment for cancer , that's why I missed you sessions. Now it's time to enjoy and learn again . Thank you Man.
вот и год прошёл незаметно..это моя точка отсчёта.не знал что меня затянет так глубоко.Благодарю доктора Кэрри за то что он сопровождает и мотивирует этот процесс
I will make a video to ask people what their questions are...and then one to answer them. If you have a question, post it as a comment to any of my videos. Thanks!
I find that my hands, especially my left wrist and thumb, feel tight and sore after holding the flute for a while. Is that normal or does it mean my posture isn't very good?
Namaste Ragamala. Take a week off. Relax your grip. Try placing your hand in a way that reduce stress on the thumb. I had this happen to me and I changed my grip accordingly.
I play with the Pannalal Ghosh style of fingering but have been told it is wrong. I can hardly produce a decent sound with the Hariprasad Chaurasia style. Is the transition worth it and how long will it take to get used to it? Thanks.
I feel you pain - the worst day of my (musical) life was attempting to adapt to the thumb parallel/ Chaurasia position (after playing western open hole for a couple of years) on my first Bansuri. Fortunately, the maker convinced me to start on an A instead of the E I had initially asked for. That was five days ago and I am already shopping for a G.
great video! I've trouble playing teevra ma in raags, i hold flute in a slightly diff way than yours my index finger is bit more curved or slanted over the hole so when i lift it its not much above like yours i mean like yours is more free there is wide gap so you get a good sound. plzz help me out
Aman Kumar Hi Aman, For teevra ma you don;t use your index finger. The flute is held my the point of contacts at your mouth, your thumbs and your right pinky finger.
